Oh hey look, it's not working. What a surprise.

I suppose technically it is working, but it isn't successfully doing what it should be to warrant paying 9$ for it.

When I got the email, I could not believe that Maxis is doing this.

Basically they are saying that can not fix the traffic issues so this is their solution. Everytime that issue a major update, they break more things with the game than the update fixes.

I try not to be critical of the game because I did enjoy playing it every so often, but is the lowest they have ever stooped to.

"We can't fix the traffic because the engine is broken, so we came up with another solution, pay more money if you want your game to work like it's supposed too." Absolutely disgusting!

This DLC is pretty ironic.   "Lets forget about fixing the broken traffic engine and just make the sims fly!"

    lol Cos

It's fun. It's not earthshaking and it's rubberbanding but it looks lovely. Shame on Maxis for selling bits and pieces but they all have wives and children to feed. The poor devils :)

Info that's basically the plot of most RPGs :)

I've purchased it. Think it'll be a bit more fun and yet another option for the game.

Have the musement park and that city now turns a profit without resorting to electronics to survive.

I am debating it.  I bought the Amusement Park DLC, that was a pretty big DLC with a lot of flexability, I thought it was worth the money.  This DLC though, well, it just seems very minor for the price, I want to hear feedback from people who did buy it before i jump on this one, but most likely I will wait till this one goes on sale, even if it takes a year.

I purchased both. I liked the Amusement Park as well. It adds some fun to my cities. My kids love designing with me! I plopped the airship port in one city, but haven't seen sims request it in another city (focused on tourism). I'll play a little tonight and see if that changes.

You'll need a dock in at least one more city JG, doh? :)

Or alternatively a very long ladder <runs away>

Sims ask for a train station when I'm the only city in the region. I would imagine the same for airships. Have you had a different experience?

I have this strange feeling that EA will reduce the price of this or ultimately make it free.

Ah, doncha love it when you start a new region alone and build your first fire station and the game immediately suggests you share your fire service with the region despite the fact that there is no one else there?

Yes JG, I installed airship depots in two cities and tourists immediately started arriving at my attractive but remote mountain resort

I do not pay much attention to sims' desires. They've already forgotten what they were wanting just yesterday anyway :)

Your original point was that I needed a dock in another city for them to ask for it, when in reality, it's not the case. I was simply pointing that out. That's cool that yours are working in that fashion though. I leverage what sims ask for as much as possible - helps keep them happy. :)

I will buy all their DLC's... first thing tomorrow when my home AI wakes me up to go to Mars to watch the launch of my personal space ship that does the Kassel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

A parsec is a distance, not a time period.  This was discussed in the 1970's after the mistake was made in the Star Wars movie.

"This has been a Geek Alert."

Well you can't really change a historical movie quote now can you? Would no longer be a quote.

I'll wait to for the next big Origin sale to decide.

I bought the Deluxe Upgrade for $10 at the last sale.

This Airship port allows me to finally have a German city (yes they use Airships in Germany as public transportation).

I started a new region last night and in the first city I installed the airship port along with the extra ship available. The main airship takes off right away and moves people. The other blimp on inspection is a Commuter ship, and that just sat there until I add one more city presumably

Thinking on it JG, why are travellers boarding the working airship and going somewhere and coming back when I only have one city and one airship port in the new region. So many test pilots :)

This thought inspired my original doh comment. Who the Dickens would have imagined that sims could be so trusting of an airship airline that's apparently taking hostages. Ryan Air are considering pressing charges. Of a fiver a trip

The commuter blimp is the best value as Mine moves over 11,000 sims per day between two cities. Leaves Ports and trains for dead IMHO. The commuter blimp needs a depot in the other town to operate from what I've seen.

The other blimp brings them in from outside the region from what is the rest of the world I guess. It doesn't need a depot in the other towns I think.

Supposedly the Airship Port also spawns an advertising/media blimp that circles your stadium when there's a game/event.  Anyone succeed in doing this?

Though I want the DLC, my opinion is that it is overpriced and will most likely be discounted in the future, especially when you compare the Amusement Park DLC.

To those that bought this, can you check something out for me?  I'd like to know if this DLC allows you to connect cities that are otherwise not able to be connected (i.e., no road/rail/water connections possible)... like on the larger 16-city regions where any given city isn't able to be connected to most of the other cities on the map, could you (at least theoretically) now be able to have every city in the region have a connection to all of the 15 other cities via airship (provided each city built an airship port)?  And do these show up on the Region view under the show all connections?

Part 2 of this question, assuming the answer to the above is yes, is does this airship connect enable the gifting of money between two cities that would otherwise be build a connection and normally unable to transfer money?

If so, I'm thinking the Airship DLC suddenly looks quite a bit more attractive and useful...

Given how everything else in this game "works," my bet is that no, the airships wouldn't do either.

Has anyone seen the blimp that hovers over the stadium during events? Does this actually happen? I would love to find out.
