Whilst we all (probably) know who holds the most posts and who has the most rep points, a few other "records" have come to mind, which we don't know who holds.

Most prolific member without a Trixie: I know I have 2,283 posts now, but with no Trixie to my name. I wonder if there's anyone higher?

EDIT: OcramSeattle has 5,002 posts without any form of award, MOTM, Trixie or otherwise.

Least prolific member with a Trixie: Maybe there's someone who has done something so blatantly awesome and award deserving without many posts?

Forum butterfly: Most posts for length of time. Probably someone from the SC2013 section.

Best rep/post ratio: Could be Krisman, who has a staggering 20 to 1 ratio, holding only 4 posts yet 80 rep points. This would be due to his inactivity on the forums yet running a stunning City Journal.

Any others we can think of?

There are a few people with a Trixie medal or two who have 0 posts. This comes from being a member of a team that won an award, where said person is not active on the forum here but is on another site the team uses (such as SC4D).

I actually do not know with 100% certainty who has the most rep. A Nonny Moose is at 2940, which is a lot, but there could be someone out there with more that I haven't noticed because they're not on the forum much.

As for your first question, simwario has 7234 posts and no awards.

Noony is also gearing up to be ST's top poster, with 'only' about 3,000 posts between him (~33,500) and jacqulina (~36,500), who has gone inactive.

2,000+ rep members include

-A Nonny Moose (~2,950)

-Schulmanator (~2,500)

-T Wrecks (~2,500)

-Aaron Graham (~2,000)

There are now a number of members with 1,000 reputation or more. 1,000 seems to be the maximum 'rank' for rep, dubbed 'epic'.

Well, I know there's a Top 5 All Time STEX uploaders. But all of them are pretty inactive here. It would be interesting to see who's in the top 10, 20 or top 25 or so... But I think we may need some more statistics from the admins or the webmaster for this ;)

Other funny records:

- Longest BAT/Lot Thread

- Top 10 longest posts

- For all members with more than 2000 posts: the top 10 highest post-per-day ratio (I bet Nonny will win this)...

Also, SC4Devotion have one statistic about how long you have been online on the website in total. Tarkus takes the lead there with 338 days, 21 hours and 56 minutes!

I'm pretty sure there is a limit to how many characters a post can contain.

Posts that hit this limit are most likely to be in the CJ Forum - I think I've managed to hit it myself (replying to Zelgadis' Carpathia updates, which are pretty long in and of themselves).

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

You know, being retired gives one a lot of time to think up posts and stuff.  Being a retired teacher really pulls up some funny urges as well. :ducky:

I think the old BSP thread was (or has been for a long time) the longest-running BAT thread that never led to any release. :P

For stats such as longest posts and topics, it'd probably require a fair bit of research.

I don't think these kind of things would be easy to find without some serious number crunching. ;)

Some of the most viewed threads would be city journals as well. Who remembers such gems as City of Edmonton and Adiun Valley? Some of the old NAM general threads have some very high view counts as well.

Threads get archived after being inactive for a certain amount of time (or at least they used to), and even though I would manually set some BAT threads to not archive since they had good info in them, some big threads might have slipped through.

But here are the biggest threads in the BAT - Open Discussion:

1.  Simgoober,   2,795,   2005-2006, 2009

2.  Jasoncw,   2,602,   2005-

3.  BSP thread 1,   1,986,   2004-2007   (current BSP thread is 7th, at 1,507 posts, 2007-)

4.  Nofunk,   1,751,   2006-

5.  Portland/Oregon BAT Team,   1,630,   2004-2008

T Wrecks is right about the first BSP thread, less than 1/4th of the pages of the thread lead to STEX uploads and even among those pages there's unrelated chatter.  :P

Simgoober's thread is quite a feat.  The 2009 return was brief and most of the posts came during the original run, and yet 7 years later it's still the biggest BAT thread.  He's also the most downloaded BATer even though he's been inactive for so long.

It looks like it won't be long and my thread will have the most posts.  :D

Very interesting to see some stats into ST. That monthly bandwidth usage for the STEX is crazy... that bill most cost a small fortune.

Thanks for the interesting stats!

Wow, thanks for those Dirk! The 10GB is pretty surprising actually.

Ooh, so if I went on a mad downloading spree I could fit the entire STEX onto my computer!

I don't think it would like it much though, there's bound to be a few conflicts and a few more brown boxes in that.

11 GB would hardly be noticed on my storage.  Interesting.  I wonder what it comes to unzipped?  Zip is not the most efficient compression but it is the most common.

Still lose it on my 1TB backup drive.  Do you compress stuff in the threads?

Great stats Dirk, thanks for sharing! :thumb:

    • Average STEX bandwidth per month: ~4.4 TB

Now that's a lot of bandwidth used -- and just for the STEX alone!
To put this in perspective, this equates to an estimated:

    Average STEX Bandwidth

    Unit

    TB

    GB

    MB

    Per Year

    52.80

    54067

    55364813

    Per Month

    4.40

    4506

    4613734

    Per Week

    1.01

    1036

    1061087

    Per Day

    0.14

    148

    151584

    Per Hour

    0.006

    6.17

    6316

    Per Minute

    0.00010

    0.10

    105.27

It's quite remarkable really, at an average of 105 MB per minute (1.75 MB/s). It just shows how much downloading goes on behind the scenes!

That must be a fair proportion of the total bandwidth.

32,768 characters when I tested it several years back. :D

Such a limit has not always been in place, though, and at least one post which exceeded it was made before it was. was once even longer than it is now (cut by the character limit), it originally did actually contain a list of everyone who registered prior to January 25, 2004 (~23,500 people)

A Nonny Moose has become the first member to reach 3,000+ reputation. Only 3 members now have 2,000-2,999 , with around a dozen or so with 1,000-1,999.

However with over 30,000 posts, this makes sense. I have a lot of catching up.

Also, what is the biggest number of rep points on a single item (news articles don't count). ie. posts/CJ entries etc.

We have this list for that: https://community.simtropolis.com/best-content/

I see that one of my posts (a "why SimCity 2013 doesn't work for the older community"-post) has reached the #4 spot on the list :O

Oh, and congrats Yoshi for having the #1 most rep given for a CJ entry with your latest CJ entry!
