Hello everbody,

I love RICO proppable mod, but many buildings don't fit into that mod, so I think, someone else can do this! I think I can release that if authors haven't got any problems :D.

I made 3 buidligs for test; Warehouse dark and Colossal Mills.

 

I was thinking about some big offices like WTC. What do you think?

Those are definately buildings that would make sense with RICO. If you haven't already I suggest you message the creators (or comment on the buildings if you can't message them directly) and ask if it's okay. You might not get a response back if they don't play/check anymore, but at least this way you decrease the chance of them being upset (and wanting you to take it down). :) I do believe @AJ3D was planning on updating RICO with the ability to set options for buildings ourselves, so there wouldn't be a need to reupload assets like this, but I have no idea when we might see that. :)

Oh thats pretty badass!  I love the level of control (more like real world) we get over planning,  you can do a proper PUD / SRUD, and larger complex layouts with these and loads of other stuff not possible with Vanilla game, RICO mod is one of my all time favorites.  Those planed features sound epic, thanks so much for creating & sharing this!

    So I'll ask authors this assets for release.

    I have one question. It's possbile to add this on Steam Workshop and when someone subscribe them, this overwirte previous buildings (I mean without RICO)? Or just release them and you must manually change buildings in the city?

    They would have to be manually changed as they'd get a different ID. Only the original upload would override and even that requires the names to be 100% the same.

    I think it is possible to release a "patch mod" that adds the RICO settings to existing buildings. @AJ3D knows more about that.

    It would be neat to see a few more existing assets to have the setting applied to them.

     @mati555, I took a look and made my own XML for One World Trade Center and this is the result.... keeping in mind I used the Realistic Population mod. It might be a little heavy ;)

    And the next screenshot that follows..... It shouldn't need an explanation.  :D  (It might need it's own entry in the Realistic Population Mod to reduce it)

    Get any high crime or traffic insanity resulting from that?  Did it suck out every available worker in the area? lol

    Don't think I've seen any crime at all for that building yet, however there's a police station around the corner. The traffic only piled up if there were sick or dead people that needed to be picked up.

    It did draw in a lot of people from all over the city (edit: And my industrial demand went to zero). Once it settled I could observe that the number of workers continuously changes, slowly dropping by about a thousand before shooting back up. The screenshot I have added occurs each time a metro train pulls up at the nearby station.

    I don't use the Rush Hour mod, so I imagine with that active it could hurt the city quite badly.

    I was thinking about WTC in parts from BoldlyBuilding, because one building with over 10000 work place is too much xD. But good job!

    I am still waiting for anwser from warehouses author. Factory author is happy, I can release it. :)

     

    @AJ3D, Do you know how publicate only .xml file?

    Or someone know how to publicate someone assets? (I can't publicate for example Colossal Mills)

    Ah, found the thread, and well - thank you for this mod. I am using some warehouses now, and it is soo much better to have working buildings with realistic sizes. The whole  planning makes more sense.

    And yeah, I would also appreciate the colossal mill as a RICO building!

    Was doing a bit of extra testing of buildings and I thought I'd give you what I have found. I've attached a screenshot of a few buildings turned ploppable and yes, those numbers have been cut down a little bit.

    I can't shake the crime though. About 2% of the 7% is in that block, but I only notice it when I go into the crime overlay.

    I wonder is there's some area to toggle crime rate potentials, ive seen this come up on several assets over the last year.  I wouldn't want to take it away entirely but it does seem a bit excessive, unless that's wall st? hahaa!

    All my buildings will be ploppable RICO but will have to be collaborations in order to get full quality textures. Or I might be able to upload my handful of buildings during or after Mothers' Day weekend.

    It would have to be a mod and I could look into it to reduce the rates for "excessively" large buildings ( > 300 people). Or just put those buildings down a one way road, put the police station at the start. The police patrol should take care of them as it drives past

    I know you were joking about Wall St, there's the One World Trade Center, 60 Wall St, Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai and the Bank of America building. So financial district buildings. :P

    Interesting ill try that trick with the one way, good idea.  Perhaps a mod would need to do it, some probability maths somewhere, my brain hurts imagining that bit!
    lol. the banksters man... wall st is so great & useful and yet so susceptible to corruption, depending on your character those two paradigms aren't mutually exclusive.
