Hello, I am a little new to modding sim city 4 and I have gotten the general gist of how it works, but I saw that there is possibly a way to make traffic STOP disappearing. I saw some mods and tried installing them and they havent worked. I was just curious on how to install them and what I have to do. I have NAM installed, and if I could get step by step how and a link to one that will work I would really appreciate it. thank you.

I'm not sure there is anything much you can do about this, it's just the way the game is programmed since automata such as cars are mere eye candy, partially there to show where congestion appears in your cities. It's not like any of these vehicles are going from one place to another, they spawn, travel for a bit and then disappear as a result. There is a mod by FatherTed to make the number of tiles they appear for longer, but I find the reduction in vehicle numbers to be undesirable.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

In the NAM custom installer, under controller automata type click 'persistent automata'.

It is possible but I guarantee that if you really want to play SC4 it will be very undesirable.

You also should not make the same post in more than one section of the forum. it does not help.

There's this this option as Nonny said. You've to do a custom installation, then you have to check all the boxes to find this option of automatas.

Yes the persistant Automata mod does increase the number of cars you will see, but they still disappear pretty quickly, Father Teds recent Automata mod does a better job here, you just see far less traffic overall as a result.

Since the number of cars in the display and their duration is strictly eye-candy, I fail to see why it matters.  The game is an exercise in problem solving, and not a toy to watch automata run around the display.

However, whatever floats your boat.  It's your machine and your CPU cycles.
