You will have to register or if you remember your Log-in and password you can use that. Found his addie in another forum here at STEX. Now you can get those hard to find prop's of his.

I just tried to sign in using my previous account last used a few years ago, but received the error: That username does not exist.

Then on the forum index I noticed the ominous message:

As of now, according to the index it says there are only 27 registered members. Compared to over 1,700 from March 2017, as captured by the Wayback Machine here.

So it seems like the old user accounts are no longer on record and were unfortunately wiped out following data loss. Therefore I suspect that means anyone trying to use a previous account will need to register a new one in order to access the files or other resources at Gizmo.

Cyclone Boom I couldn't remember my account information so I just registered an new account using my yahoo e-mail account.

They started uploading his files onto the LEX when his site went down and he couldn't be contacted, but I only think they did a couple that were dependencies

Thank you chfzdn. I know some MOD'd call for Gizmo's Prop's. Now we can get them from his site and not have to search for them.

Revived this tread and the website was goes to 404 File Not Found!!!

I just tried the linky and get the same error.

As a temporary (or permanent if needed) measure we could prolly do the same as Devotion had started with peeps sharing their Gizmo files. For now, we can use this thread and include them as attachments to posts until we know for sure if they've disappeared completely. Should they be larger than the 4 MB attachment limit, they can be shared via WeTransfer.com or other file hosting service. In that case I'd grab a copy and upload it directly to ST's server and provide a linky since WeT deletes them after one week.

Actually we have account for Gizmo on LEX which contains one of his props. The question is if we have any contact to Gizmo or as a good faith someone (maybe @Tarkus) could upload the files to LEX under Gizmo's account.

Thanks. Comparing both collections, the only difference I notice is your archive includes "Vehicle Props v3.0".

From the file name, it sounds like they're otherwise the same as v4.0 which adds some extra props as a later released edition. However comparing both files and there's only a 145 byte difference. Then checking in Reader, both seem identical other than different IID prefixes on the v4.0 with "c6" added in place of "00". Perhaps the old one has been used on some lots and so it might be required, but the newer v4.0 was created to avoid conflicts with other ranges?

As Cori said, if someone would be willing to upload them to the STEX, we can make this a permanent hosting solution here at ST on the grounds of good faith with Gizmo's files no longer available at the source. As an idea, it might be worth having the an entry on the STEX which uploads all 28 individually under the Download button. That way people can pick and choose as needed, and they'd each be contained in one central location. Alternatively or even alongside the individual uploaded zips, having them simply bundled in a single zip archive I think would be worthwhile, and it's a perfectly reasonable file size at less than 30 MB to be distributed in this form. The upload wouldn't necessarily need preview pics of each item either. There's numerous items, and sampling each would be a significantly involving task. So maybe just a generic title image would suffice, or just showing certain props from Gizmo's set.

Most importantly, we feel it's only fair on Gizmo for his files to still be readily available for the community to enjoy.

Yepp, I found many uploads on STEX which are using the older, v3.0.  As far as I know most of the zips has individual readmes with preview images about the contents. So Gizmo actually made a pretty nice work on the organization part.

Assuming the email he used to register at SC4 Devotion is still active (he did log onto SC4D in 2018), I do have a way to contact him there.  It does appear that, if one removes the "/index.php" bit on the end of the URL as in luvs2draw's link and goes straight to the subdomain (http://gizmo.aplaceforwebsite.com), this pops up instead, which seems to suggest he still has an active hosting account with Lunarpages, but is either he's re-building the site, or that his hosting company did something to it again that will require him to re-build it.
