Look at this. I looks like it is for SC2013. Anyone can mod such intersections ?

If it hasn't been asked or worked on yet, a Network Addon Mod (NAM) for SimCity would be nice.

 

Since the traffic simulation for this game is down do the individual vehicle, this game can be a potentially untapped traffic simulator.

 

As requested by others plus some of mine:

 

-One way roads of various lanes

-4-6 lane avenues.

-Freeways within the city (when the bigger maps issue is resolved this could come in handy)

-Various options to customize an intersection like no left/right turn, yield on turn instead of stop

-Roundabouts instead of intersections to reduce traffic lights

-The ability to make a T-intersection with no stoplight with any capacity roads/avenue (no left/right turn or left/right turn only after yield/stop)

-The ability to customize traffic light durations

-Roads for buses or freight/delivery trucks only (like the service road but this time it's the streets)

-Overpasses and underpasses so pedestrians can cross the street without the need or a traffic light or intersection. 

-The ability to change the speed limit on certain streets

-The ability to customize the bus/train/streetcar route

 

-A path finding tool like what we had in SC4

 

Maybe the ability to change a region from right to left hand side drive!

 

I know I asked a lot but I really expected a lot out of SimCity, and the genius mods did an excellent job in SC4, I'm confident they can do it for SC 2013 too.

I really love the idea with the one way roads, the intersections & the 4-6 lane avenues.
This would be awesome & it would help the traffic very much I think.

 

Anyone here who has the ability to mod this ?

 

Edit: Is it even possible to mod such things ?

I kinda wish there was a de-futurization mod.  As much as I really like CoT buildings they conflict with the mods I'm using.  I'm using a ton of different mods to change the vehicle graphics but once they get futurized the mod graphics goes away.  Also the mod that changes the color of the roads goes away once the road is futurized.

 

And I'm sure this was mentioned before, but I'd really like one-way roads.

Hi

 

What i would like to be able to do is name streets and be able to place signs.  That would be a nice feature to bring back.

 

Also any Australian content would be great like roads, transport vehicles, emergency vehicles, standard vehicles, buildings etc.

I'd like to second this request. There's nothing better to do while waiting for a little more money to come in than to tool around your city naming things. I believe in SC4 you could name schools and parks as well. I'd love to be able to see that in this game. Embarrassingly enough, though I've been playing since SC2000, I still pretty much suck and this is one of the few aspects of the game I can't screw up. Is this even possible thru modding??

Can't believe how quiet things are around here. Sheesh. Still waiting for some enlightened people from the official team to subcontract Oppie, the few programmers hanging around here, and Simtropolis to build the next Lot Editor, official unpacker, and 3Dmodel importer.

 

All parties involved will be richer and happier for it. No brainer, you'd think?

Hello everyone !

Offline mode with mods will sign a brand new start in SC5 gameplay ! And I'll come back playing and hope also to start modding or helping someone else.
Here the list of things I'd like to have with mods (some of them are already present in past post, but I repeat them because they are too important for don't write them down):

  • Bigger maps
  • Nam
  • Only day mode
  • Underground
  • Zoom mode (to have a wider view of city/region, seems to me that there are  different levels depending on your game resolution)
  • Highways in cities with proper entrances/exit
  • One way roads
  • Terraforming tools

Maybe a mod so police, ambulances and firetrucks can skip the traffic jams, it just isn't realistic. Maybe the traffic can move to the right side of the road? It would make the game a lot more realistic and  a lot less painfull. :)

I have often thought about a mod for the emergency vehicles.
It's really annoying that the cars do not pull over if there's a ambulance, etc..

What would really useful is a a streetcar street. I like narrow streets in my city and I want my streetcars to run there.

A few things to say.

1. Offline is a go. It looks like it was made for mods. Belive it or not, Maxis is TRYING to help us mod. They WANT us to mod because more people will buy the game and mod it

2. My mod requests:

One way streets

Small drone hangers- attach to small fire station, clinic, and police station.

Drone hangers- attach to large fire station, police prenict, and hospital

FireDrone 2.0- can put out haz-mat fires.

LawDrone 2.0- has dective abilities.

MediDrone 2.0- keeps people alive 2x as long due to advanced paramedic programs.

Build-a-region. For offline only. Not compatable with achivements. Sandbox only.

Continue run. Lets city operate while offline, if wanted. Runs on servers.

Ok, one of my childhood dreams, Lowways, lol. Basically roads underground. There will be no possibility's for zoning, though. This is one of my more, reasonable ideas

1) What I want:

One way streets

request for a real Godzilla Model and not the Sim Monster.... :)

That would infringe copyright righst, getting maxis, the modder, and EA all in a messy lawsuit.

LOL you did answer to why a "real Godzilla" was not made to start with. Its amazing how cold it gets when people bring up copywrite issues, lol. Anyways I need to figure out how to recolor some cars or something so I have something to present.  :lol:

Ok, why I keep posting here I don't know. Its a magnet. So, I hated the format I posted all my ideas, lol. And I have more. I basically want to overhaul the game. Don't worry. I am learning to mod and will join the modding community in order to help with my long order, lol.

 

Traffic mods

One way roads- (mainly for round-a-bouts)

Subways

Hover-cars- (maybe find a way to make it only for the CoT expansion. cuz it fits that theme)

Hover-buses-( CoT only)

Inter-regional space travel- (CoT only

Cargo Space travel - (CoT only)

Emergency response traffic by-pass (make traffic pull over to let by emergancy vechials)

Streetcar Streets

Underground Streets (Possibly blocked by ore and coal?)

Increased height levels for overpasses

Crashes- (Vechials occasionally crash, causing a need for fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances, closes lane)

Season-conditioned roads

U-Drive-It (may be simple. Just convert some files from Simcity 4 rush hour)

Custom made roads- (make your own road, with extra lanes, up to 10!)

Underground Trains

Hyper-boats (CoT only)

Helicopters- (Traffic by-pass for high wealth workers, and a income maker)

Industrial private freight VTOL

Underground driller- (to make way for underground buildings/roads)

 

City Mods

Small drone hangers(CoT only)

Drone Upgraders(CoT only)

Commercial Drive-thru

Hi-tech Hi-density industrial private VTOL pad

Teraforming

Increased city borders- (top priority)

Custom Regions- (using teraforming and engine manipulation)

Pets (increases happiness)

 

 

Specialization Mods

Underground mining facility (CoT only)

Mining/drilling VTOL pads (CoT only)

Global Market VTOL pads (CoT only)

access to global market while offline- (takes last recorded online global market price, does not affect supply/demand of GM)

Megatower Gambling level (CoT only)

Can I request that someone just fixes the figures? (I say "just", I understand it is probably a lot of work!)

 

I always seem to have lots of unfilled jobs, lots of unsatisfied shoppers and not enough freight. I can add residents to fill the jobs, but then there are even more unsatisifed shoppers. So I add commercial to satisfy the shoppers, but this increase unfilled jobs and freight demand. So then I add industrial to satisfy the freight demand but this increases the unfilled jobs even more!

 

It's a vicious circle of agony!

 

I think what would help this along is also fixing the inter-city commuting. So my city with masses of excess freight will start commuting more than a piddly amount to my industry-free city. Same goes for workers, shoppers, students, only a tiny fraction will commute over, doesn't matter how many municipal bus stations, train stations etc I put in.

It seems that most things i'm interested in seeing changing are already listed here. 

 

We all know traffic is broken, whoever fixes this is a god. 

We all complain about city size, i know that it might not be possible but i'm sure people are working on it. 

One way streets would be pretty good. 

 

A revival of the old Simcity challenges/opportunities would be nice. Build a Jail/Nuclear waste dump etc. Money vs pollution. 

A big one for me, would be region road connectors. One on every edge would be nice. 

Perhaps an entire region that is perfectly flat? To allow us to cram more into one city. 

The ability to designate exactly what type of buildings are built would be nice, i know we can do this by altering road density and taxes etc, but it'd be cool if we could deliberately create a downtown area where it's only low wealth. 

I'd love to see some of the sandbox features made simpler. For example, the 'cheat codes' which turn fire etc on and off made into their own tab and simple check boxes. 

Perhaps a larger loan/bond amount. quarter of a million maybe? 

 

And last but not least is my idea for if we Can't fix the city size problem. Instead, would it be possible to create 'sub-cities' almost that are pre-built and unlocked when we meet a certain threshold? 

for example, when you reach a high population, you can choose to have one of the sides of your city adjacent to your region built into a 'downtown' that is already pre-build and stored. 

I'm sure this would be easier to accomplish for the modders, as it wouldn't involve making the data used int he city any larger, just adding a few road connections and 'ploping' the city extension you want. Almost like the mega-towers but as entire blocks on the edge of your city. 

this way you could just program it so that so many people come into the city looking for jobs? 

There could be different 'ploppable' bits, like - a bigger university, an industrial estate that provides jobs and freight, even oil fields so that we don't have to waste precious space on this ourselves and instead just receive resources from it? 

 

If that isn't possible is it just possible to make a new region with more cities, but directly next to one another? So that they appear to run into one city, but it's actually over three or four cities? 

 

Just some ideas!

I'm pretty sure that I haven't seen this requested yet...

Can somebody resize the ships? I've noticed that the Ferries are (besides being super ugly) a little small, and then the Cargo Ships, Tankers, and the Cruise ships are all SUPER small. I mean, those are supposed to be ships. This would require some retextures since the default texture would be too low res. Since it'd be a retexture, it'd be neat for there to be some variants, sorta like oppie's Tour Bus redo, which has 8 variations.

 

The 18 wheeler delivery trucks could also use some attention, seeing as they:

  • Aren't articulated
  • Are too small lengthwise
  • Need some variations colorwise

 

These are my more general requests, which have probably been asked for already:

  • A mod that lets us place any RCI building from a list, like the ones from SC 3000 and SC4, so we can create a finely-sculpted city. It'd go good with...
  • ...Larger Maps!
  • 1 way roads
  • NAM
  • If larger maps are added, highways (like the big set of stuff for SC4, with various amounts of lanes, ramps, overpasses, etc)
  • Better Airports (Modular like the big set from SC4?)
  • More sea-based automata (coupled with a Marina, perhaps?)
  • Modular Seaport stuff (like the SC4 packs)
  • Dull the colors on some of the ploppable buildings, especially the fire station. I've never seen a bright red fire station in my life. Make it grey or brick-colored. It could have a red stripe across it, but not all red...
  • etc

Also, if we can't directly increase city size, can we at least get a region where the cities are backed up against each other, like they were in SC4 regions? It looks really weird to have a "city" with skycrapers sorrounded by blank wastes, and then another "city" a ways off.

Pathfinding Mods

 

One of the fundamental flaws with SC13 is the pathfinding process. In SC4, one of the nicest things in the game was being able to view your Sims' daily commute, including transportation method (car, bus, etc.). This would be also be a welcomed addition, but without the Dynamic Residence aspect, being removed, there would be no point.

 

Having Sims living in a permanent home would also alleviate a TON of our traffic congestion issues. No longer would Sims flock in the same direction looking for the next available open room, but they would a specific route they would take to work, regardless of what traffic looks like.
