I thought it might be interesting to find out what websites people here enjoy visiting (aside from ST and other Sim sites obviously).

You can give us the Site name, address, what the site is about, and maybe why you like it.

I'll kick off with some of my favourites.

IMDb - http://www.imdb.com/

I think most people will know this one, an absolute mine of information on movies and TV shows.

BBC food recipes - http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes

Lots of great ideas for cooking up your next culinary masterpiece.

Who Ate All The Pies - http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/

Very funny if you're a football (soccer) fan.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Reddit. Its a great place for a variety of interests.

http://www.reddit.com/r/SimCity and http://www.reddit.com/r/simcity4 are good for... well you know what :P

For the city builders in all of us there is http://www.reddit.com/r/CityPorn and http://www.reddit.com/r/InfrastructurePorn. http://www.reddit.com/r/AerialPorn is cool too.

Some interesting stuff here, keep 'em coming people.

    Face book

Keep in contact with my family.

I think we can all agree that fb is great for keeping in contact with friends and family, especially across the miles.

Interestingly, my surname is also Mayo. Who knows, perhaps we share some long lost family   :golly:

I visit Cracked.com and TVTropes a lot... the latter is kind of infamous for trapping readers into reading it for hours and hours:

TV Tropes  -  A wiki for fiction plot devices, often written in a humorous style.  Perhaps it is all really one giant spoiler, and I will admit, I can indeed have scores of buried windows open as I get sucked deeper into the articles.

Global Public Square  -  Fareed Zakaria GPS from CNN always pools together interesting geopolitical analyses.

Arama They Didn't  -  J-pop culture news and celebrity idol tabloids goofily distilled for English readers.  No, Akanishi-san, how could you...?

Crunchyroll  -  Anime streaming.  Get your Gintama fix here.

CivFanatics  -  The Civilization Fanatic's Center, a fansite much like Simtropolis devoted to Sid Meier's Civilization series and full of custom content.

Asheron's Call Community Wiki  -  Fanmade wiki for the old MMORPG "Asheron's Call."  I would never figure out what to do with most of the items found ingame or ever make my way through the more complicated quests and dungeon mazes without many of the guides found here.

Denshi Jisho  -  A beginner's online Japanese dictionary for English users, whose nicely formatted "Kanji by radicals" finder makes it easier to quickly pin down and select/grab kanji which I do not know how to pronounce or input via romaji.  Definitely faster than trying to flip my way through Japanese and Chinese printed dictionaries sorted by radicals and stroke counts and then inputting them through converted keyboard modes.  Perhaps one day I'll sit down and get all this ported into my smartphone so I can just draw and tap on the touchscreen.

Oh!  I like CivFanatics, too!  I don't post there, though.  I'm not a hardcore enough Civver.

There are a few websites I visit everyday.  This one, of course, is my favorite.  It's my homepage.  Then there's:

Facebook (keep in touch with my family thousands of miles away)

National Novel Writing Month (I write like crazy these days)

Cracked.com (hilarious but often vulgar humor/list website)

    PVP Online (my favorite webcomic)

The Truth About Cars and Curbside Classics (interesting car stuff)

Imgur.com (viral pictures that occasionally make me laugh but I generally skip half of it everyday)

Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com, but since I live in Japan I can't download their smartphone apps :(

The SBN Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Vikings blogs are interesting, too, but sometimes I don't visit them if I already checked the scores.

EDIT: alc.co.jp has a very good Japanese/English English/Japanese dictionary as well.

Well, I don 't like social networking, but I love forums. Other than Simtropolis, I'm on the Zelda Universe forums because I love the Zelda Series. (Hints at that; Zelda quote in my sig, an I have a T-shirt that says "I Saved the Triforce"). I am also on the XL Nation forums, because I love Cities XL. I'm under the same username, so you can find my stuff, even though most of it isn't out yet.

Instagram is worth if you follow the people who are worth. My RL friends tend not to be much #Swag people and there are some very recommendable posters (pro photographers and such).

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity
