that depends on what your are talking about when you say SimCity 5...are you talking about the game that Maxis has been describing that will be released in February 2013? If so not at all. If you are talking about a game that might come out some day that has the features that we want that are being axed from this game then quite a lot.

    That option...

I like the SimCity series because I gives me the feeling of managing my own city. Being able to sit back and watch my computer do work without my intervention, i.e. I like multitasking.

I voted option 3 because I'm not sure exactly how the specifics of the game will pan out, some things such as always being online do concern me along with map size... Basically all the things people discuss on other forums.

The jury is out until the game arrives and I get to play If my computer can run it which is doubtful lol.

My vote "I couldn't care less" is based on what EA has released to date and what appears to be locked into the final product. I agree with cirugo that if circumstances were different my vote would be just the opposite of what I voted.

(This is second attempt to post so if this duplicates...)

I chose 1. I'm not craving SC2013 at all, but I am getting more and more addicted to SC4

I think SC5 will be good, but I'm not as crazy about it as I was about SC4 before it came out, but then again I am 22 now rather than 13, times change!

I voted #1 because I'm not buying it, I'm not wasting my money if I only can play it online, my bandwidth cost me a small fortune every month.

Besides when the servers go off line I will have spend $90 (what it will cost here) for a game that is not a true Sim City.

If all of our "save games" are on servers, the game will be pointless...

If we only need to be connected for backup purposes, then I'll probably keep it.

I just created two petitions that would ask Maxis to make the "always on" requirement an option.

Could I post those links here?

Why don't you try the official site? Over the years, when this comes up here, it just doesn't go anywhere, so we don't encourage it. Thanks.

Why I'm not against making forum topics, why is this poll allowed? How much different is it from "Are you excited/disappointed for SC2012?"

Not craving is not the same as disappointed. Likewise, excited is not the same as craving. For example, I personally am excited about seeing the game, but I have no great desire to purchase it.

    Crave? Do you mean vomit?

By taking out many of the features that make SC4 so fun, such as terraforming, larger city sizes, 100% offline single player, etc., SC5 is a joke.

I play video games too, but playing games is enough a waist of time, let alone the possiblility of your cities that took days to constuct can be manipulated by outside factors, i.e. other people you didn't approve of, which makes it an ABSOLUTE waist of time.

I'm not going to take the time to construct that perfect city if I don't truly control what happens to it...

I don't like that they require an internet connection to play this game. I had seriously considered pre-purchasing this game, but since learning of the online requirement for game play, I have since changed my mind.

Also, since my primary desktop is Linux based, I play SC4 via Wine and it works quite well. I suspect Simcity 5 wont work at all or very poorly - I'm not going to switch to Microsoft Windows just for one game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the question not asking how much we want an actual SC5 game with features the community, not EA, wants? It seems quite a few people are rating SC2013.

When I heard it was being released for the first time, I'd have voted a 5. But now, that's downgraded to a 2.

To be (brutally) honest, I don't feel the least bit of cravings for buying the game. That does not mean I don't hope it succeeds. I will buy it if it is good.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I'm interested in this new direction, I can finally interact with other cities in a real time form.

I really like the idea of being able to integrate my friends into this game.

It'd be nice to be able to talk them about Simcity without them being confused.

At the very least it has a very long way to go to become the worst in the series (I'm looking at you Simcity 64).

I'll probably buy it at release, then complain when EA/Maxis releases a deluxe version with the expansion packs bundled in for $20 the next year.

I crave it! I pre ordered the DD version, because I feel as if people are expecting a carbon copy of SC4. I'm not, and I really like what I've been seeing as of late.
