This is one of the best cj's I've ever seen! Keep it up!. One suggestion though. You might want to sort of connect the borders some more because right now it looks sort of patchy in the regional view. Other then that, keep it up!!! -uncrazycooper

Your region has come a long way since the fist time I checked your CJ out, some really huge high-density areas and well chosen city layout. I also like your courage building those vast lawns.  If I lived in your region, I guess it would be one of those Lexington Homes in Chapel Green Estates in Clarendon (if affordable).
Great use of custom lots, by the way, what lot is the Constable Gallery?

Nice City- like the Station. Idk what a solution would be, but alot of thes CJs are very gd, but all quite the same. (Not directed at you in any way). I just think every city needs a bit of individuality. Smirks cities are often skyscraper seas which is different, and some are full of parks. I just think the big skyscraper thing gets a bit u know.
This city tho does have that very 'different' station which I kinda like, but I dont think I'd have it.

Ooh, dunno that'll set you back a few quid!!! I'll reserve one for you.44.gif Thanks for the comments, re the Constable Gallery, search in the Exchange. It's Art Museum, by jule 78. And it's a fine lot, I love it.

Yeah I understand what you're saying but I just find it difficult to vary the look of my cities too much. It must just be my playing style, I guess. I think the game itself also limits us to a certain extent, because even with loads of downloaded files from the exchanges mostly the same ones pop up, making it very repetitive. In, fact, if it wasn't for the outstanding quality of the lots/BATs that are on the exchange, I probably would've grown bored with the game by now. It would be great if they could find a way around this but they can't make it much more diverse because most computers out there probably wouldn't be able to handle the extra workload. It's a puzzler, I certainly don't have any answers for it.42.gif Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.44.gif

    Just a quickie.......

Hi guys I'm back with a very brief update for you. Time has not been on my side the past couple of days hence the limited progress. I have been expanding the borough of Kelseyheath, to the south of Central Norwich, by adding some medium residential and commercial areas. The first picture here is of the Heartsease area. An overhead view allowing you all to familiarise yourselves with it's location. The A2 comes in from Central Norwich and runs east into Deptwich. Branching from this main trunk road are the A20 (South) and A200 (West, towards CBD and links with A3). Mainly medium residential and commercial area with and expanded industrial estate to the north....

    /idealbb/files/12Kelseyheath.jpg

Next here is Heartsease shopping centre. A wonderful, busy pedestrianised area with hundreds of visitors looking for diversified shopping experience together with the relaxation provided by the sound of trickling water from the beautiful fountains across the street (and maybe a cheeky burger next door)....

    /idealbb/files/13Kelseyheath.jpg

And finally here is an aerial shot of the new residences close to the thriving Kingsway Station business district, ensuring that the immaculate Kelsey Heath is surrounded......

Norwich On The Map - Royalty Arrives!

Hello to all and welcome to another update (this time a thorough one). Mayor George was pondering on how to expand his city further to the west, in the borough of Oakhill. He thought and thought and just when he was about to give up he received a letter with a royal seal on it! Excited and intrigued, he opened it hastily. It was a personal message from the Queen, who wanted to take up residence in his city! Thrilled by this colossal recognition, he hurriedly went to work........

    SOUTH OF THE RIVER HEX.....

.....he extended the Pentney area, along the A4. First of all are the suburbs, with Pentney Wood to the north which stretches as far as the river....

    /idealbb/files/3Oakhill.jpg

Next is the Pentney Services area. Outside the loop road, clockwise are Wegmans Groceries (so Pentney residents don't have to travel too far for a pint of milk), McDonalds, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn and Imperial Express Petrol Station (x2). Inside the loop along with the car park are Hooters Restaurant (another successful American franchise) and Burger King......

    /idealbb/files/4Oakhill.jpg

The growth of Pentney's Industrial area....

    /idealbb/files/5Oakhill.jpg

    MALTHOUSE....

....now we turn our attention to the area around Malthouse Station. High-rise luxury, gimme some of that good livin'.....

    /idealbb/files/6Oakhill.jpg

Next is the Queen Elizabeth II University, which has 2,600 students. Opened by Her Majesty, it is the first in a number of buildings that show Norwich's dedication to a world-class education system....

    /idealbb/files/7Oakhill.jpg

Royal Dramatic College (3,000 students). Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo?.....
    /idealbb/files/8Oakhill.jpg.

Ancient History Museum. It holds more than 800 exhibits, including relics from Ancient Egypt, Greece and Mesopotamia. A tourist attraction in it's own right....

    /idealbb/files/9Oakhill.jpg

The Royal Literature Society, which holds some 216,000 items, including original transcripts of some of the literary classics throughout the ages....

    /idealbb/files/10Oakhill.jpg

Oakhill's central area, along the A5.....

    /idealbb/files/11Oakhill.jpg

This is New York Square. The central obelisk is a tribute to the tens of thousands of members of The Royal Navy who have died in history's many battles. The Norwich Tourist Board's journal jokingly reads Folks flock to feed the pigeons!, but in reality this is an extremely busy part of Oakhill. The New York Square Station (not visible here but is in extreme top-left of previous picture) has approximately 32,000 travellers passing through daily....

    /idealbb/files/12Oakhill.jpg

    THE QUEEN'S NEW RESIDENCE......

And now for the third jewel in Norwich's crown (Olympic Stadium and World Trade Centre being the others). Gresham Palace and it's grounds cost approximately

    Here goes.

Nice Plazas you got there in your quickie update. Heartsease Shopping Centre looks so good, and so realistic.  And as I mentioned, I just love how you do those large parks. Actually, that's how big they should be if you go for accuracy.

BTW, Not watching the Euro Football Championships since Englang had to go back home, eh?

To be honest I'm surprised England got as far as they did. The team is full of prima donnas esp. Beckham, the players and the press pick the team and the coach seems to have lost all tactical awareness. We could take a few lessons from the likes of Greece.

About the city, thanks for the comments and yes, I do like to make things realistic as far as the game will allow. The main parks in London seem to be 500-600 acres so I thought I'd try to mirror this (assuming that 1 tile = 16 metres in length).

    Thanks again.44.gif

New Expansion Sees Arrival Of Thistlehurst

Mayor George has decided to complete the encirclement of Norwich's south side with Thistlehurst. Thistlehurst has an awkward geographical location, with Kelseyheath to the east, City Of Norwich Airport to the north-east, the Pentney area of Oakhill to and A4 to the north and the imposing Thistlehurst Common to the south-west. Thistlehurst is fed by two main trunk roads, the A400 from Oakhill and the A3 from Kelseyheath.
First picture here is an aerial view, with place labels...

The Seven Sisters area. It got it's name from..... well, can you guess???

Next here, herds of wild deer have made Thistlehurst Common their home. Mayor George officially set the area aside during his speech at the Planning and Transportation Department's annual dinner and ball. It's time to give a little back.......
