It's around 24C (75F) today, with the night temperature estimated to be around 17C (62F). Very sunny and dry, aswell. Temperatures are expected to increase dramatically over the next few days here (Ireland).

Friday - 24C (75F)

Saturday - 25C (77F)

Sunday - 26C (78F)

Monday - 28C (82F)

Tuesday - 31C (87F)

Sun and high pressure will be dominant aswell, though thunderstorms around the counties of Galway/Mayo expected on Sunday night.

Apparently this is one of the hottest summers on record in Europe, and one of the driest.

Here in Central California, it's supposed to be 100 today... much better then the 110 degree temps last weekend!  It's been overcast a lot this week, though.

They said Houston is suppose to be flooding because the training and standing-still thunderstorms this weekend. Hopefully we won't have the massive flooding here like we did last week... phew, that was almost worse than Tropical Storm Allison.

In Ottawa, Canada, we have been having rain and thunderstorms for the past few days... with hot humid periods in between. I bet we will get more of the same today, just by how it looks outside. The worst storm was on July 3rd. Strong winds, hail, rain, thunder, lightning, flooding... For some pics of the havoc it caused, see the Ottawa Sun Photo Gallery.

In Sheffield, UK its boiling today (for us) , about 29 degrees (84 farenheit), about 60% humidity and we have no air conditioning like most other parts of the world which compounds the heat.

Its been like this for about a week but normally its around 22degrees in summer, 15degrees in autumn, 5 degrees in winter and 13degrees in spring. It rains most weeks but not half as much as people think and it hardly ever snows in winter (apart from in the Peak District National Park, yep about a third of Sheffield city is in a national park)

Well, some places in my neighborhood looks like this:

stormblgside2fe.jpg

and where did all that siding go?  Turns out it's in the trees:

and, yes, those are three stories townhouses in the background.

Other trees in the area look like this:

More storms and "microbursts" expected today.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

High 90s (F) for the rest of the week. For the past two weeks it was in the low 100s (F).

I would also like to make known my displeasure with whoever created the fahrenheit/celsius scale (circle whichever one was invented second). 3.gif
