For a first BAT, you show us really good skills.

And the LOT is excellent too, not an easy job but these one's are well done :)

The lot looks good because it has some of your props and flora on it

btw the KFC is available on the STEX. You can get it here :D

This is awesome, I love your 5x5 version and the lot looks so good with the dependencies too. I can't wait to see how Starbuck's and Safeway will look now. Best first BAT ever. :thumb:

Release it when it's ready and done. Don't rush anything to the STEX just because there's a goal set or you're on a personal high. Perfected = ready to share.

No big update but its something. So because my birthday is in a week or two I decided I wanted to give a gift instead of receiving one. Its a Farmers (insurance not agriculture) office In Tukwila Washington. I love this building soo much. its like round street view. Also because its round link with a tall glass entrance.

The Starbucks is nearly finished so don't worry about that, I just need to add some final details to make it more realistic.

Hope everyone is doing well :D

The bat is great, and aside from the lack of props and junk in the back the lot looks good. One thing I'm confused about is what is supposed to be the panda express logo? It looks like the WWF logo.

This one would be more accurate.

I plan on adding a sign that shows the stores like a formal strip mall. Yes marsh is right it is actually the WWF panda but they look similar and I did not wan't to go with the traditional logo :whatevs: Its supposed to be modern and minimalist

It's fine being modern and minimalist, although how that applies to signage i'm not sure..but they are too seperate companies so it doesn't really make much sense, especially if you are trying to make a Panda Express and there is already a perfectly good sign. If its WWF HQ then of course the sign is appropriate. Sorry, just a minor point on an otherwise nice BAT.

I'm with GC on this one. I didn't even know a restaurant chain named "Panda Express" existed, so my first thought was "What's the WWF logo doing on what looks like one of those suburban American restaurants?" - couldn't make much sense of it.

The BAT looks good to me, except for some minor aspects. The saturation of the window awnings is a bit too high IMO, they really glow and stand out more than a fire truck. I'm not sure about the ground plane, either. Those buildings aren't that complicated architecturally, but what little variation from your average shoebox shape there is gets swallowed by the strictly rectangular ground plane, which also makes it hard to integrate the building with the lot. Right now it just doesn't look like it's an integral part of the lot somehow. Finally, I think the roof texture could use some more definition.

With your KFC you have shown that you can do it, and I'm confident that you will be able to produce a Panda Express that's equally good, if not even better. Keep it up! :)

Thanks for the advice GC and T Wrecks. :)

So iv'e decided to take a break from suburban BATS and do more "culture" related civic BATS, such as libraries, museums of art and history, science centers ect....

First up is a BAT close to my heart that has sadly been demolished but replaced with one of the most icon libraries in the world. I spent many days here with my abuelo when I was little. So as before when I asked for much advice on my Kfc i'll be asking advice here as i try to learn new things and apply things I have figured out. :)

Looks interesting and promising. Maybe you want to review your modeling techniques, I feel like you still using primitive techniques have you try poly modeling?

Thanks, I'll check out some tutorials :)

It's been a while since I updated so i'll do it now.

A couple days ago I got re interested in a house I was making. I actually lived in a real life version of this house for about two years. So I was thinking I would make a small house pack of about 5 different styles(color, stone, roofline, ect)with the same base model so it whould go rather quick. I think it would be quite cool if bipin and Zulu released their houses around the same time I did. Like a housing avalanche  . Wishful thinking maybe, what do you guys think of the house?

Hope everyone is doing well and keeping warm happy holidays

Nice to see you back, I think it is a great idea to model your own house..

The model looks over-scaled, unless it is a huge house. And as I already mentioned should revising your modeling techniques for example poly modelling will make things easier, simpler and tidier...you should be able to model all you got at the moment our of a single object.

I guess it's time to bring this tread back to life. So over the summer I have been working on a few projects, one I have ready to show and the other i'm not quite satisfied with showing it yet.

Here is the first one: (they are both car related btw)

I need suggestions on what might be lacking and what not :D
