Fantastic idea and execution!

On another note: can I use your fire escape props on my new tower? It'll save me tons of time, geometry, and texture space :D

It would be cool if you could extract the animated horses from the riding stable and make them available.

Hey, would it be possible to release the Kales building as a growable?

    Dont know yet, maybe.

    Something rather big:

Singer Building LOD, description will be there soon, have to catch a train :D :

    iYHHHtP.jpg

    Ok:

I used a 120k triangle highres model from the 3d warehouse as a reference, to get the measurements right. To get the textures, I replaced or rescaled most textures from the original model and rendered all facade elements needed. ( https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=b6e550cfb48e51477752bd0cec0c2a35 )

There are plenty of small facade-details missing, and neither colors nor saturation are right, though the basic UV layout wont change. Thats why I decided to start modeling. It will be fixed during the process.

Talking triangles,... puhhh not gonna lie, its a very, very complicated building with a unice shape, hard to remain if you cut too much details. Right now, im at 1,2k (for the LOD!) but the crown is still not modeled, so I guess I will end up with 1,3k. About 85% of these triangles are part of the tower, with around 270 for each side (allmost everything in the top 6 floors). I will leave it like that for now, and once the main model is finished, I will observe the switch between Main and LOD ingame and check, if I can ged rid of some triangles. Maybe reduce it to under 1k. But since its a ploppable wich will most likely only placed once per city, even 1,3 are okayish for me.

    Thats about it for now.

Spare no expense on that beauty! So far the tri count you're at is way lower than most buildings of this kind. Just do it justice without gimping quality. Like you said, we will only be plopping one per city. It's not like it's a growable.  :D

Awww, and I was planning to build a 'Coop City'-like district with rows and rows of Singer Buildings :(

J/k, I think most highly detailed unique buildings have a pretty beefy tri count, so it should be okay. As Mr_Maison said, cutting corners on this gem of a building would be a shame.

Thanks, happy you like it :)
Some progress: LOD is kind of finished, mainmodel is going very slowly. I think this will end up at atleast 15k.

    That looks just... wow!

Question: once done, would it be much work to isolate the low-rise section and upload that to the Workshop separately (maybe even with color versions)? Apart from the fact that we can never have enough corner buildings, it would be a perfect companion to your 151 Central Park corner building

Not much work, though it cant be a growable, because of the 5x5 size.

151 Central Park will be updated soon too btw, working on new textures (and actually may use some decorative elements from that building to decorate the Singer building, they have some simularities) 151 Central Park will be 4x5, as its real counterpart.

Nice, I really, really love that asset, despite the somewhat blurry textures (I think it was the very first NYC-style asset I ever subscribed to)!
Making them Unique Buildings is unavoidable I guess, but perhaps AJ3D's PloppableRICO mod could come to the rescue (so they serve as high density residential buildings in-game)? No idea how much work it would be, though...

I still can't get enough of the building with a triangle roof. It is gorgeous. Will have to add to my to-do list.

Oh sry, I overread this :(

The buildings are not finished, mostly nightlightning is missing, also I made no L1 and in some cases L2 buildings, so they have no growchain.

What do you mean with triangle roof?

Thanks :) around 15k main / 1,5k LOD, but its not a final version, not even started cleaning up things or adding additional detail to the texture. Just released it so I can do some other stuff until I find the time and interest to properly clean the model. Still 15k is not too much for a ~190m 6x5 Beaux-Art Skyscraper :D

    Dude.

Why make us feel so inadequate heh?

I don't want to go on 2 hours of sleep every other night for the next six weeks.

    Please make it stop!

Love them (just like the rest of the set)! And I'm impressed by the low tris count - nice size for growables and I don't even feel like you've cut down detail I'd miss. Keep up the awesome work. :D (Time to expand my Brooklyn-themed districts!)

Awesome! This is the kind of thing I've been waiting for. Light industrial without smoke stacks. Not everything has smoke stacks. I hope to make good use of these and I look forward to the next batch.

I've really enjoyed your commercial set and I'm anxious to get your industrial set in my city. I'm hoping you release a few more sets of commercial and industrial because they're so useful.

Yeah, these are really lovely, for exactly the reason The King ( :D ) gave - they just fit so much better in an urban environment than the vast majority of industrial assets available. And that at such a small file size!
So thank you once more for all your hard work and sublime assets, Feindbild!

    Thanks :)

I may need some help with this one:
    pYOmqpx.jpg

I need help for 2 things, at first the asset should appear inside the tram section.
Its a 1x2 overhanging unice for now, so there is no pavement on 2/3s of the building, if possible, I would like to add some.
