This is making me really sad. I can't even play with everything at minimum settings. I have a 100$ rock. I still can't find a solution. I also can't get a log of what's causing it because it actually shuts my computer down.

Ya it's not my PC - it's clean and I'm not having issues with any other games.

Hey guys, I've searched and searched for a solution and I'm completely unable to find one. EA and Origin have been no help. Maybe someone here can... I played SimCity from launch and dealt with all the standard bugs and crashes etc. For a long time the game ran fine, I even bought the expansion. I didn't have any problems playing the expansion either, full graphics settings, FOR HOURS. Flash forward to 6 months later I decide I want to play again. I update the game, choose an area, and start building. Graphics are at Ultra (they always have been) and the first thing I notice is that everything is sort of laggy. Ok, so I go in and adjust my graphics slightly. 5 minutes into playing the screen goes black, my computer is unresponsive, and then I get the motherboard beeps stating it is unable to detect a video card. I hit power, computer shuts down. I played for 10 minutes with everything at the extreme minimum, no problems, adjust textures to medium, 2 minutes, graphics card dies. I have already updated my drivers to attempt to fix it, that didn't do it. Please keep in mind that I ran this game with the expansion on ultra settings when the expansion came out for hours at a time without any issues. What would change 5-6 months later other than some update that they've done that now doesn't like my video card. I play other games without issues at ultra settings. My computer is not solely responsible here. Any help would be great.

I couldn't find anything with oral-b either. I saw the boxes from crest and I don't use crest... so my roommate who is a terrible and awesome person just took the sticker off the box and stuck it on my aquafresh and said "Hey you bought toothpaste, have a sticker."

I don't really know what I was expecting. I'm disappointed in how poorly things run within the city and with all of the very basic things (well basic in my opinion) they left out. Overpasses, subway or above street rail, traffic direction signs or something to help with traffic and the size of the cities. It just seems there were a lot of things left out that are very important to make the a game a long standing player. Also the DLC, I've purchased all of them and feel terrible about myself for dropping 100$ on a game that I play maybe once a week, then get annoyed and go back to another game.

I suppose technically it is working, but it isn't successfully doing what it should be to warrant paying 9$ for it.

So I bought it. It's not working the way it's described. I have a few 300+ pop cities and this is what's been happening: (Notice how the ferry terminal is transferring soooo many more residents than the airship. Keep in mind this city has a bad layout in regards to the entrance/exit. The other city next door has almost 200k more pop and has zero traffic problems, but alas I was still hoping the airship would help. It's not. At all.) If I've done something wrong here let me know, but mainly I guess if you want tourists, awesome. If you think this is going to fix the traffic problem, think again. *Edit - The only conclusion I can come up with is that the airship fails because it doesn't include low income riders. So unless you're going for a med/high well low pop city with neighboring cities doing the same, the airship is not worth the money. Here's one more showing it not working... Hey guys I joined as well. I have a very successful city on the Antarctica server but I'm the only one in that little area attempting the great work, kind of sad. So figured I'd come hang out with you all

Mine finally updated, figured I'd update. I didn't do anything - it just finally did it tonight. **Edit** So it rolled back my city for like the 8th time today and the avatar went back to the old one as well. Dunno what that means.

I've built a handful of cities and I can never seem to meet residential demand. I've become very good at perfect blocks - making sure that each area will be suited for the highest density buildings and I've done well at making sure they packed the people in. No matter the layout, I am always short residential. I also can't run a city without a deficit if I want any sort of specialization. Any tips on how to help with those two problems? Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, I didn't find anything in the search. Thanks

I've experienced this problem once and I've fixed it by doing a similar fix that I did with sewage. I'm big into mining/oil and refineries and they produce a lot of sewage that comes out in huge blobs and will back up even a fully loaded sewage treatment station if it all comes from the same direction. My fix to this was to put two lower capacity stations with road hook ups coming from different directions so that the sewage is forced to kind of half itself as to not overload either station. I then did this same thing with water - refineries use a lot of water so having two water pumps and roads supplying water to two ends of my city works well. Even though they are both lower capacity pumps, their distribution is better. Power on the other hand is different - I found that the original power problem that happened in every sim city still happens with this one when you load the game. As long as I'm not using wind power, my city is fine with only one entrance to the city. Wind power is too shaky in a normal flat city. I've had success with wind in a city that had a large hill in the middle because the wind speed was 20mph - and it was terribly expensive to run because the output just isn't enough for the amount of space it has to take up. Anyway, possibly try my above suggestion for distribution. I don't think you'll have a problem.

Mine won't update either - It's chosen the original one I randomly picked for Origin years ago and it refuses to update to a new one. I've changed it, I've changed it again, I've deleted files trying to get it to resync. It makes me very sad =(
