Snowstorms in winter, thunderstorms elsewhen. It warned about being resource-heavy, but on this 5 year old laptop with about a thousand mods/buildings already installed, I actually didn't notice any change in performance. The same goes with the jenx aurora borealis mod.

The only problem with this mod is when combined with SimFox Day'n'Night mod, it gets REALLY dark when storm clouds roll in at night.. to the point of the game being unplayable because all that's on the screen is black and blacker black.

Great initiative! This will help me improve the mod.

I noticed myself the trouble with the dark nights during thunder storms. I think I have a way to fix it, but it will take some time to implement. Some other fixes will also be included.

I hear very good feedback about performance from many players so I guess my concern turns out to be unjustified. I am very pleased about that!

A fix for the night-time darkness! Awesome! I didn't think it'd be possible at all without affecting the day.

I tried switching to the "storms can cause damage" option today and really enjoyed that, too. Actual damage was infrequent enough to be a pleasant addition to gameplay. (As opposed to my previous method of having no fire stations, which seemed to make fires increase with occurance on a rapid arc and would quickly become a nuissance.) Unfortunately, I noticed that a tornado had ripped through a farm without the disaster notice ever popping up. The rare fires from lightning strikes worked excellently, though.

Now if only farms which lose a few tiles of land would regrow to what they were instead of needing to become whole new farms. Maybe I should play with this mod more in urban areas than rural.

The biggest problem I have with the mod is when night comes, whenever there is a storm or rain, the sky just become too dark, make the game become nearly unplayable. A picture taken at night :

Other problems are just minor, not many troubles outside this one.

it doesn't my netbook has a duo Intel Atom with 2gb of ram and it works just fine. well......except when it snows

I have noticed it. I use the mod in a netbook too, I've been testing it with SimMars, but the rain and snow never appears, only it becomes more darker and appear the clouds, fog and the thunderstorms (certainly, that are too noisy).

maybe its a conflict with simmars. but thats just a theory. try it without simmars and tell me what happens

No, SimMars is just fine.

Did you know that is knowed that in Mars rains? The martian rain is like a drizzle and it is compared with the diamond dust of the artic or the dew of the mornings. A fog covers the surface at the night and at the morning it is condensed by the sun. Is very knowed that in Mars rains, at its own way, but rains.

But there never has snowed before:

I see a really great potential for terraforming projects and concepts with SimMars and this really awesome mod.

Yes, the SimFox's Darknite mod. I hope Alex can fix the problem with the darknite mod, the problem itself is not always happened, though, just only when there is a storm in the city. Everything is just normal, though, when the night is clear and no storm happened.

This is an arcology, a huge building that's actually an autonomous city. Those buildings can house thousands of residences without using too much land. They are not apartment buildings, but truly cities with industries, parks, hospitals, power plants e.t.c. all under the same roof. With the classic Simcity 4, this is the result.
