did you just drag a single road? if so, you need to drag another one right next to it, and it will appear.

Thank you for this great reply. I really appreciate it.

I definitely installed the optional ANT network, and also the NAM Essentials. And I've played with the RHW before extensively, so I know how to lay it. :-)

I think you hit the nail on the head - I think the new mod is conflicting with something in my Plugins. I will try your procedure when I get home from work tonight to see if it works. Also, I'm gonna make sure the RHW's .dat file is in the NAM folder. Is that correct?

THANK YOU SO MUCH. If there was some sort of "reputation" to give, I'd give it to you in a heartbeat. Also, it's a testament to how much I love the RHW that my Simcity playing has literally stopped in its tracks while I fix this problem.

Originally posted by: haljackey Hmm... When you downloaded the new NAM, did you install the ANT Network? Its an optional plugin! This may be your problem!

If the answer is yes, it gets more complicated im afraid!

It looks like you may have a conflicting issue with some of your plugins. Something that was compatible with the old NAM/RHW is now incompatible with the newer files. This happened to me, eek!

The best way to solve this problem is to move all the files in your plugins folder elsewhere. Then redownload the NAM (Installing the ANT network, too!) , the NAM: Essentials file, and then the RHW network. Make sure that the RHW folder is IN your NAM folder. Then, run the game, preferably in a new city. The RHW network should work properly.

Then, theres the painstaking task of moving all your plugins back into your folder to see who the violator is. Try sorting out possible incompatible files from the rest and put these back, in blocks at a time. If one block disrupts the RHW, then you can look into that "block" and find the offender.

Now, if THAT doesn't work, I would suggest you have a look at the readme file to make sure you didn't miss anything, unless someone else has a possible solution!

Best of luck Johnnyman7!

Hey everyone, I have a problem. I installed everything you need for the rural highway. Only thing is, it doesnt work when I have two roads perpendicular to each other. Do I have to go through all of my plug-ins?

1. Did you install the July 2007 NAM?

2. Did you choose to install the ANT plugin while installing the NAM?

3. Did you install the NAM Essentials Addon?

4. Did you install the RHW plugin?

5. Are you using the ANT tool instead of the Road tool? If all installation went correctly, there should be a RHW icon in the Highways menu.

I had the same problem with all of the correct plugins.  One thing that may be overlooked however, is some have problems with the NAM Essentials on the STEX causing conflict with the RHW for some reason.  I'd recommend the NAM Essentials from SC4Devotion.

Keep calm and take photographs.

1. Did you install the July 2007 NAM?

Yes.

2. Did you choose to install the ANT plugin while installing the NAM?

Yes. Used it without RHW with much success.

3. Did you install the NAM Essentials Addon?

? I think so - what are the files that are in it?

4. Did you install the RHW plugin?

Yes.

5. Are you using the ANT tool instead of the Road tool? If all installation went correctly, there should be a RHW icon in the Highways menu.

Yes.

Everything seems to work, except I can never get a four-lane road to spawn. I just end up with two neat-looking two-lane rural highways next to each other (much better than the plain ANT tool)

;-;

Crissa: In order for the RHW network to work and function, TWO sections of the ANT Tool (RHW network) need to be dragged side by side for at least 3 tiles. The two networks must be directly parallel to eachother, and if this is done, the RHW network should appear.

If that doesn't work, I suggest looking in your plugins for an error or reading the included README.

I hope this helps,

The included readme is not highly detailed. ;-;

How would I know what I could be missing? I tested it after taking out all other plugins except the network tool and the highway tool.

PS: Here's the directory listing of the network tools I have installed. Am I missing something?

I'm certain it's not working because it won't link with one-way and has a yellow stripes, and doesn't link straight into avenue, it makes kinda broken looking roads.

On that note, why can't I activate it by linking it with avenue or one way or highway directly if the mergy is broke anyway?

Curiously, I'm also missing the cardinal direction one-way arrow tiles. (north south east west) but have the diagonal ones.

Hmm... Well Im Stumped.    I would try posting here where the RHW designers check on a regular basis.

https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=990.0

You will have to set up an account @ SC4 Devotion in order to post there though.

Does anyone have a better idea?

It would be faster if someone who could post there would link to my post with the attachment... o-o

I don't see what I'm missing, the roads just don't react to anything they're next to. I've tried adding or subtracting various NAM files, but so far, no luck.

Why don't they link to one-way or highway pieces, anyhow?

-sigh- First off did you uninstall the old NAM files and use the BSC Cleanitol? 2nd off the read me is perfectly fine perhaps if you read it more accurately you may actually have an idea how to use it. It appears that is the case that you did not follow directions and uninstall any old NAM stuff. Please try again.

Did you install the essentials before you installed the RHW? Also if you drag a section of ANT not next to ANT, what does it look like? Image would be helpful. Edit: can you please post an image of RHW icon, in-game.

No other NAM files exist other than the ones in NAMdir.txt. Cleanitol? It's not a script, so I can't adapt it, but there is a list of file names. At any rate, I've uninstalled every other plugin for this screenshot - even the ANT extra texture.

2nd off the read me is perfectly fine perhaps if you read it more accurately you may actually have an idea how to use it.
RHW readme merely says to pull out two lines next to each other. I've done this repeatedly. The NAM readme is fairly complex, and could use some cleaning - did I miss something in it? I don't see anything I've missed.

I know he did, but he didn't post a picture of the ANT not next to ANT, or the RHW icon.
I did post a picture of RHW both four-lane attempt and two-lane. Here's another. Also the tool you requested.

Does anyone have a link to an uncorrupted non-exe version of the essentials file(s)? Maybe that's the problem.

PS - Crissa is a female name, as is my icon.

/Applications/Games/SimCity 4 Deluxe/SimCity 4 Data/Plugins/NetworkAddonMod/Network Addon Mod:

NetworkAddonMod1.dat

NetworkAddonMod2.dat

NetworkAddonMod3.dat

NetworkAddonMod4.dat

NetworkAddonMod5.dat

NetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.dat

NetworkAddonMod_Controller.dat

NetworkAddonMod_IndividualNetworkRULs.dat

-- from NAMdir.txt

Now, the file I'm worried about is this:

/Applications/Games/SimCity 4 Deluxe/SimCity 4 Data/Plugins/_props/NAM Essentials:

total 568

-rw-r--r-- 1 stacey admin 24810 May 31 18:44 NetworkAddonMod_Essentials_June_2007[173724]-26.dat

-rw-r--r-- 1 stacey admin 226349 May 31 18:44 NetworkAddonMod_Essentials_June_2007[192050]-28.dat

-rw-r--r-- 1 stacey admin 31267 May 31 18:44 NetworkAddonMod_Essentials_June_2007[342493]-30.dat

Do these look right?
