Yes this is the right thread to post in for this, and welcome to ST. From what I've seen, you can only connect one-way roads or split avenues/ regular avenues (not sure about split ground level highways/ regular highways but it wouldn't hurt to try). You can't drag them together yourself, though. What I do is I end the RHW, then drag a OW Road (make sure it's in the right direction). What you must do is seperate the two transits by one tile and they should automatically connect. Hope this helps you out!

numbchuckwoods:

For oneway/RHW connections> Drag the RHW up to the edge of the oneway road, then with the oneway road tool, click on the nearest tile next to the RHW. A workong connection will be established. This is a new error for the new RHW patch (0.13B) Before, all you had to do was drag the two networks together.

For ave/RHW connections> just drag the RHW tool from the end of an avenue, and then drag the other side and you should get a working connection. This is the easiest way to connect the RHW to other road networks.

For ground Highway/RHW connections> its a bit tricky.. Ill do this one in 3 easy steps to follow for ya:

1: Build a ground highway

2: Connect an ave to the end of your ground highway, but only for 1 tile.

3: Connect the RHW to the avenue end just as you would a regular ave/RHW connection.

As of now, that is the only way to connect a ground highway with the RHW. However, I have speculations that this will be fixed in the next release so you can just connect the RHW directly to a ground highway.

Hope this helps, and welcome to Simtropolis numbchuckwoods! 9.gif

Hey Thanks for the replies.

I posted this at work. Then I went and studied some more of the pictures at the beginning of this thread. When I got home I figured it out on my own.

When I get home today I'll post some pictures of what I made last night in the "Show us your interchanges" thread.

Once again thanks for the help!

nerdly_dood: So far in the project you can drag street intersections with the RHW. There is also a road intersection texture for the RHW-2 network. Various other intersections will be released in future versions.

i am aware of those, i just want to connect roads to RHW without using the yellow-dotted-line texture.

and will there be a road/rhw2 transition texture? i think it is wierd that the gray highway with the extended shoulder instantly turns black with no shoulder.

Hmm.. nerdly_dood, that is a good request. A road-RHW-2 transition is a good idea.

I know that mjig_dudy is the main member who is working on the RHW-2 so a reply from him could answer your question. You could also send a PM about your question because it seems do-able. The pathing is already there, all we need is a one-tile transition texture.

Nice job with this release, rickmastfan67! I like how it looks like the regular RHW and the new Euro-RHW put together. With 3 textures now, the network can now look like a highway in nearly every region of the world (though we are missing an Asian-RHW but you see my point).

Of the 3 textures, I got to say this one looks the best in comparison to my country (Canada), while other country/region may still prefer another RHW texture. I really like this network veriety because it represents a more worldwide view.

Thanks again RHW team! Your progress is stunning, really!

Tommy7777: There are no release dates, because people work on these things on their own free time, so no one knows when it will be done. Just be patient. The RHW-8C may not even be included in the first "alpha and/or beta" release of the NWM (Network Add-On Mod, which will include the next RHW version).

If you click on the image in my signature, it will take you directly to the RHW project @ SC4D.

Can we please close this thread down so there will not be two threads: one the older thread that has gotten kind of...trashy, and the other real thread?

~ COMING SOON! Exciting new projects! ~

People, who haven't got accounts at SC4D can still ask questions in this thread about the RHW, and there are still people to answer them to the best of their knowledge(like HalJackey, for instance) and I don't see people asking questions as 'trashy'.

LivingInThePast: Simtropolis is SC4's busiest community. Many people learn about the RHW network here, and, knowing that it exists, can then view the progress over @ SC4D. Who knows, some of them may even become interested with the project and would like to help out. This is a very popular thread (more views than the NAM threads), and thus, I feel there is still a need to keep it active.

If we close it down, our chances of spreading the work for the RHW network and acquiring new modders will decrease significantly. And, as Warrior stated, many of us check this thread regularly, which is a great help to other members who have questions/comments concerning the RHW network

Additionally, updates are still posted here from members @ SC4D, and without this thread, where would the updates be posted?

I hope you see my view on the situation, and I hope it helps change your mind.

EDIT:  I would agree with you if the project is dead, but right now, its very alive and active!

-Haljackey.

Try dragging 2 RHW "roads" next to eachother for at least 3 tiles.  The result: The Rural Highway!  It should then work and function like the RHW network.

If you have any more problems, check out the readme in the files.  There is also a step by step guide there with pictures to help you establish a working RHW network.
