Is there a Mod out there that allows you to Reconcile just one edge of your city, or just a localized area?

I'm really tired of having to fix all the spiking and or dropping corners that you get from trying to make a region from scratch and being OCD and yeah....

If there's not an app, any advice on how to dodge all the frustration im feeling is welcomed.

Go into your Regions folder and copy the region, rename the copy region and put it back in to Regions folder. Reconcile the surrounding tiles of your target first, then the one you want to work on. Replace the other tiles with copies from the copy region by import option.

Or you could use SC4 Terraformer, you can simply import an undeveloped region into the app, smooth areas between borders (it allows editing of entire regions in one place), then export it again.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Sorry for the laziness, but can someone give me a link to download the terraformer and/or mapper?  The only ones I've found are through other communities and require that I open an account on there site which I don't like doing.  Is there one on Simtropolis?

....Also or if there's a mod that allows terraforming in Mayor mode, or allows you to go to GOD MODE without having to obliterate city, a link to that would be super awesome.  Like I said im very new to mods and very tired of google searching them.  blah.

    @thornp113

Yep, @Cyclone Boom is gathering the linkys you've requested and will post soon.

Btw, the LEX (SC4Devotion's file exchange) is a completely safe place to register. It is a separate login from the one to be a member of their forums. I was hesitant myself when I first joined ST, but learned it's a large repository with many dependencies for other mods, even some mods hosted here on our STEX.

    Here they are:

    Terraformer

    Mapper

These are only hosted on the LEX and not on Simtropolis, so as Cori said above it will just need registering to the LEX to download. This will probably come in handy in future too, since there are quite a number of dependency files and extra content which is exclusive to the LEX and well worth checking out.

HI I'm back again!  Even though it was weeks ago when I started this thread, I haven't been able to play or study much at all since then.  Plus my computer crashed.  So a few more questions...

    A)  Does SCTerraformer require you to purchase an account with driver support one?  Because I installed THAT, but the SCT install program won't run.

    2)  Is there like a basic Texture packs for beginners?  I used to think that textures were just for BAT designers, but thats wrong. Right?

Any advice/tutorials would be helpful.  Can't believe how much I still have to learn.

    Thanks!!

Like many SC4 tools, Terraformer is freely available on the LEX here, and so it only needs an account on the LEX to download it.

There are no extra drivers required to use SC4Terraformer, so it runs once installed. It might just need the DLL file mentioned in the description / documentation. I found there's a useful post here which explains a process which worked for someone recently, in case that might help.

Yeah, BAT textures and lot textures are two different animals. For BATs it involves the 3D modelling for how textures are applied. I'm not familiar with the process, but some authors might make their own textures, or find suitable ones to use from online repositories.

Lot textures are known as dependencies, and are created to be used as base or overlays in lot editing. There are many of these available, as this dependencies list shows. If using Ctrl+F on this index, they can be found for many of the most common texture packs. The mega texture packs are similar to prop packs in that sense.
