I just started Steam and I got the usual notification down at the bottom that something was updating, but it went really slow like it was something big, or several items. When it was done, I went to my browse my subscribed items and there were two things that updated. A small prop and a very small mod. But it seemed like more was happening.

Since it doesn't tell you when something is getting pulled from your subbed items, does anyone know if mods or assets got pulled from the workshop in the last day or two?

Ever since NGON pulling his whole inventory without warning, I'm anxious every time I start Steam that something is going to be yanked out of my list and I won't know until I've loaded a game and notice something's missing, or worse, saved a game without noticing.

I have too many assets to check, and unless there's another way to find out that I'm not aware of, I just figured I'd ask and see if anyone else is aware of any assets getting taken down.

Thanks.

Also, this thread could become possibly a repository for any time an asset is pulled, to let people know.

You sure that wasn't the recent Stadiums DLC? It's about 87mb if im not mistaken. All my subscribed items seems to in check but then again I have like less than a 100 stuff so I probably wouldn't notice.

I wondered about that, but I thought that was a paid DLC. Does it have non-paid content too? If so, that's probably what it was.

I use a program called Remove Empty Directories. It's useful for getting rid of the empty folders that get left behind when I unsubscribe from something, but it's also useful for alerting you if something's been deleted, as the empty folder would remain behind. As you most likely know, the folder names are their Workshop asset number, and most of the time you can Google this number to find out what the asset or mod was. Hope that makes sense.

Also, for the record, I got the large update today as well, but nothing has been deleted as far as I can tell.

(If you want to try that program, set it to scan this folder: D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\255710. Change the drive to whatever drive your game is on.)

Good to hear. I guess I'm just paranoid. I saw the progress bar down there taking a while and I just thought, oh great, what's being deleted?

I think DLC content will be downloaded whether you purchased it or not. You only pay for the license to use it/unlock the dlc content.

Every DLC comes with a free update containing bugfixes, optimizations etc. Some mods might be broken afterwards if the authors didn't particitate in the Beta program.

yea, this is pretty much the case, there might be some bugfixes in the update too that could affect certain mods. but not anything asset/building/vehicle model related.

Dunno what it was, but I think it broke the demand master mod.

So this happened to me again a couple of days ago, but this time something did indeed disappear. McDoman's McDonalds name sign and golden arches logo were removed from the workshop.

I really hate it when people just take an asset down. I loved these assets and used them for some customized buildings. Does anyone have these backed up?
