It's worth noting that starting with NAM 31, the NWM, RHW, SAM, RAM, or any NAM plugin will no longer be available as separate downloads. Everything NAM pulgin is planned to be merged together into one package, called the Monolithic NAM.

As of NWM-SAM crosslinkage,... That may take a while...

NWM crosslinkage is probably the highest priority with regard to further SAM expansion. The RULs/paths aren't the hangup so much . . . it's the textures.

Alright then I must be missing something else, this is probably the right place to ask since I have seen these pieces used in cooperation with the TuLEP pieces.

There are starter pieces for regular 2 lane roads with a turn lane median and 4 lane avenues with a turn lane median and so on, do you know where I can find these? Sorry for bugging everyone I just picked up SimCity 4 after hearing news of the new game coming out and am getting ready!

[EDIT]: Nevermind, NWM (Network Widening Mod) I found it. Thank you all for helping me anyway! Look out for a CJ by me! :)

Take a look at the hype for the new game. I don't think it has much relation to the fully advanced SC4 most of us play.

Regarding this, how would I find the path files in Reader? What are the IDs?

Also,

bobn9b3b352jan001340805.th.png

bobn9b3b352jan001340805.th.png

These are missing paths as well (Haven't tried the T-end Slip Lane, but the Highway Tram-in-Avenue interchange works.)

EDIT: I was checking in SimCity_1.dat and noticed one .S3D file was a T-Stack Interchange. Those weren't in the base game, were they?

EDIT2 My SimCity_1.dat is 144,547,650 bytes in size, 144,547,840 on disk. Is this right?

I'm not getting any help on this, am I?

What makes you say that? Patience is a virtue.. It may take some time for someone who has enough knowledge on the issue to read this thread and reply. We all have lives you know. :P

What the NAM (RHW and such) really need is a grey asphalt mod. I have spent over a year (no exaggeration) looking for this. Does this even exist because it should. What I am talking about is instead of black asphalt highways, roads, and avenues, I would love to have a grey asphalt version of everything. I usually build tropical cities and suburbs (like Miami) but the black asphalt roads look odd with the background and setting of the city. Please, if this exists, send me a link or anything, I want grey asphalt roads.

TL;DR: I want a grey asphalt NAM and RHW mod.

Removed unnecessary caps and rephrased it a bit. Please, keep in mind that unnecesary use of Caps Lock is not much tolerated here.

1. We don't.

2. Texture mods are third-party, and therefore fall outside of standard NAM Dev.

3. It takes months to modify thousands of textures; It's never easy.

4. Rude much...?

If some kind-hearted adventurer should happen to want to do this, I should think that what you want is not gray asphalt, but very light brown concrete textures. Highways around Phoenix, AZ at the time I lived there for one summer (in the 1970s) were concrete and had cat's eyes on the road stripes for night visibility. Very chic.

The problem is my copy is version 1.1.613.0, which is virtually unheard of, and may be an unauthorized manufactured copy of an R&D version for all we know. We'd have to ask EA about it.

1.1.613.0 is a European pressing, presumably with Unicode text compatibility, which the US version doesn't have.

Use the UK English/German/French/[insert other continental European language here] patch (SKU2 I think) and then the Nightlights Patch and it'll update fine.

Okay, a few more things I found today.

melvinville5jan00134095.th.png

Red paths for some reason

largetile1jan0013409536.th.png

Are roads actually able to have puzzle pieces? I think I heard something about how you used Rail for something.

largetile1jan0013409543.th.png

Outer corners are missing paths on OWR-4, also, the inner corners don't want to draw for some reason

1. Red non-flashing paths that go in the opposite direction are debug paths for the construction vehicles. They disappear after city reload and/or if you update the tile without spawning construction vehicles.

2. Those are starter "false intersections," which can be of any network type + the network in question. They are - you may be thinking about DDRHW-4, which is rail based for capacity reasons.

3. Dunno.

I don't know what to put here anymore.

I believe the rails have to do with that infinite automata noise glitch, which is why I brought it up.

I think you have to patch your game, and try all that again. The NAM documentation clearly states you must have the EP1 patch at least.

As far as I am aware, it has everything to do with that. It's not an issue we can fix.

As for the pathing issues, install the SKU2-EP1 patch and check back with us.

I apologize, I did not mean to be rude. I know this exists because I have seen someone have grey textured highways.

Doesn't mean it's available to the public... I've seen at few, but to this day, none have ever have gotten any farther than being a simple proof-of-concept.

Are you sure you didn't just see regular game roads and such re-textured - not RHW? Those types of things are available.

...To name a couple. Just a thought...

Actually screenshots of RHW 5.0 with a concrete (grey) reskin mod do exist. Some have been made, but they are in early alpha builds and only apply to specific RHW types and/or puzzle pieces.

The NAM has been working great for me, but when I'm in region transportation view, the color of the non-highway roads will be black in some cities and the white that it's supposed to be in other city tiles. I was wondering if there are any mods or fixes to this minor problem in order to make the streets and roads show up white in transportation view like they're supposed to. Thanks.

If you have the RHW and installed the Regional Transport View mod that comes with it,...

Q: Why are all my roads black?

A: If you do not open any of the dataviews before saving the game, the map will be rendered incorrectly resulting in all car traffic networks showing up as the highway color.

Be sure to read the readme; Chances are, it has the answer.

So I've downloaded the latest NAM version and my commute time graph has change from minutes (0-60) to some unknown unit (0-2.0). I was thinking this was hours, but my commute time is considered short by all my sims. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix it?

The number is still minutes, and it's actually much more accurate than the previous number. (Maxis took the actual number and multiplied it by 25 to make it look more reasonable.) However, the commute time graph is fundamentally unreliable, and it is broken in a way that we cannot fix. Fortunately, with the NAM, commute time does not have the central importance it did with the original Maxis traffic simulator. The Sims can take the time they need to get to work. The only time you will get residences abandoned due to commute time is when jobs suitable for the Sims' wealth and education levels do not exist, or if you have a big city without sufficient rapidly transit (typically this means lots of subways and stops). For checking out your traffic, the best tools are the Route Query Tool and the Traffic Data Views, both Congestion and Volume.

Hi, guys! This is my first post in this forum. So, if I'm posting this in the wrong place, please sorry me.

Well, I installed the NAM mod and the Real High Way, but I can't use it. :(

When I select one NAM piece into the game, the mouse arrow turns to red and is impossible to place any NAM piece in the city. However, elevated highways and all the interchanges works perfectly. Any guys knows what is going on here? Thank you!
