Happened to me. My largest city is unplayable due to some sort of corruption.

It was the first city I showed in the GTR. Thanks to the Simtropolis Site Hack in 2008, nearly all the pics are gone, and I can't take any more screenshots :(

Although I do have some super old pics on some external drive somewhere, but that won't let me play the city itself.

I know that feeling..

I once had a computer that was quick, load times weren't too bad and I put hours upon hours of work into my cities. The motherboard shorted out and I lost everything.

I now work on a fallback computer and I have the game on a flash drive which I take everywhere with me so at least I can play on different computers.

All my cities and plugins were gone plus some early BATs were lost. Granted I have all of my first downloads plus a truckload of new modds that would make better cities than before, but I can't work like this forever.. If anything, my flash drive is my lifeline for SC..

^translation?

Even a child of 8 year old playing SimCity 2000 knows that raising taxes, this happens:

First photo showing slums.

And if low taxes, the following happens:

Second photo showing arcologies and a developed society.

SimCity 2000: someone is playing with us, and bad.

I do not remember how taxes affect development in SimCity 2000 and I forgot what subir meant but I was able to take it from context.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

@TekindusT, :thumb: you're right, at least he's not in urban development. One of the comments in ¡CR! says that he should play SC2k, I agree, all the politicians should play SC (2k or 4) at least one time in their lives. What is swag?

¡¿?! Subir: RAE Translation: upload, raise, gain, go up... in this case raise. The government is raising the taxes.

Swag is short for swagger though it could also mean merchandise. Swagger is a "cool" style based off those that walk funny (with a swagger).

What is swag?

Although it isn't exclusively used for this purpose, "swag" is usually used in conjunction with flashy, expensive items or promotional gifts and freebies handed out at various events and functions. The engineering career fair I've been to before hands out a small plastic bag so attendees have something to carry around the various brochures and freebies that the recruiters hand out. It is jokingly referred to as the "swag bag."

Same in Greece as well. All governments and the guys of I.M.F. MUST play Simcity and stop play with us.

The problem is, of course, if you put taxes too low then you can't afford anything.

The solution, however, is obvious. Type "fund" twice, then issue a bond through the budget screen, and repay the first two bonds. Free money.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

@Alejandro24: At least Rajoy isn't in charge of city planning. It's something.

@all: LOL!

The next time some egomaniac at my school says they have swag, I'm going to say this. :P

^ Are you sure this isn't troll logic?

It's a 100% legitimate (read: cheat) way of generating money in SimCity 2000. For some reason bond rates are a signed integer, and taking out two bonds at 25% interest forces an integer overflow. The bond you take out through the budget screen thus has negative interest, giving you money every month. Then you repay the first two so as to not pay the exorbitant interest on them.
