I was wondering if you'd start a CJ after seeing all those great pics you've been posting recently in the "Show Us" thread - glad to see you start one up *:thumb:

Looking forward to seeing what else you've got in store *:)

SANTANA ISLAND - Technical Details. Part 01

    Thanks, Korver.

I am always amazed at your photos CS4. It is impossible to do in a real game, but You give me inspiration. It helps me to go forward. Thank you.

Santana Island to live and grow until I can work on my current Windows XP x32 (now I have backup games for HP Notebook - but it's only a silly game on the original disk, 2004) - on this HP Notebook doesn't have the tools.

My SC4's life is only with my PC Computer. There are almost all the files sc4 game from 2004. For 25 years from the old computer were only headphones ...

I'm redoing my PC and since 1993 I have since then left only headphones. But the machine still works with Windows XP (before XP was Windows other - 1998, 2004 - I forgot). But XP works non-stop. This is the best Windows system. All Vista, Millenium, Win 7, Win 8, Win 10 - are the poor remakes on the good old Win XP.

For those who are awake and interested... This is my working set of programs for SC4 and for everyday :

    2017-04-25_090004.jpg.a5a76885a9a6fea11ed35bb0200350c8.jpg

    Good Luck *:D

    Thank You @TekindusT!!!

I will not live so much. I am suffering with SC4 since 2004. While gathered most of the files about SC4 yet put them in order...

My hard drives filled with tons of files about SC4.

And time for a toy has not left

But something will be born ... Step by step *:golly:

Looking good *:thumb: I'm really looking forward to seeing how this small town develops!

One small suggestion however: make sure you get the yellow border remover and the minimize button remover so we can see your great pics without any distractions *;)

Your journal is quite atmospheric, and the aesthetics are breathtaking. I don't want to discourage any ambitions you have of developing the island, but if it doesn't work out then you could do a city journal centered around natural beauty of this or other regions.

This is getting really interesting ;)I love the general atmosphere ! It kind of reminds me of this long poem, La prose du Transsibérien written by the swiss/french poet Blaise Cendrars who partly recounts the siberian journey he claimed to have done in 1905, in the very early days of the Transsiberian, through a wild, agitated and pioneering Russia. Also I guess you did most of the props shown here ? :)

@Krasner: Thank you. Very interesting thoughts about poetry, this is so sudden...

Some PROPS I make myself. I fit into the cubes from GMAX pictures from my PHOTOSHOP. But most of the models were repainted and supplemented from known models of other respected authors. I don't like bright and poisonous paint and try to avoid them.

I really like Your work. I'm sure the time will come and they will appear on the SANTANA ISLAND. They are very perfectly suited to my style!

Thanks again and success to You!.

How do you repaint the models of others that are too bright?  What program or process is involved?  I would love to be able to "grunge up" some older models.

    In the most General terms:
    1. IliveReader (Tool).
Extracted from existing model figure 4 FSH and save them as PNG (this is usually the Instance with FSH 00030400, 00030410, 00030420,00030430).
    2. Adobe Photoshop (Tool).
Repaint and add new elements on all 4 PNG figures and save them.
    3. PNG to FSH Batch (Tool).
Translate 4 new PNG as a new 20 FSH files.
    4. IliveReader (Tool).
4.1. Remove 20 old FSH files from the model and insert a new 20 FSH.
4.2. Link value Group, Instance and save this as a new model file.

Thank you for your words of support. I've always admired your work on SC4 Devotion (ÆRDEN THEME).

Now I am preparing a great continuation of this topic. Police, firefighters, doctors, teachers and librarians are expected to arrive...

Nice, I like the flavor of your CJ. The style of your buildings and mpping is quite unique, it comes together well to create an interesting atmosphere. I feel like I'm taken back to a time when living was hard and the struggle to survive in a new land was a real challenge. Not that I'm personally familiar with such a lifestyle, but I do find it interesting when those themes are expressed well in SC4 as it is here.

Heck of a view from the flight in btw!

    wow! Just....wow!

The scale of this project.... It just blew my mind! I've never thought of this possibility. You are an inspiration now *:thumb:

Just how did you manage to put the overall island together? is it a mosaic of regions carefully knitted together? Or is it one big terraformer project (enough to coremeltdownoverload it) and then subdivided into sections? Or is it a secret government project?

I'll assign my most capable agents to keep an eye on this marvel ;)

@Takingyouthere Thank you for Your kind words. I really wanted to develop the game from the very beginning without ready connections with other regions.

I will make every effort to maintain the island of Santana.

    I wish you luck.

@kim026  Thank you for Your appreciation of my humble work. I am sure that You will succeed!

Now a few words about cartography…

    01. A large map of Santana island (2008-2011) was finally collected in 2011. I used a separate maps from STEX. Numerous main maps were created

    by master Drunkapple.

    02. Each map of the region has been modified by me for my interests.

    03. The regional maps were then assembled into a single Island map with vertical and horizontal overlaps.

The overlap of individual cities is made for the possibility of continuous development of the whole island.

I used standard tools for MAXIS SC4 without TERAFORMER.
