It says unable to copy plugin to plugin directory. I would aprreciate a step by step tutorial on how to download it.

The lot editor doesn't have very much buffer space to load plugins. It trys to load everything in your plugins folder, and often fails. Best thing is to take out everything except the stuff you want to edit, and put it all back later keeping your updates. If you have some of the big mega-prop packages, they just don't fit with much else.

I really want this program who know the name of this program or who have this program please tell me or post it in here.

Actually, this is not a program, but more or less the very first incarnation of what is now SC4Tool. It's a Microsoft Access database that contains all Maxis RCI buildings which I created years ago for myself and other people who might be interested. Since not everyone has Access (it's only available in MS Office Professional), simrolle offered to program an independent viewer for the data, which eventually became SC4Tool. All data that was included in my database is now available as "Building Database" in SC4Tool, but it's just a database, not a tool to edit the data. You can do that with some of the modding tools that are available, though.

Prop into Building?

I was wondering how to change a prop into a building. I'm trying to make ploppable boats, and this method was suggested in one of my earlier posts.

Use the SC4PIM, choose the prop and make a Landmark with it. I have done all the existing propboats that exist on the Net like this, works just fine.

Plug-in Manager Help

Whenever i try to save something with the SC4 Plug-in Manager it says "Failed to save "Stone House" Error saving XML plugin description"

Lot Editor Problems...

OK I made a lot and had a square of overlay textures 4x4... When I save the lot in lot editor it all seems fine, but when reloading the lot in lot editor i now have missing overlay textures from most of the square (it now looks like a "u")... Why did it do this? Did I do something wrong?

I believe this can happen if you have overlapped the textures (replaced one texture over another). When assigning new textures to a lot, it is best practice to delete the existing textures before you add any new ones (highlight all squares and press the delete key). This applies to both base textures and overlay textures. Try reopening your lot and replacing the textures using this method.

I did that and still the same thing... I have also tried using a brand new lot with the same results... Could it be a conflict with Texture ID's since I havetextures in for now with temp IIDs waiting to get my IID Range....

I created my textures with PSP11 128x128 PNG... full white alpha image.... I then used to SC4Tool to create the texture dat... I put the textures in all 4 or 5 image locations, same for alpha images.... I then clicked use next available IID since I am waiting for my range... Made sure standard texture was clicked...And saved the texture....

Everything shows up in LotEditor just fine until I save and reload the lot, then I get the missing textures on the lot itself again....

after some more testing it seems I am limited to 29 overlay textures per lot...

Just to be sure, are you stacking several overlay textures on top of each other on one and the same tile? Or are you applying one single overlay texture to each tile?

Single overlay on a single square.... If I could figure out how to make base textures I wouldnt have this issue... It seems pointless that I am placing a full texture as an overlay...

Sorry... The solution was to make the base textures instead of the overlays... There seems to be a maximum 29 allowed overlay texture squares per lot... This was a problem since my lot is a very large lot for my drag strip... The thing is, I screwed it up from the beginning making overlays that should have been base textures from the start... I will get some screens posted once I get the new textures remade with my allocated IID #s...

What kind of sidewalk should I use?

The question says it all, and yes, I can create one. I know how to, so gimme an idea about the sidewalk textures, I don't want a super grungy look, nor do I want the Maxis look, but something kinda real.

First I Will Tell You How To Get The B.A.T....You First Download Gmax From Turbosquid.com/gmax, Regerster From This Link Regerstration, Then Go To The Sim City 4 Offical Site And Download BAT, Then Go To the Gmax Installer That You Downloaded And Install Gmax. Then You Should Be Able To Install The B.A.T.... To Change The Stats On A Lot, You Can Download The Reader And L.E. Prop To Edit The Properties, Be Sure To Read The readme Files On Both To Become Familiar With Them. And How To make U.D.I Thing The Best Person To Talk To Is simfanatik.

Can't find my BAT in Lot Editor

I rendered my building and put it under "Landmarks" in the Plugins Manager. Then the plugins manager says "plugin saved successfully" so I move on to the lot editor. I open up the empire state building as my base lot and then I click on buildings and scroll through the list to find by new BAT but it isn't in the buildings list, does anybody know why? I used to have no troubles with lot editor and now my bat isn't showing on the list.

How large is your building (length & width, height doesn't matter here). If your building is too large for the stock empire state building lot, it will not show in the menu. The building must fit on the lot you are creating to show in the menu.

Growable to Ploppable

Hello, i would like to ask if I need to install Lot Editor to make growable bats that i downloaded to ploppable ones as well as change the number of jobs provided by those bats? And, is there an available tutorial on how to do it?

there are so many beautiful buildings on the stex but alot of them are exclusively growable. And most of the time, the buildings that i would like to see in one place never appear or, instead, grow somewhere else. :-\

ive been hesitant to ask that... (for 3 years now; yes, for 3 years!) *:lol: and now's the only time i thought to give it a try and ask all you experts out there regarding my lingering inquiry. *:golly:

The definition of an expert, IMHO, is a guy in a suit with a briefcase, 25 or more miles from home.

You don't need the lot editor to change that stuff, you need the ilive reader. It requires considerable learning to do this without damaging the lot.

Somehow, I can't find it on the STEX, but I know its there. Maybe you will have better luck. There are also some tutorials for it in the STEX. Good luck.

The lot editor is used in two ways: First to edit an existing lot to change its graphics appearance including the main building, add props, etc. thereby creating a new lot which will be automatically saved in your plugins; second is to complete the work in creating a BAT lot. Make a BAT lot comes in three stages: Graphics development and rendering, assignment of properties, incorporation in a lot or set of props. Besides the lot editor, there are two other programs involved. I recommend the BAT essentials tutorial in the Omnibus for this.

Plugin Help

Hello all

I'm trying to work with Paeng's wonderful Coast Guard Airfield in lot editor, but each time I try to open a lot, it gives me this error:

"The lot you have chosen cannot be edited because it uses items from SimCity plugins or expansion packs that are not installed on this machine."

I made sure that I had all the dependencies listed by Paeng. Furthermore, when I entered a city, the games said that I was missing "Plugin Pack 703557404". I tried looking for brown boxes. It turns out, Paeng's Plasma Gassification Plant had turned into a brown box.

I'm not sure if this is another bug, but the texture underneath the helicopters in the Coast Guard is grass, instead of tarmac. Also, one of the helicopters does not appear at all.

Please help. TYVM.

Update: fixed the missing plugin problem, no more brown boxes. However, the Lot Editor problem persists. Help, please.

The lot editor has limited buffer space. It cannot swallow a big plugins folder. You must also make sure you have the right lot editor (the one on the BAT download page).

Now, to overcome the small buffers problem, you need to partition your plugins (temporarily) so that the actual plugins folder constains only the plugins you want to edit. When you are finished, pull it all back together.

BAT and LE help

Sorry for the title, I meant to make it "I need BAT and LE help".

Hey All! Im bahamd81, this is my first topic. I have a few questions about the LE and BAT. First, the LE isn't working right, whenever it works

it won't save my stuff (I lost my work!).

Can someone please help me with that problem? Also, I have a few questions regarding the BAT/gmax. I don't understand it at all! It is so hard (for me, that is). The SC4 website has "tutorials" supposed to be here on Simtropolis but they aren't loading. If I get a BAT tutorial and I get my lot editor working again, I might start making cool things for your cities.

I have 3 years Expierence with Simcity 4, and I built a city with 820,000 Inhabs and 550,000 commercial jobs in just a couple hours. I've been on ST for over a year now, and I am familiar with it. I made a few Parking lots on this site, but they have not recieved good ratings. I want to be a master of Architecture and Lotting with gmax and the LE.

You can download the extra cheats .all which allows you to plop growable buildings in the game.

do you have a link for it? and will it work in Windows 7?
