Still, IMO, you should use less highways.  They take up too much space.  Also, what are your traffic counts for each highway?

    now for the big update10.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 10.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/10.gif width=15 border=0>...

first of all i promised DuskTrooper i would show my neighbor connection traffic counts

here is the connection via the 1-Expressway

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_1EXPRSCONN.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_1EXPRSCONN.jpg>

and here is a shot of the connection via the 3 Freeway

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_3FREEWYNEIGHBORCONN.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_3FREEWYNEIGHBORCONN.jpg>

don't worry i will also add the beach entrance and downtown entrance traffic counts when i show them!

now lets get on to the city: here is a shot of the Mid-Town South Community occupying the only Walmart in the city and the only other McDonalds...and don't forget the Woodshore City College!

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNSOUTHCOMM.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNSOUTHCOMM.jpg>

and just above this community is a very small community, Mid-Town North Community, and it is small enough that i will show you closeups of this one

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNNORTHCOMM11.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNNORTHCOMM11.jpg>

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNNORTHCOMM31.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNNORTHCOMM31.jpg>

and here is a shot of the community flipped the other way...the second Toys R Us in the city is located here as well (also the more popular because it is located near the beaches)

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNNORTHCOMM4.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_MIDTOWNNORTHCOMM4.jpg>

Stay tuned today for the North Community, West Community, and Beach Community!

    Again, comments are appreciated!10.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 10.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/10.gif width=15 border=0> (I have a lot of views and not enough comments, please, if you view this please comment i will appreciate it greatly!1.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 1.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif width=15 border=0>)

Hmm...well, Thanks for the pics, but...
If You're going to have traffic counts like that, I would have used avenues instead. They are more ground oriented and would impact the city less than highways. All you have to do is mod the capacities in reader, to enable them to carry slightly higher loads. For extreme numbers, see my CJ.

Hey!, that's a very nice city you got going there, i really like teh low-rise! Could you tell us some more about the commute times? Because i really like your system with only one on-ramp, but want to know how that goes for commute times.

    Keep up the good work!

Amazing!!! I love that city. It is very planned out and creative. I love the explanations you gave for why the the McDonalds and Toys R Us are so popular.
Its great to see someone use all those BAT buildings in their city. I think that this city is more like Miami or some kind of resort town on the ocean. I mean it does not have many skyscrapers. You done a Great Job Chicago!! I cant wait to see more updates. 44.gif44.gif

How do you get so many of the same buildings to grow next to each other? Although in some places it looks a bit too repetitive, it looks very good in other areas.
I like the look of your low-density, high-wealth residential areas, and of course that long beach-front looks cool.
    4.gif Cheers.

    (NOTE: Sorry this update is late...ST kept logging me out on this computer and I kept having to re-do it over...this is my third time doing it over34.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 34.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/34.gif width=15 border=0>15.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 15.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/15.gif width=15 border=0>)

Dannato: yes the repetition in the office park did not happen like I wanted it to. I was trying to get the whole office park filled with the white 2 story office buildings as many realistic office parks have repetition of the same building, as in not bad repetition but good repetition, but that did not happen and I ended up getting repetition of many different buildings15.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 15.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/15.gif width=15 border=0>

jasperdeman.nl: yes I'll add the commute times and other city stats when I am done showing this city

thanks for the comments you two and thanks to the rest of the people who replied to my CJ1.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 1.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif width=15 border=0>

well to start it off here is a shot of the North Community

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_NORTHCOMM12.JPG

    and I also made a few shots of the North Community up close for you2.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 2.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif width=15 border=0>

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_NORTHCOMM32.JPG

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_NORTHCOMM42.JPG

    and now what you've all been waiting for...the Woodshore Point coastline!10.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 10.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/10.gif width=15 border=0>

Here is a shot of the West Community, just south of the Beach Community. Did I mention I love doing R$$ suburbs? It looks extremely realistic because of the 1x1s.

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_WESTCOMM3.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_WESTCOMM3.jpg>

now here is a center shot of the Beach Community with the shopping center right in the middle

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM11.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM11.jpg>

Here is a side shot of the Beach Community with Cobb's set of Seaside Villas, a very nice site to see in this city, right behind another very tourist attraction, the shopping center

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM21.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM21.jpg>

here is what you have seen in my Mandursuro banner, Lincoln beach and the ever so famous Lincoln Blvd. with the very popular resturaunts located there, many tourists love to come and eat there.

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM31.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM31.jpg>

moving north here is the very private Lincoln Beach Club where the richest sims live.  Also notice that there are walls surrounding the area to show the sense of privacy and most of the lots are 3x3 not 2x2 like most of the city. They also have their own private beach.  Also there are the two hotels located in Woodshore Point, the Embassy Suites Hotel and the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM41.JPGhttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM41.jpg>

and here on the penninsula which was just recently constructed on is the very relaxing Woodshore Country Club, the Sports Square, where sport fields/courts are located for young sims to have fun, and the Lincoln Marina, a fun place for the whole family1.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 1.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif width=15 border=0>

    /idealbb/files/WSHOREPOINT_BEACHCOMM51.JPG

Stay tuned tomorrow for: I reveal where I live in Mandursuro3.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 3.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif width=15 border=0>, more closeups are revealed, and traffic counts for the Beach Community entrance are shown! Also Downtown will be shown!

    As I say, Comments are still greatly appreciated!3.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 3.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif width=15 border=0>

Wow! It looks awsome Chicago! Well, compared to other stuff I have seen and some of the stuff I did myself. Anyway, I really like it except for the over plpoed look in some spots (which is ment to happen) and the outlining of the outlets/on-ramps to highways.

Nice burbs. The city has a patchy feel to it, somehow. It must be all the highways.
