Hello All!!! (Even those lurkers...) Schools out for summer, and study, but that means more time for SC4, and ahem, Age of Empires 3 in a couple of weeks43.gif
    In order of gracious comment:
    Jacquilina: Thanks as always44.gif
Pipishere: Yes, its the busiest port in New Zealand! Thanks a bunch
Fox: Thanks, although I cant warp your name like you did mine. The design centre is at the forefront of modern architecture, 20 years ago. Good idea for the comp...
As part of the nationwide green streak rollout, mant CBD highways are getting green verges.
Dont worry, I took that zone by the stadium out right after taking the photo, a ped strip is under constriction.
And finally, this post again is excellent, hope to see you soon!
gerAndi: WOW!!!! what a nice comment!48.gif, ill try not to stop.
Sloppet: Thankyou, ill see you at the SCJU summit!
Yakusi: Kia ora! Yay, another Kiwi, im dragging them out one by one. And no, the planners this time were wise to avoid another spagghetti junction, I dont think even the NAMers woul make a junction that tangled!
Micah: Thanks, hope to see you soon then.

The area to the west of Eden City, Remuera, has had abit of attention recently as plans for a new Kings Harbour sering airport were leaked.
    RemOveriew.jpg
The highway originally attracted alot of critisism, but an airport at the right of this picture would make sense, the bridge links directly to the CBD.
Another industrial area as also begun, in hopes of the new airport in the near future.
    NewIndustry.jpg
Meanwhile, back in the city, development is almost only extending southward, with new urban areas attracting wealthier residents.

    BuildingGap.jpg
One main street has become known as The Glitz, fronting onto it is the SMI Bank centre, the Vercetti Corp building, and the Harcourt Mall.
    TheGlitz.jpg
This photo became hugely popular after it was claimed to be taken by the King while flying in from Waiheke, unfortunately, the photographer turned out to be a schoolteacher at a small Waiheke primary school.
    SouthCBDNight.jpg
The northern, older part of the CBD is still growing however, with the area near the Vero centre becoming an informal Financial District.
    FinancialDistrict.jpg
The Capital area at the bottom of the Deonport peninsula has also grown, with the addition of the St Marque Inlet Embassy near the high court:
    SMIEmbassy.jpg
To the east of the government offices lies the political suburb of Versaille, infamously home to N.As busiest intersection. The suburb is home to many of N.A's MP's, with foreign diplomats staying in the goernment offices.
    Versialle.jpg

The Devonport naval base is still not open to public viewing, but again a glimpse can be seen:
    NayTeaser.jpg
The New Fisher stadium area has been gien over to a cafe strip, as well as a desirable area for N.A's elite.
    CafeStrip.jpg
Planners have also published a transport map of N.A. available to any developers and suggestions.

    N.A. Herald
    SCJU summit
PM Neil Finn will be attending the first SCJU summit in the loely nation of Cordovia, to the East of New Zealand. At the summit, he and N.A's ambassador to the SCJU, as Minister of Tourism, will be speaking on the topic. The King is rumoured to be making his presence there, but he has not released a comment.

Cool update there Exchagga. New airport hey? Sounds like it is going to be fun.

Thanks for allowing the SMI bank to set up a National HQ in your City. Hopefully it will be looking into makeing huge investments into your industrial boom as well as in the financial sector.

Some nice night time shots there... very beautiful.

Nice to see the St. Marque Inlet Embassy there. You've picked a very nice place for it. I feel honoured.

Devonport naval base is looking good... from the little bits we can see. I look forward to seeng the whole area once it is finished.

Wow... nice Regional shot there. Very nice. I'll be looking at that map closely and think about some suggestions I can offer.

Keep up the great work Exchagga.

I don't know much about rendering maps - but I do know that this region very closely resembles Auckland in real life and I think it was done using a map of Auckland.... so good luck with any suggestions!

I can think of one or two to make the region resemble real life a little more, but game mechanics dont allow it 7.gif

Just a little update today, mainly because I spent such a bloody long time on the newspaper!
    @sorhin: Thanks for the comment48.gif
@Pip: Its nice to be back, and hopefully better then ever! Sorry, the king couldnt make it to the summit, noone knows where he is...
    @Sloppet: Thanks a bunch10.gif
@Fox: A loely comment as always, in beautiful purple. I thought i better get better at building airports, maybe I could get some suggestions??? I like the night shots too, especially of downtown areas. Being first, the SMI embassy gets the best plot of course (Pip you should've got in sooner 2.gif) and the bank is a lovely addition to the skyline.
@ Skyshroud: Yeah, the region was kindly donated by Corlian a couple of years ago. So I may have the only copy on ST! Its made from a greyscale map of the real Auckland, so its nice and accurate(although the scale's a tad small) Its nice to see you back though19.gif

    Header.jpg
To the west of the CBD, on the border with Remuera, a causeway has been built for the airport expressway, forming a lovely little shallow lagoon, perfect for swimming. On the Northern, causeway beach:
    MWayCauseway.jpg
    And the southern beach:
    BeachyKeen.jpg

The port is busy 24 hrs a day, officials now estimate over $30million a day flows through the port.
    portnight.jpg

Also, the New Auckland herald has finally allowed its front page to published here, so, without further ado:
    Newspaper1.jpg
EDIT:Sorry, didnt notice the image quality32.gif, it'll be more readable next time. Promise.

I must say, this CJ is getting better and better... Been looking at it since the beginning, but not commented. I like the industrial ports you have - though as I have found with PEG's mods, you can't do diagonal fronts, which would be cool.

Where did you get the elevated rail station from? Think it's on page 2 - I like it. If it's your own, it looks really good. You've added your own style to the game.

Your CJ (and others) have given me a few ideas to add to my own cities, so thank you.

    Yay... another great update...

I'm glad my airport insipred you to think a little more about making custom airports instead of the default Maxis ones. Not that there is anything worng with the Maxis ones.

That first picture looks great, although I nice that the highway is a little bumpy lol... looks funny. More nice beaches there. New Auckland just might be the perfect place for say... a romantic Royal honeymoon... not that I'm spreading rumours around... but you never know...

    /winks @ Pip... 2.gif

Looks like a busy port indeed... Hopefully with the new trade coming in from SMI that port will be getting bigger too... We'll have to sit down and work out some more deals.

Great addition of adding the New Auckland herald. Looks a little blurry at the bottom, kinda like a contract really...hey.. what did I just waiver from reading that... 3.gif

Really... looks interesting... Thanks for highlighting the plights of my Nations Capital too.. I appreciate it. Some interesing info there too reguarding the summit. I can't wait to see what the outcome was and read over the minutes.

    Keep the updates coming...

Oh @  Skyshroud - You would have noticed that Exchagga typed this in his update   Planners have also published a transport map of N.A. available to any developers and suggestions. Right above the last picture. This is what I'm refering too... plans for development and transport, nothing to do with terraforming the Region. Hope that clears your confusion.

Howdy, Hola, Gidday, and Kia Ora to all! Sorry about the unreadable newspaper there, this time its better!
@BLTsandwich: Thanks for that! Ive dragged another lurker out of the..um..lurky place! Diagonal ports would be very nice, instead of the staggered way Ive had to do them. And no, In the words of Sepsis(I think) I couldn BAT my way out of a paper bag, but do you mean the blue glass HighriseGrandStation El-Rail station, or the concrete terminal? They're both from the Japanese BAT thread, on one of the first pages.31.gif
    @Fox: Yay...another great comment...3.gif
Yeah, the Omaha attempt a custom airport isnt too grand, but i hope this one is a little better!
Im going to flatten out Kings harbour, fixing the bumpy expressway, Ill get a pic for the next update. And Pip said a honeymoon would be fantastic, hes booked the flight already18.gif
The port has grown as big as its britches, but another one in Remuera is planned.
I hope this newspaper turns out OK, theres a little bit about SMI in the corner ( Visit SMI here for those who dare!
@Pip: Those people wanted to be close to the motorway! Thanks for dropping by!
@ Jacqulina: I like the night pics too19.gif
@Leech10: Thankyou! Ill drop by your CJ soon
@MsD: Glad the name attracted you to this CJ! Hehe, bomb, volcano(sorry for that)
    @Lord_Bertrun: Thankyou, I try my best21.gif
    Header.jpg
Finally, the Airport is finished! The citizens of Kings Harbour were sick of the hour long drive up north to Omaha Beach, so this one was built only minutes from the South CBD. The Queen Tara Memorial Airport, named after Cordovia's late monarch, was christened with a landing by the King in his private jet. Already, thousands of passangers have passed through it, and tonnes of special cargo.
    AirportBirdseye.jpg
This is the entrance to the passanger terminal, served by a tram service from the surrounding sea of carparks.
    Enrtance.jpg

    carparksea.jpg
The international terminal is the largest in New Zealand, and has a huge capacity in case of a succesful games bid.
    terminal.jpg
The larger runway runs East/West, and serves most international flights, especially those from Cordovia, Canberra, and SMI. The smaller, North/South runway serves domestic flights as well as those to other parts of NZ.
    runwayxing.jpg

    Nth-Southrunway.jpg
The cargo terminal is sited right beside a new canal leading to the nearby industrial park, and also is served by rail and road to the CBD and Devonport
    Canal-cargo.jpg.

After a printing error, the revised, hot off the press edition of the New Auckland herald is here!

Great update Exchagga. The new airport looks fab. Great choice of name for it too...

St. Marque Inlet would love to set up direct flights to New Auckland starting as soon as possible.

The newspaper is looking much better than the original version. Thanks for memtioning the terror attacks in SMI. Although I think Pips story takes much more priority at this stage. Such a sad day indeed.

Thanks for the link to my cj too... I appreciate it.

Keep up the great work, I look forward to another update.

Its time again for another update, so greetings all, and welcome to any newbies!
    @Pip:You're too kind43.gif Thankyou!!!
@Fox: ANA(Air New Auckland) has 3 non-stop flights per week to SMI already. Thankyou very much though for your fine comment, and you need not wait any longer, as the update is here3.gif
@slann: I like night shots too, maybe a bit too much, ill try to slip in some daytime shots next time. Thanks for dropping by!

A free-trade deal with NAFTA and Australia have started another industry boom, especially in King's Harbour.
    IndustryRes.jpg

    NwesternMway.jpg
With it, suburbs have spread out from the new industrial areas, with the council trying in vain to stop it from sprawling.
    Newton.jpg
North Beach has become a magnet for the wealthier members of society, and has been infamously dubbed Miami Beach by the rest of King's Harbour.
    MiamiBeach.jpg

In the CBD, the Juncto Fashion Acadamy's new contest for the design of its new college has attracted a variety of characters. Junction Square, in the middle of the CBD has become NA University's Arts School, and is now a very respected area.
    JunctionSquare.jpg
High Street, behind the New Fisher Stadium, is an informal clothing strip, with many respected designers setting up shop there.
    HighStreet.jpg

Meanwhile, in an effort to get rid of the accuastions that he has made secret agreements with Canberra, the PM allowed press to enter the devonport naval area. Only this picture has been approved so far:
    OfficialNavy.jpg
But this picture was taken by a high altitude plane by a so far anonymous journalist:

In this picture we can see a new satalite receiving dome, which rumours are saying is used for listening in on other nations.
