This is a thread for posting general modding requests.

If a thread already exists for something that would cover your request, then post the request in the existing applicable thread thanks, & not here.

Posting a request does not guarantee that it'll be fullfilled.

This thread will hopefully just serve as a thread where any/all modding-based requests can be posted, so that anyone [myself &/or others] who are capable of doing any requests posted, might have a place to see them.

This is not a chit-chat thread.

hey the bunny 35.gif wanted to know 37.gif is there anyway of making a mod that would make disasters happen randomly...not just fires but the others a well (earthquake, lighting, etc, etc)... is that possible to do in the game 42.gif

I am looking for some cemetary prop packs (i.e mousoulium, headstones, hearse) and possibly a mortuary and creamatorium too, I know sounds morbid, but I need a little more realism in my cemetaries

I would like a mod to get rid of monorail pollution. They can be slightly more expensive to build or operate (maybe more electricity requirements?), if people think that is fair. 1.gif

I have two requests.
 
I have on the exchange Two lots that are now Landmarks but would like one to be a growable Farm lot and the other A growable Residential if the lots not to big.  If its possable could someone do that for me.

I have a request that'll blow your socks of... I would like you guys to make a program that'll let us change the type/name/ect. of buildings... but make it easy! (I tried EasyTweaker, it is too confusing for me)

Tolomar:  I'm not sure if your request is possible.  Maybe someone who's a little more familiar with the LUA files can tell you if the disasters can be triggered from those scripts.  That is about the only way I can think of to accomplish random disasters.
 
timotheus:  I am really not very familiar with the water textures.  Sorry that I can't help there.  You might try PMing the creators of the previous water mod(s).  If the underlying water color is what's giving you troubles, gizmo may also be able to help.
 
Ash's first request:  Check this URL for rendermad's post on changing the drive side for your sims.  https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=40558   Since this is actually a change to your computer/registry, you'll have to do it yourself.  The only way you're gonna get the British quirks in spelling is to add them one by one (not likely) or get someone from the UK to send you a copy of their simcitylocal.dat file (although I'm not sure if Maxis made the UK and US versions of those files different).
 
Ash's second request:  As has been mentioned by others, what's the point in increasing prices?  You'd just have to increase the tax base, which creates a zero net effect.
 
screamomatic:  I'm really not sure what you're asking.  If you provide adequate transportation, your sims shouldn't complain.  Otherwise, try using the more radical transportation mods (within either DM's Traffic SuperModd or the Network Add-on Modd).
 
Mexicanboy:  Sorry, but I believe that would be something that has to be fixed by Maxis.
 
mayormommy:  I'll have to run a test or two (or three)2.gif and then discuss adding this to the NAM with Tropod.
 
pmiller:  There is already a group that should be willing to help you out with that type of request.  Try posting it in the BSC forums.
 
Ash's third request:  If EasyTweaker is too confusing, then I'm not sure if it's possible to create anything that would be simpler.  Maybe DarkMatter will be able to release a tutorial for ET soon.42.gif

Ash's seventh request - A mod to have snow at lower altitudes (I only get snow on mountains)

OMG, M16Ash! Hmm I think someone has in his/her signature, that §1 is $1000; that should give you some thinking. Your eighth request: I think someone could Make a prop, which is 1x3 tiles in size. Center tile would have the poles, and then power lines going to each direction. Then make a 1x1 lot, where you put the prop. (Prop can be larger than lot.) Then make that lot transit enabled for railroads, and tada! It's ready. That even allows you to make some lines electricified and some others not. 3.gif I think that's a good idea. Now someone has just to make it... 2.gif

Can someone make a MOD for weather? It would be great to see rain, snow etc. actually falling and puddles at the roadside.

Also why doesn't someone make a MOD where on a monthly basis or so, the windows of buildings get washed? On houses you would see little ladders going up, and on skyscrapers you would see the little lift going down. I think those are cool ideas!16.gif

I would like to see a mod that makes the height map for new regions more exaggerated. In other words white being the highest point possible instead of 1/3 as it is now. If this makes sense to anyone.

This can be done. There are a couple of items in the terrains of Simcity Dat 1 that you can change. I have a mod at home I tested a while back but have not had a chance to continue due to work. The only thing is you have to use a map to get the terrain you want. I played with the settings but can only get the water level to be lower, not the land.

Is there a mod yet for one-way avenues?? They promoted RH as providing avenues like for a real NY, but those are one-way. So if there isn't a mod for it there damn well should be, and if there is can someone please direct me to it? I'm sick of sticking two one-ways side by side...

a mod to reflect seasons: trees look different in winter than in spring, summer or autumn, farms look different too.
Maybe snow on lower altitutes in wintertime.
a second mod: schools that don't get used in july or august, santaclaus being visible in december, swimming pools covered (with ice) in january and february, etc.

iamrobk: It's not because you don't read frequently about it that nothing happens. I even believe that Ralphaelninja has already tried this out, I can remember him posting about it somewhere. You're always welcome to try it out yourself though...
 
freak:  This is probably very low on the todo-list... I don't see anything wrong with drawing two oneway roads, but If you really want the effect of an avenue, you can get the no oneway road-arrows mod by Tropod.
 
catweazle_touchwood: Several lotbuilders and propmakers have already started using seasonal props. I think Simgoober's latest floral pack includes several props that change througout the year. Also, several farms released by BLS GA have seasonal crops.

Thanks for the response, Daeley.  Since LUAs can't create random disasters, I'm not sure how else we could get them into the game.

There have already been several tutorials on how to mod.  Check out Tropod's signature for links to using the Reader.  Take a gander at the tutorials by DM that are stickied at the top of this forum.

That would really qualify as a vehicle mod, for which there is already another thread started.  Might want to check out Swamper's thread on driveable vehicles, since I believe that they are pretty much made the same way.

Ahhh, the Holy Grail of mods.  Many, many modders have tried and failed.  I believe that RaphaelNinja's latest supermod is the closest that anyone's come to it.

Sorry, but I'm not really familiar with how the terrain textures vary with altitude.  Maybe someone else can help you out with this one.

I'm not sure if this can be reliably done.  The rail network is textured, so you can't just add a S3D to accomplish this.  As Skippy said, you could create a 32m line as a prop and place it on a TE lot, but then you'd have to have the right number of tiles along a stretch, since you can't place two TE lots next to each other.

If we could actually create new ordinances, I'd be willing to create it.
 
mayormommy:  You are welcome.  If you check out the latest version of the NAM, it has been modified to eliminate pollution created by Monorails.
 
tragicomicus:  I think that someone has already created that kind of mod.  I can't remember who or when or where it might be at, but I'm pretty sure that it exists.
 
freak:  Unfortunately, the exe would have to control the path-flipping to create a one-way avenue.  Since we cannot change the exe, we're not able to create one-way aves.

Does anyone have a mod that would max out the land value of all land in the city? or what about a mod that would cause only stage 7 or 8 buildings appear4.gif? is it even possible to make these mods?42.gif
