Prolly ought to just go with upside down (flip vertical) cause a side flip (horizontal) would just make a mirror image and really wouldn't look all that much different. *;)

Yo! Pilot! What the #@^& is going on?!?

It did the same for me and I gazed at it for a long time. Mostly I could only see it looking really weird. With practice tho I could make it flip mentally with ease. To get it to look right, albeit upside down, I focus on the building fronts while sort of moving my view left and a little up and then roofs seem to snap into place as being the top of the buildings. Focus again on the roofs only and sort of look down and they become weird patios again.

Historical note: This is part of my first large city tile to reach 100k population in vanilla without having any traffic congestion. I'd have to find the region and check the date, but I'm pretty sure it was just before I joined ST.

What's so special about these pictures of Australian cities?

I feel like I am falling into Cori's picture

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

It's weird because sometimes i find they look inside-out, but that's the weirdness of the isometric view i guess.
I guess this thread is being revived? I'll post something.

Apparently so. And that new pic of yours adds a lot more to the weirdness than your first one. ;)

I notice that while the roads seem unaffected, the trees just eat them up like a lot of bad storms hit and they all fell onto the road :P
Also, it looks like land slopes up for water too, hmm.
