Hello everyone: I have had a few people ask me about the small rapids (streams) that were in my last update. I'm not sure if you (the ones who were asking) were asking about the lighter water rapids or the darker smaller rapids surrounded by the concrete walls including the waterfall. The lighter coloured Rapids are the BSC RPK Vol1 Rapids found on Pegasus' web site. You must register and log in to download them... The other set (including the waterfall) are mine. I simply created two new textures and added some props and animated effects to them. They should be available for download within the next 24 hours. Take a look at Sorchins BAT thread for other things I'm working on.

usnaguy: Hey mate and welcome. Please look above for your answer concerning the rapids2.gif

Darmok: Hey my good friend John. Yeah, that's why the lack of updates lately my friend. That and I have been really sick with the flu15.gif. Please check the written part above for your answer concerning the Rapids buddy...

Nik-nik. Hey buddy. Have a good time mate. I'll see ya when you get back. I agree with you on the concrete walls. To be honest jeronijs walls look even worse here ( I tried them). I'm working on a BAT at the moment That I think will spice it up quite a bit. It will take awhile though46.gif

zzsim: Hello and welcome. Thanks for your wonderful comments mate43.gif

Kwakelaar: Het Gjurmund my good friend. Thanks mate. I believe I have fixed the lighting problem. Check my sig for a link to my BAT Thread. In my latest post there is a link to where Peg explains the best way to correct this problem...44.gif

collgab: Hello and welcome my friend. I'm glad you found it mate...

Gadfly: Thanks and welcome mate. It is very time consuming. But I enjoy it29.gif

GaBoR: Hey buddy. Thanks very much..

Fabiocb: Thanks my good friend. I appreciate it...

Update 30 B dedicated to Kwakelaar    Rapids...

    macedonasorchincj2wx.gif

Sorry for the lack of an update my friends. I have been very sick this week with the flu15.gif

But I'm feeling better now and have an update ready...

I am continuing the park area I started (probably for the next few updates). I will create a fairly complex water(rapid)way that will consist of over 10 waterfalls, the BSC rpk rapids and streams, Pegs streams and my own streams(rapids and waterfalls).

    Lets start with some terraforming...

    rapidsstart3fk.jpg

Now lets place some strategic waterfalls...

    waterfallstart0zz.jpg

    and...

    waterfallstart18ps.jpg

Lets fill in the space with some rapids...

    rapidscontinue2oa.jpg

    and...

    rapidscontinue17cg.jpg

    it's starting to fill in...

    rapidscontinue24iy.jpg

Notice in this panned out view there is no "life" to the waterfalls (the only flaw with these rapids)...

    waterfallrealism12bj.jpg

I went into the Lot Editor to add a coulple of "Special effects" to animate the waterfall and rapids somewhat to get a more realistic look. Lets see the results...

    waterfallrealism21zr.jpg

    That looks better I think...

Lets continue filling up the river rapids area...

    rapidsfillingup9np.jpg

And some more... I wouldn't want to be caught in those rapids...

    rapidsfillingupfinish8mk.jpg

Lets find a starting point where the river turns into these rapids we have been seeing...

    rivertorapidsstart4hu.jpg

Lets now add some flora to fill the area out...

    rivertorapidsflora0ki.jpg

    Lets complete the flora...

    rivertorapidscomplete2gk.jpg

This is my River (rapids) filler lots in action: They fill in better with Pegs streams and ponds but they work just fine with the RPK Vol 1 Rapids too with a little enginuity...

    lotfillertorapids8tg.jpg

And another pic... The neat thing about these fillers as I like to call them is that the water really appears to be moving (obviously not in the pictures, but in the game)....

    lotfillertorapids26ii.jpg

Some more pics of the Rapids completed area...

    rapidswaterfallcomplete2fm.jpg

    rapidswaterfallcomplete27iz.jpg

    and finally...

    rapidswaterfallcomplete35nr.jpg

This last pic is an overview of where the river rapids are flowing from, and where they are flowing too...

    riverflow7am.jpg

    Update complete.

Be sure to check out the STEX periodically for my new BAT uploads within the next 24 hours.

They will include the already seen River (rapids) filler Lots (there are 4 lots in all), and my two statue BATS named Statue Shieldman and Statue Swordsman:

    statuenightuploadpicture2xb.jpg

    statuesdayuploadpicture2rd.jpg

    Take care for now everyone.

    Have a great day....

    Hey sorchin,

Looks like I missed a few updates. Everything is looking so amazing - I love your use of the new RPK set! Looks really beautiful! I love the way you filled it all in with the various parks and wildflowers and bridges and rocks - very nice arrangement.  And I think your new statues turned out really well.

    Great job!

Hey, is there any chance of a *smaller* version of that first statue? I'm talking about the size of those smaller ones on the lot?

I love the statue, but I find the large one a bit *too* big for my liking. If not, that's ok, but it'd be nice.

    Just a kind request.

I'm not sure if I've ever been here, but because of this last update, I'll try to start coming to this CJ much more often because I'm totally impressed with that last update. Sooo much detail in that river region. And your BATting skills are incredible and detailed as well.

Two thumbs up and excellent work!

Kwakelaar: Hey bbuddy. Your definately NOT an amateur my friend. Your BAT's are great and your support of me is great as well buddy. I appreciate it9.gif

Yoman3: Hey my friend. Yeah you have to be brave to go down those rapids. That's for sure.46.gif

Jacky: Thanks as always my good friend. I appreciate your support..

kant01: Hey buddy. It took me quite awhile to get it the way it is. Lots of trial and error. Some CJ 'ers can do it effortlessly, not me. The finished results take's (as I said) quite awhile.47.gif. Thanks for your support...

    bat: Thanks buddy

Micah: Thanks Micah and welcome my friend. Your welcome anytime..

    Update 32 Dedicated to jacqulina

    macedonasorchincj2wx.gif

This update will concentrate on 3 areas; A sloped parking lot, a land bridge and a small residentila commercial area.

Lets start developing the parking lot:

    First we need to terraform:

    slopingparkinglotnt9.jpg

    Now lets slope the land:

    slopingparkinglot2cb3.jpg

    Laying the concrete:

    slopingparkinglot3xg5.jpg

    Now lets touch it up:

    slopingparkinglot5lj3.jpg

    Now for the land bridge:

    landbridgenn8.jpg

    And the bridge:

    landbridge2ik0.jpg

    Time to complete it:

    landbridge3ys3.jpg

And finally the res. com. area.

    First we'll terraform:

    residentialcommercialug8.jpg

    Time to zone the area:

    residentialcommercial2un3.jpg

    Lets see the results:

    residentialcommercial3tl6.jpg

Not a bad medium to high wealth area:

Now a couple of panned out views. Notice the sloping roads going up/down the hillside:

    overviewaw5.jpg

    and finally:

    overview2zq2.jpg

    That's it for today everyone.

Enjoy the rest of your day/evening..44.gif

    Hi Steve.

I nearly forgot how much fun it is to watch you developping a new area. I like Rivenfjord a lot. In a way it's a typicall "intechange village" with the few low-density residential housing and the mid-rise commercial building close to the on-/off-ramp, very nice touch. And the four guards towering over the highway are very interesting: They could be the entrance to a theme park or something like that... kind of an alienation effect, but still quite convincing.

Also great setup for the statue. The parks look wonderful. And you're attention to details is amazing once again. Very colourful and rather fantastic (Disneyland-ish... 2.gif) sure, but truly beautiful.

And your last update explains everything... that's quite a destination. Great job my friend.

I'm looking forward to your next update, take care Steve.

    - Phil

Fabiocb: Hey buddy. thnks mate. The rock lot is one of my own. It's easy to make. Go to here and download the 9th landmark down (the stonehenge one). Go into the lot editor, type in rock, you should see a number of different rock types, dark rock, med rock etc. they are a small prop rock. Then put a whole bunch of them on a 1x1 empty lot, rename it and your done. It should show up in the game no problem.

The flowers can be found here

    Hope this helps..

ginchael: LOL. Yeah no drinking and driving on those roads..47.gif There is the one mansion on the cliff. It's yours buddy. Hang your miniions all you like.43.gif
