  1. THE Greater Auckland Region

Amazingly perfect, the real Auckland. I live on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, at the top of the map on the east coast.
  2. Westpac Bulding

Great to see some more NZ stuff in here!.. what is is we are meant to say?? "represent y'all" ahem. Keep it up!
  3. About to start my first game

cool thanks. I understood that there was a routing error with the original game, but I didnt know what it was. Good to know its the difference between most direct & fastest. I'm running Civ4 and a few other big things with no problems so I'm hoping for the best, even though from reading here it does seem that the requirements are high - would have hated to try play when it was first released.
  4. About to start my first game

Thanks for the quick replies. Yup I have played the original SC a bit, and SC2000 a lot. I'm a civil engineer and really looking forward to the mass transit options being able to run in addition to freeways. It's all a bit silly really, I run traffic simulation models at work and here I am about to do the same thing for fun in the evening - except with prettier graphics. Two answers the same, that's good enough for me unless anyone can come up with any convincing reasons as to why I shouldn't listen to you two :-P
  5. Having signed up to this site a long time ago, Ive finally managed to get out and get the game. Computer power was the main thing holding me back, but now I'm looking forward to getting into it. I'm interested in what people think about just running SC4 Deluxe for a city or 2 before installing the NAM... or is the game broken and I shouldn't bother with vanilla, and just mod up before playing anything. I'm looking forward to getting building, but scared (! - ?) about the number of downloadable things out there. At least I get to add a few things from home... New Zealand.. excited about that.
  6. New Auckland

Disaster in NA! I am loving some of your jokes from earlier posts that only people from NZ get. Had a few laughs at them. Especially the Progressives rankings in the polls heh I hope that the problems get sorted out before 2011... we have a world cup to be ready for! (no not soccer incase some of you are woundering)
  7. New Auckland

Canals look good... and the barley blacks.... classic
  8. New Auckland

in case of a succesful games bid Im hoping in vain that it will be a successful world cup bid at least... And thats not football, to all you soccer heads! :-p
  9. New Auckland

Wow... nice Regional shot there. Very nice. I'll be looking at that map closely and think about some suggestions I can offer. I don't know much about rendering maps - but I do know that this region very closely resembles Auckland in real life and I think it was done using a map of Auckland.... so good luck with any suggestions! I can think of one or two to make the region resemble real life a little more, but game mechanics dont allow it
  10. New Auckland

and extra securit guards have been put in place to avoid the embarrasment of the last robbery heheh........... at first I thought the theft had been from Whenuapai, luckily it was only Ardmore!
  11. New Auckland

Cordovia Valley............ Reminds me of Cadrona... its got some letters the same :-/
  12. Light Rail

My guess is that the tension in the over head wires push it down.
  13. Sculpting Columbia River

The first time Ive looked at this CJ was just after it was finished, so Im quite lucky. Well done dude.
  14. Digby - East Coast Region
