Large project in mind, need help of BATers

As you may have read on the title, the projet I'm thinking about, and indeed I already started, is the capital of the Country where I live; Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have downloaded the lastest region conforming the city itself, and I started with sections that can be done with universal things, like airports and docks, but my problem starts when talking about landmarks: I made a huge research around the main exchange sites but I didn't get too much. When I was loking around here, I saw the firsts steps of a CJ about Buenos Aires, but the "author" left it inconclued, Also, apart from the region, I got some landmarks, but they are not the main ones, and they are very few, so my main reason of being here is because I would like to know if any BATer or a BAT team would like to join this project, which from time to time would be published on a CJ. Those who accept will have all the rights to publish their BATs on the sites they want, and they will receive full credit for their work.

I had this projet in mind since long ago, but I can't make it real alone, so I'm asking this to every person that reads this topic; if anyone wants to contibute with it, I will gratefully accept your help and give more information.

-maybe lots of comments will include quotes like "why not you learn how to make BATs and do them?", and, sicerelly, I would do it, but I don't have the time, neither the patience, that making a BAT needs... that's why I'm asking you for help.

Making a B.A. Region will be very difficult. If you need special landmarks and such you might well have to make them.

Considering you have the Olympics in 2018, you may find a lot of interest in the construction and the buildings that are being planned, but you also have plenty of features for the city. I hope you have a good geographic region with the Rive Plate properly laid out. I am sure that will help a great deal.

So let me get this straight...you want to make a Buenos Aires CJ, and you want people to make all the landmarks for you, and the reason you don't BAT them yourself is that you "don't have the time, neither the patience." Well, I'll ask the question - if you don't have the time or the patience, why then would someone else have the time and patience for this project?

One of the things you find as you get older is that there comes a time when you are better off to "do it yourself" than depend on some faceless Myrmidons to do things for you. Learning to do a BAT is, admittedly, a rather large exercise in learning to do 3D editing, but your horizons will be expanded by this. Value is found where value is.

-cmdp123789: so there you are!! I was following your posts then BOOM you dissapeared! lol I had been waiting for more of your CJ... tell me when you start your new one, I already made Retiro train and bus terminus and the old docks.

-Noony Moose: I already know that it's a very hard region to make. Just making a small part of the docks took me all morning, the rest of the day was spent on the rest of the zone. I know I need a lot of stuff that has to be created, and I also know that learning to do BATs is a great experience - I once tried to start learning - and I'll try to learn about it from time to time

I mean I'm making this city because I had it on my mind since I started playing, and I would actually love to create my own BATs, but the terms of time that imply learning to make BATs ,and after this making them , are much more longer than just planifying the city with google maps :|

Well, I kinda left the CJ because of the map... I was doing the map myself, and it was hard to be honest... so that's why drunkapple made one, if you read the description, it says "requested by cmdp123789" and so I started on that one...

I laid some roads... 9 de Julio... and some parts of La Boca, I have the Costanera almost done (streets) I was about to start the Reserva Ecologica, but then, I kinda left it there... maybe now that I have a "partner" I can continue it lol! My problem is train stations... cause train stations in B.A. are very particular... for example the Once station... there are no train stations like that on simcity.. and there no BATs... that look like it... you know... ground and second level rails... PM if you need help... or you wanna share something... and pics... oh god... pics... I wanna see what you got...

I'll send you a pick later of what I've done till now... as for the train stations, I replaced them with stations that are avaiable on the STEX or at SC4DEX. For example, I used the french Gare du Nord to make it as if it was the Retiro Terminus, and I used some more stations that I found on a japanese site:

About the docks, I partially made Piers 2,3 and 4... I still have to finish them and I'll continue with pier 1 and 5. My main problem in this region is that I'll have to do ALL the coast in diagonal so it's pretty hard to make the avenues, roads and rails:

Ok... I did that too... but Retiro for example... is a diagonal station... and it messes up the city if placed orthogonal... I have a couple pics of what I have...

and cmdp123789 you are far more advanced than me ! I know Retiro terminus is located diagonally, so I made it a little bit less realistic (had to take off some streets, and I know that avenue under the rails doesn't exist) but far more funcional:

I'll try to finish the docks tomorrow if I have some time... oh and another doubt, how will you make the channels on Puerto Madero? I decided to make them with ploppable channels, but i'm not so sure...

I see what you did... I was going to use canals in Puerto Madero... I like what you have up to now... hmmm although... Remember to measure everything in google earth so that you have the correct scale...

yes, I'm planning to start a CJ when I finish the section I'm working on, which is the port. that will work as a small intro, then I'll show the full section so I can have more time to continue working on other sections
