I have always loved The Big Bang Theory!

Once a nerd always a nerd!

Funny thing is when it first came on I thought it was stupid. It wasn't till like the third season I got into it and now it's by far my favorite comedy. (The same thing happened with Scrubs :))

lol....I still think it's stupid, having it watched a few times.....and felt asleep on it. A matter of personal likes I guess. ;)

I'm into Documentaries at the moment, not the ones that show you how to destroy our earth or tries to figure out what earth's future will be like, no, I like those talking about new nature findings, like the deepsea discoveries, or what's up there, out in our universe and how these things" function".

Besides that, I only watch the news in the morning, at noon and at 6PM.....all in french of course.

Unfortunately we are now in the summer (spring?) doldrums.  The saving grace is the TMN subscription I have.

Good holding position for half an hour is some of the construction and DIY programs.  Ah, what fools these homeowners be.

I love shows like The Universe and Discovery shows "Mermaids" excepted. Not big on end of the world stuff either, I hated last year all the end of the world 2012 stuff :(. I like the space shows on Nova as well.

After watching some episodes today, I am now quite interested in Airport 24/7: Miami on the Travel Channel. It is a "reality" show, but it's done in a documentary-ish style that shows the everyday craziness of airports, which I recently experienced myself. I don't know how much is real and how much is scripted and fake, but nevertheless I find it intriguing and entertaining to watch - much more so than other "reality" shows.

Last night was almost a total bust vis-a-vis TV.

I have around 200 channels and for at least 8 hours a day I use it for background noise.  Right now it is running on the MAX TRAX Baroque Channel.  I go for Baroque.

The only thing worth watching last night was a repeated episode of SG1 (they are up to the replicator wars).  An occasional dip into Animal Planet and the Food Network for some interesting shows, but otherwise DIY, HGTV or PBS (I have four PBS channels, thank God).  Somehow, though, the PBS guys in the states seem to be able to synchronize their begging programs, darn it.  TVO is always begging between shows, but the stuff they run is totally good.

I also have a general subscription to The Movie Network and just found out (the ISP didn't tell me) that they have an Internet Streaming catalogue.  Have to look more into that.  Apparently you log on to it just like logging into your ISP for mail.

Oh, and I did watch, last night, the pilot episode for Under the Dome.  Seems to be utterly full of side plots from murder, to paranoid schizophrenia, to some kind of conspiracy.  Very messy, so will have to remember to watch more of it to see who is going to do what to which and to whom.

I tried out ABC's "Whodunnit?" this week.  Normally, I'm not into reality shows that much, since I've heard the whole "they're just scripted" argument plenty of times.  This one doesn't seem so bad, though.  At least it doesn't try too hard to be a "game" like some of the others do IMHO.

For a show that claims to be smart, Big Bang actually has a fair few errors. One episode, Leonard says "Gesundheit! Or as they'd say in Switzerland, Gesundheit." This is wrong, as they are going to Geneva in that episode, which lies in the French speaking region.

As for shows, I have recently watched:
Skins
Suits
Arrested Development
Dexter

And will be adding Misfits to the list soon.

So I guess it should be 'à tes souhaits' then. Or whatever they say in Geneva/Genève/Genf :P

One of the best series I saw recently was 'The Bridge' (Bron-Broen), a Danish-Swedish coproduction about a vague of crime sweeping both sides of the bridge connecting Copenhagen and Malmö. It's incredibly well made, it haunts you. The music they use is great too.

They have an American version coming out in July. It's a bridge between Texas and Mexico.

This is odd for some reason the trailer from you tube won't show up..

And a French-British version is also in the making, not with a bridge, but the Eurotunnel.

I am always a bit guarded when it comes to American remakes. There was a remake of 'The Killing' (Forbrydelsen) too, and it really wasn't good. Well, maybe I was expecting different things since I first saw the Danish version... However this trailer (I looked it up on Youtube, edited your message) looks promising.

Sadly trailers always look good. And often a lot better than the actual product.

Currently I'm re-watching Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex which remains one of my favorite series ever. Certainly the best anime series ever.

I've been watching episodes of Saddle Up.  Half hour shows about trail riding in the Rockies.  A lot of first person narration by the participants.  It is  documentary rather than reality as shows go.  Fantastic scenery with different sets of tourists.

The local Time Warner Cable company decided to "improve" service of local basic and HD channels by "changing their signal frequencies," resulting in me somehow losing the major U.S. networks.  They said subscribers with a decoder box should not be affected, and so naturally my cable box delivers black screens and no HD channels.  I suppose I will have to take time off of work to run the hassle of exchanging the current box for an upgraded model with an upgraded rental fee, but I have found that I really have no urge to watch anything in particular on the network channels, and so I haven't yet bothered to exchange the cable box.

In the meantime, after having enjoyed "Mars," I have been streaming "Meteor Garden," a 2001 Taiwanese drama based on the Japanese manga "Hana Yori Dango" ("Boys Over Flowers") and starring young idols Barbie Hsu, Jerry Yan, and Vic Chou.  Can impoverished tomboy student Shancai overcome the trials and tribulations of romancing the elite boy group F4?  Will she choose for her boyfriend the ridiculously wealthy bully Daoming Si, or the sullenly bashful, yet-still-ridiculously-wealthy pretty boy Huaze Lei?  Does true love bridge the divide between the Taipei's ruling nouveau riche and the disposable peasant class?  Was this show really filmed in 2001, and were those really the fashion styles of the post-millennial Sino-sphere?  Omigosh, how does mousy Barbie Hsu in pigtails attract so many bullies, rapists, and wife beaters in every show!  Amusingly, in this particular show, upstart Barbie Hsu in pigtails would fit well with a red armband and a megaphone as she assertively leads the one-girl crusade of the Chinese common folk against the class oppression of the Arrogant Pretty Boys.  Comrade Shancai, do not waver before the stylish hair, toned physiques, and smooth sweet talk of the Capitalist Pigs!  Pretend that they are really the playboy sons of despicable cable television company magnates!

I finally also caught the last episode of "Mayonaka no Panya-san" ("Midnight Bakery"), and I already feel like a glutton ready to start making my own fruit sandwiches.  I had never even heard of fruit sandwiches before!  The show was almost impossibly good-hearted, with freshly baked sweet bread healing all emotional wounds.  Fast-food donuts will just no longer suffice for me anymore.

What?  You've never even had a banana and peanut butter sandwich?  Deprived existence.

Must have been. Sure, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are an American staple, but, I admit I have never encountered sandwiches spread with honeyed whipped cream and filled with sliced strawberries, kiwi fruit, melon, and pineapple. My sweet tooth is already tingling!

The only TV I really watch is Philadelphia's 5 sports teams. The Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, Flyers, and Union

I don't watch much Western TV programmes, except for Just for Laughs Gags and the Wheel of Fortune (a long time ago).

Oh yeah I actually like Ninja Warrior.

Edit: I also find this quite funny

They're making a new Whose Line Is It Anyways?!  I'm pretty happy about that, even though it means I can only watch reruns online.  What a great show that is, even going back to the old British version.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. Unfortunately, Drew Carey won't be hosting it; he made the show funny just as much as the comedians did. The original guys (Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie) will be back, so I'm confident that the show will still be funny, but I don't think it will be as good as the original. Sequels rarely are. Hopefully they will still have the same games they used to play in the original. I loved when Colin and Ryan played Batman and Robin in "Sound Effects."
