I am growing a region called Pottersville and doing it "naturally". Minimal city planning, beyond a general idea of how I want the cities to end up. As the first major city in the region, NW Pottersville, grew, J. Herd, my transit adviser and I planned the ultra modern Pottersville Rapid Transit System (PRT) to combat in increasing amount of gridlock. Starting with a few buses, PRT has grown to have an extensive bus network, also an extensive Rapid Tram network (My pride and joy). Adding to this the Pottersville Regional Rail system was granted permission to run a major line through the city and we have added a monorail network consisting of three lines with regional connections. We have also put in place a very effective and efficient subway system consisting of five lines, mostly underground, but some elevated rail and regional connections. Finally, there is an extensive inter-coastal regional ferry network. I have for your viewing pleasure, and ruthless critique, a map of the PRT within NW Pottersville (Rapid Tram is omitted for clarity). I also have a subway map and the straight schematics for the five subway lines and the three monorail lines. In time the Rapid Tram maps will be finished, and I have considered mapping the bus routes, but I decided to jab burning bamboo shoots under my fingernails instead.

First, a stylized map of NWP with the Rail, Subway, Monorail, and Elevated Rail listed.

And now the Subway Map

The Pink Line, which also contains the elevated sections of the subway, the connection with the city of Riverbend, and the major hub at the Major League Stadium.

Finally, the Gold Line Circle. The crown jewel of the Pottersville Rapid Transit Authority.

Also of note are the Monorail lines. First the North/South line. Designed to bring shoppers to the affluent Marina district as well as to bring the ultra wealthy to their downtown offices and companies.

Included is the Spur line, built to help revitalize the original districts of NWP, known as Olde Town.

nsmonorailline.png

And the East / West Line, built to access downtown and the financial districts, it is also connected to the neighboring town of Riverbend, and thousands of happy sims have chosen this line as their major commute into work.

ewmonorailline.png

The maps listed here are posted in all the stations and available as fliers and can be downloaded from the PRT website. They also show all connections within the PRT and the Pottersville Regional Rail. There is usually a bus stop within a block or less of each station, although many sims are able to find a PRT station within walking distance of where they want to go.

A historical map I made a while ago for my city journal in progress that I will probably finish in the year 2525 or something.

It was inspired by Tolkiens map of Middle Earth, and for an extra old feel, I drew it with ink on linen.

p5130003a.jpg

I should still draw some mountains and stuff, and maybe a city plan of the capital on the bottom part (not visible in picture).

Names of areas on the map have been taken from rivers near my hometown and a map of tribes during Roman times.

After about 16 hours over 4-5 days, I have finished a road map for one fourth of the Region of Pottersville. This maps includes the highway, avenues, roads, rail, and ferry lanes.

using the IG roadmap data view

Region has progressed much further, but it took me about 40 minutes to do this and I don't want to change it for about another 6 months.

News just in; I've just learnt from a friend in Sedona, Arizona, that tourists seem to believe there's a rail system in that town. I also got sporadic mails about it myself. So yeah, I feel kinda proud of my subway maps lol.

More than worthy!

So it was you! ;)

I'd love to see an in-game view of the Askerton Viaduct area (mainly that roundabout just south of the station)

I actually don't remember all the nominations I submitted, but I don't think the quote used was one of mine...

Thanks for that pic!

That's not quite a 'map', is it? There probably is a more appropriate thread to post your pic in.

nova_albion_tram_map_by_linoa06-d4twm1y.png

This is the actual tram map for the Second Life agglomeration of Nova Albion and Bay City, both operated by automatic trams.

In actuality, the blue line doesn't quite call at Barcola, but the stations are close enough to be linked together.

Orange Line is not automatic and player-run, it's actually a bus line linking the Old City (Nova Albion) with the Shermerville neighboorhood!

The dark Magenta line is a ferry line that runs in the canals of Bay City, specifically south of Daley Bay that occupies the northern 10km² between Shermerville and Bay City's shores.
