Well, after a sporadic 18 month break while being treated for clinical depression, I think I can finally say I'm back.

Please follow the link in my signature and visit the Moose Factory.

I'm going to quit posting at ST. I'm still involved with NYBT, but I will be at other sites. This has nothing to do with anything, I just want to. I'm mainly going to be over you know where but I'm not a member of their team. I just don't want to post at ST anymore. My work will be showcased elsewhere. Most of ya'll will know where I'll be. I'll still check my PMs here, but that's all I'll do. I'm still going to keep in touch with ya'll. I'm not quiting NYBT, but most of my work is now exclusive elsewhere. I might take of all of my BATs of the exchange.

Now, ya'll(NYBT) can still post here, but I'm not. If you wana post a little where I'm at, that's fine. I might post at Devotion too.

So...I quit.(posting at ST)

I'll be away for a few days, I'm travelling down to Canberra to go to university.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Sometime in the next few weeks I am going to disappear while I move to new digs.  I am being dispossed by the bank but I have no firm dates as of yet.  I am returning my dogs to the breeder because in a smaller place I won't be able to keep them properly.

Da nada.  I am just letting the shoe drop because my finances have been in a mess since 1990 when I lost my high paying IT job along with about 8000 others in a corporate downsizing (read greed).  A lot of babies beside me got chucked out in the bath water.  It is a long sad tale better told over a case of beer and some johnny cake.  At least one guy shot himself, and most of the others went into other things.  One of the most successful systems analysts went into the roofing business with his brother.  I became a part time college professor.  These days about half of my old colleagues have shuffled off this mortal coil as none of us were particularly young.  We have an association that meets annually and we try to keep track.

I am sincerely sorry to here about your foreclosure. Also, escaping (dare I say that?) the Mortal Coil is something we will all face eventually. There has been a great burst of deaths lately for many ST members, myself included. What can we do but plod on (that's rhetorical, btw)?

I wish I knew what a Johnny Cake was, though.

Johnny cakes are pancakes made with corn flour rather then Bisquick, or white flour if you make pancakes the hard way.

@Barabrossa:  Yes, I do know a few Spanish expressions although I am more comfortable in French.  When you've been around as long as I have, all kinds of things stick to you.  Johnny cakes (cornmeal pancakes) go better with beer than regular pancakes imho.

The Spanish 'Da nada' is probably nicer than the Russian 'Nichevo' or the French 'Il n'y a pas de quoi" or the Joual 'Ça ne fa rien'.  Comes down to mood and choice of expression.  English just doesn't have as good an expression.

For the next month I won't be around much. I'll probably pop in here and there but I'm in the process of moving. Just gotta find a new place first.

Edit: Well it looks like I won't be quite as absent as I had originally thought. My parents are putting me up for a few days until I find a new place, and their computer works just fine. I cannot wait to find a new place, as being in limbo is so... well I dunno what it is but it's not like having a home of your own. I intend to be moved in within a week and a half. Then I get to buy all the things that I've relied on my roommate for for so many years... coffee table, television, plates. Good gravy, if it wasn't for my girlfriend, I wouldn't even have a bed to sleep in!

Have you moved in yet, N_O_Body? That's heartbreaking about your dogs... but I'm glad you have the good sense to recognize what is and what isn't a good environment for them. I'm sure the breeder will let you visit from time to time.

I'll be going back home until the 14th (here, your date may differ), so I may be online less frequently.

I'll be in the Bahamas next week, April 16th to the 23rd!

First time going abroad. Woohoo!

I don't expect much Internet access, so I'll see everyone afterwards.

Oh, and I'm not jumping a fence... I'm going there legally.

Tomorrow (April 17th) I'll be leaving early in the morning to head to Baltimore and I won't be back until late that night.

So, after I log off this evening, 99% odds are it'll be Sunday morning before I'm around again.
