Dawn of Humanity is a town-building strategy game that puts you in control as you experience the growth and development of your hunter-gatherer tribal settlement into a prosperous town fit for a modern civilization. Starting in 10,000 BC, you must ensure that you evolve and grow your village through the perils of prehistoric Stone Age to the challenges and opportunities presented by the late Middle Ages up to the Renaissance era. The player will have a choice of four different civilizations and cultures in which to develop their town that will be based on the climate and geographical location of the original settlement. To secure victory, the player must ensure that all available resources are used to their best potential in order to have a healthy, happy and productive population who will be the backbone of your success.

I do like the era this game will portray. What are the system requirements? I either missed that or it's not there. Will it be mod-able like sc4 and/or csl?

Hi! the game is still pre-alpha at the moment, so we're not currently sure of the system requirements, but we're working to make it as efficient as possible. We do think it will have close to the system requirements that csl has. We will post more information as we go forward.

    Well, phooey.

My game comps can run sc4 extremely well on plain vanilla. I'll be learning how they do with all the fixes and mods I want. The one thing I do know is they laughed themselves silly when I told them the requirements for csl. Any game even halfway between my setup and csl's minimalist playground size is just not going to run for me. (I have XP on a 2.8ghz single core with 64meg vid and 128, or maybe it's a wee bit bigger (I forget), in the other comp which has a 3.something dual core, but I tell it to let one of them sleep. (I do wonder if it matters which core I use or even if that is selectable.))

I'll continue tracking this thread out of curiosity. My current comps vary year to year as I gobble up other peep's has-beens at garage sales, flee markets, and such. :)

If any of your team has created mods, or whatevers (I'm still learning the lingo), for sc4 or csl then I feel that'd be a Real Good Thing to post linkys to on this site. (You know, sort of introduce your skills in a manner many Simtropolites will relate to well.) ;)

Unfortunately, it most likely won't run on your current PC. We haven't created any mods for city building games before, but you can check out, if you haven't yet, the KS page, where the video and screenshots are from within the game. We've also posted some screenshots of a few models as well :)

We do appreciate your support and if you have any other questions or feedback, it's highly appreciated and we look forward to it

I did indeed check out your website prior to my initial post. ;)

As far as suggestions go, maybe edit in your favorite screenshot(s) to the bottom of your first post. Some peeps like a visible lure before clicking a linky. My fav would be:

^ (Let me know if you prefer that I don't link your image.)

I've been a member here for a bit over a month. I've gotten the impression Simtropolis is one of the major hubs for some of the city building games. (I'm here for sc4.) I believe a significant part of ST is active in modding and whatever add-ons. If your game will have that option at some point, I feel it'd be a winning aspect of the overall project.

Oh, and another part which intrigues me is: " Terrain generator with over 1,000,000 unique maps and sandbox mode". (I do wonder if the over part is 48,576.)

I will be posting some screenshots once we update the graphics a bit. We haven't discussed the possibility of letting people mod the game yet, so I don't have an aswer to that at the moment. Also, in regards to the terrain generator; we've created our own terrain generator in which you have 12 climates and you can choose a terrain seed from 000,000 to 999,999 :)

Also, sorry for the late response
