Should I give the balconies railings? Any other suggestions?

Thank you for the feedback! I have decided to put that building on the backburner for a while. I just remade a building I previously made (inspired by buildings that show up in Civilization Beyond Earth in cities following the Purity Affinity) today.

I attempted to make a domed building with the edges of the dome supported by columns but I couldn't get the columns in the right position in a reasonable time frame.

I made new versions of my Le Corbusier inspired modernist condominium in 12, 18, and 24 housing floor varieties with green roofs and a 16 housing floor variety with a cement roof.

UPDATE: I darkened the roof for the modernist courtyard housing and made two new versions of the skyscraper I previously uploaded.

Nice work! Though it seems like there is a problem with the roof texture.

Thanks for the feedback @AmiPolizeiFunk and @boformer! The geometry is highly repetetive but it looks good in modernist buildings so I was able to use a 1024x512 px texture for the housing and 1024x1024 for the offices despite large surface area. The green roofs have a small problem with lower resolution/mipmapped textures where the green of the grass blends with the adjacent cement texture. That problem was reduced by moving the vertices in the uv map over to the middle of the 2nd pixel inwards (instead of to the very edge of the outer pixel. In 3ds Max (no matter settings) and the asset editor zoomed in with max settings, the green roof looks like solid grass. Zoomed out, the seams become visible. I guess I could fix it by moving the vertices further.

 

I also take requests/suggestions for inspiration. My next projects will be an urban mall (5 storey-tall galleria based off one in Cities XL) with a green roof and high rise condominiums with green roofs. I might try my hand at cyberpunk architecture with eco-friendly features.

OK, I decided to just give the tallest one a sandstone texture

I reuploaded the middle-height one with a darker stone texture, a subtly mottled (and darkened) patina and darker, less saturated color variation.

I want to start working on more 12x12 courtyard condominiums (with ground floor lobby or commerce and 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 residential floor varieties) and a 6x12 or 8x12 urban shopping mall (where you could place parking on the sides) but I need inspiration for new buildings. I could easily make the 3, 6, 9, and 15 storey versions of what I’ve already made but I want to experiment with other styles.

I made 9-story and 6-storey (plus lobby) versions of my green roof condos and used the new greenery props but my mods refuse to update so I can't make them RICO compatible. In the meantime, I started making a コ shaped apartment complex based off a picture of a proposal I saw in chat.

 

The problem is that I don't know what to do about the roof.

How do you think I should texture the roof?

My current project is a mall, based loosely off one in Cities XL.

The mall has an interior so I will have to use some transparency for the center part (glass roof and entrance)
