Do STEX items work on a Mac?

I am using a mac with OS Big Sur for the SimCity 4 game.   I would like to download some of the the STEX to my game but I am not sure if STEX is for Windows only?

There are many items on the STEX which are Mac compatible, but also those that have the Rep bug (and other such issues) need fixing so they work on Mac systems. If you find any items which don't work properly with goofy capacities and such, please post on the forums and someone might be willing to fix it up to function properly.

Also see the info @rsc204 explained about in this post about a files limitation for the Mac game, which is where packing plugins into .dat files is useful. This is because it depends on the quantity of files, not the overall size of them. So by consolidating items into fewer files, it works around this limitation.
