"Mom, why is my computer broken again?"
"Probably because of a car."
"Mom, why do we live on a highway?"
"The price was cheap."
"Mom, what happened to my bed?"
"Don't worry, it's on that freight truck."
"Along with the safe?"
"The safe? Oh sh-"
"Mom?" [pause] "Mom?" [longer pause] "Mo-AHHHHHHHHHHHHH..."

We couldn't buy out the owners of the apartment for our new Highway, so we are now renting the 3rd floor.

Lol, I tried U-drive-thru-it™
it works9.gif
UdriveTruIt.jpg

The cars of the inhabitants of the appartment are parked below so I guess they just drive up the stairs if they wanna get to work1.gif
I also tried querying the building, which was obviously a bad idea because the game crashed to windows as soon as I moved the questionmark over that building
so no idea what their commute times are

Maybe you UK guys may remember this, but wasn't there an episode of "The Goodies" where they drove their house down the road?

"Eckie-Thump!"

Where did you find that mod, anyway? I've tried looking, and never found one.

This works with simcity4 windowed mode; havent tried it full screen yet...

Anyway the upside down city does kinda make sense. Look at the roads, vehicles and the baseball stadium seats and you can see why it looks confusing.

You're right. NVRotate is completely screwed up. I'm operating on it right now, and I'm baffled.

Search for "Arctic Terrain Mod" up in the search box, and go back to the beginning of the thread and read until he posts the mod, a little ways down on the first page.  There is a link there.

In reply to The Goodies. I haven't seen that in years. They had it on in Southern California in the eighties. What a great show. Would like the chance to see it again. Whenever I ask any of my friends about it, they look at me like I was crazy. Sorry to stray off-topic. Wow, this is probably my first post here.

Okay, we've seen plenty of lots up in the air, but this one just makes me laugh whenever I see it.

I do that all the time and somehow the firestation still works

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

And one more while I'm here. I guess I should've added it to the first post, but oh well.

Someone in the Census Bureau needs to talk to someone else:

Actually, I'm pretty certain this is a bug or something.  This is the only city in the region that experiences this problem.  The region view shows 87,789 as well, but for some reason, the line graph is always 10k higher.  Only mods I'm using are transportation fixes v019 and the perfect pathfinding.

This is something I saw right after I replaced a parallel road and street with one way streets.

I guess it's good, because the commute time will go way down. The shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line. It may slow the cars down when they drive throught the building, though.

Cool city. You could make something out of that in the city journals forum. But this thread is more for funny SC4 screen shots, so try to stay more on-topic.

That's what makes SimCity 4 so great. Its graphics are so realistic, that even still images look like they are moving. Keep up the good work Maxis!1.gif

I was wondering about the tank scenario for RH. How do you get so many tanks to follow you like in a pic in 16 of tons of battletanx surounding a khaki tank. How do you do that? I forgot exactly who submitted t post but it was cool!
