Ok, Explain the story behind your avatar, like how did you get it, what does it mean, what do you want to show to others...

This is not to be confused with "The Avatar above me" game. The goal is not to rate other's avatar here, it is to explain yours.

For me, the glass ball is a Cycles test render

Glass Material: Glass shader with IOR 1.517 connected to Surface output

Floor material: A mix between black and white diffuse shader using a gradient texture to control the mask.

P.S. I don't know how to upload an image.

Rendered with 100x100, 300 samples

I rememeber another thread like this. But, ok:

Have you seen the movie Outpost?

He's one of the soldiers in the bunker, in the shadow, you can't see his face because... he's in the shadow.

I really like it. Just because, I feel identify, because he's in the shadows. Also because I have a leather huntress (I don't know the english word, for me is cazadora) just like that he's wearing.

Avatars record:

avatarstorial.jpg

1. A drawing of a person from the 20's or 30's. From DeviantArt (looking for the deviation).

2. Only For Humans. From District 9.

3. Halt! Hammerzeit. A photo of a SS soldier falling in the ice.

4. SS Zombie. From DeviantArt (looking for the deviation).

5. Antartical Route 1.

6. Police wearing a leather suite.

7. It's Free Meme.

8. Actual one.

It's a Cobra Roll. A fairly common roller coaster element also going by the name of "Boomerang". Half a loop, half a corkscrew, same in reverse.

The blathering moose seems self-evident. It is a free image from the web some years ago. What else would you expect from A Nonny Moose who keeps a bar upstairs.

Best record label ever, Anjuna.

I like the housey side myself, Anjunadeep.

Anjunabeats (trance) is also grade-A legit though.

Pennywise the clown, photoshopped as a painting, found on worth1000.com

Original:

wlaz42.jpg

I don't really know why I chose it. I just liked it, and it's easily recognizable.

I used to have a logo with "Sphinx" on it, which is the name of the city I've been building for the last 5 years in this game and of which I'm trying to make a CJ, but I don't think I'll ever finish it. But because it was a logo of an existing company, I changed it to IT.

My latest avatar is a custom made drawing of a MLP-themed pegasus-pony, since I've become a brony since a few months. As being a NAM member, my pony has a proper construction suit and a helmet with the NAM logo on it. The dutch flag is there since I'm dutch.

Other avatars I have were mostly sign-based. I used to have the European "Freeway" sign as my avatar.

Best,

Maarten

It was once the Space Needle (back when I was Ilikeseattle). At one point I put in a cursive white capital M.

Now it is of my favorite landmark, The Washington Mutual Tower. My real picture from Facebook is on my profile.

You, sir, are full of win. I attended the UW from out of state and am planning on moving back there sometime soon.

Related to your post more directly though, have you seen any WaMu Tower BATs around the STEX?

Washington Mutual Tower, I think I saw 2. One of them had bright, simplistic, unrealistic and cartoony textures/colors.

WaMu Center is a generic rectangle and there are plenty of lots that look similar.

I'm descended from a Preston Bee born 1835, don't know when he died as he emigrated to America and the family never heard from him again, hence the bee avatar

Interesting because the bee is also a Napoleonic symbol.

My current avatar is a hilarious pun I came up with one day in response to a discussion about Polio. Of course, I immediately figured "there's no way nobody's thought of that one before, it's too obvious". And so I put it into Google image search and sure enough, up popped this.

It may be noted that this is the 70th(!) avatar I've had since registering here. As such, I will not be listing and explaining them all (although I could :P ).

Way back in the old days you could select font colour and username colour in chat - mine were green and pink. Signature and avatar matched. The sig is gone, but the avatar stayed. I don't think it'll ever change, but never say never?

My first avatar. Was my favorite album at the time... and actually still is.

I had this since I joined and up until like a year ago.

fo3.png

Fallout 3. Added scan-lines to it and had this for a long time.

epic_color.jpg

After a little chat meme I decided to add color to my old avatar.

Adventure Time! My current avatar. Lets see how long I'll keep it. I found it on DA I think.

I didn't bother adding the like, 5 miscellaneous ones I've had.

Honestly not much story... :P

@Alejandro: I looked it up and Cazadora roughly translates to bomber jacket. So the eighth picture is of you. That is pretty cool looking in the shadows, then again so is picture 6 (policeman) and the Nazi zombi was cool as well.

< Ryan Chappelle from season 3 of 24.

It is from one of the most saddest scenes when Ryan leans that someone named Steven Sanders wants him dead because he stumbled upon a clue when investigating a money trail and Jack Bauer had to kill him, an innocent man had to die to protect the lives of others, or else he would release a toxic gas.

Way back in the wee old days (early 2011) I was

logo.png

Fairly self explanatory.

After a while I wanted something less blatantly obvious so I went for something like this (I lost the original...)

80439.png

That was fun while it lasted

Right up until the sheep phase. Oh god the sheep phase.

photo-421409.gif

started off as this bad boy, 60's porno sheep.

Went onto GOLDEN SHEEP shortly thereafter

free_llama_running__3_by_meninasuitcase.gif

Which lead into commie golden sheep, a little bit of giving into a trend here

golden_sheep_commie.gif

Which I stuck with for a good while, got me nommed for a trixie that one did.

Right up until I stumbled upon partygif.gif Which was obscure enough, awesome enough, round enough, blinky enough, random enough and most importantly had the word party in it.

partygif.gif

I'll be sticking with this bad boy until something else catches my eye :P
