After 7 years of crash free playing, over the last week ive experienced two bugs which have literally ruined my experience playing
The first was prop pox which is well documented on this and other forums. This ruined the centre piece of a region that i had been working on since 2009.
Therefore i started another region, i reorgnised and slimmed down my plugins so that i wouldnt get prop pox. However i then started getting the CTD that the OP desribed. Once every 10-20 mins, i would get a CTD when attempting to lay a road or avenue on virigin terrain. After a little testing i realised that if i dragged a road on a particular tile it would CTD. If i bulldozed the tile even if there was nothing there, i would no longer have a CTD. This was after
exiting and reloading the city and dragging a road in the exact same posistion. However this did not really help as the CTD occured every 5-10 minutes. After a little more testing i figured that if dragged over trees, the CTD would occur, where as if i bulldozed the trees and then placed the roads, the CTD would not occur.
To ensure that it wasnt a conflict with another plugin, i isolated all my plugins apart from the NAM and Cycledogg's tree controller (which was the tree mod i was using). Lo and behold when i dragged a road or avenue over the tile, the CTD occured.
This made no sense as i have used these mods for years. I then realised that i had oblitered this city before the CTD occured. As Further testing has revelaed that i dont get this CTD in any other city, i theorised that it could be something to to with obliterating a city and then rebuilding. or dragging roads where terrain had previously being built on. I therefore started a new city (with no CTD due to dragging roads), obliteated and then started to build again. I got CTD's again when dragging roads.
To conclude, it appears that in my case the dragging road CTD occurs when you obliterate a city and rebuild it.
