Funny thing about casinos, I can go in and play a game of poker, but if i try to play slots on the bottom floor, they have guards that refuse me access to them.

Why can i bet at the race track and play poker, but have to be 21 to play slots?

That depends on your local state laws.

It's 18 for both alcohol and gambling here, as far as I'm aware.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I don't do gambling, but I like auto racing, be it NASCAR, WRC, or F1, or anything else I happen to catch on TV. I don't really have any favorite drivers or teams, though.

But your in Japan, you don't even hit the parlor for alittle pachinko?

I'll admit a little more challenging but more entertaining.

There was a teacher at the company I worked at before who played pachinko everyday, and would head across the train station plaza to play during his lunch hour. I've never played, though, and there are a few good reasons why (besides not being very good at it): When the automatic doors open, you can smell the unbelievably powerful stench of cigarettes. It's awful. The noise from those places is unbelievable, too. I've been to casinos back in the States (in Michigan's UP, in New Orleans), and pachinko parlors have the loud binging and beeping from the machines, but also the cheesy idol pop music raging over all of it. If I was to imagine circles of hell on earth, one of them would be a pachinko parlor.

EDIT: My wife just reminded me of the large population of disgusting old people who frequent these establishments. It really can't be stressed enough that they are largely awful places.

I played pachinko once at a videogame exhibit at the science center. It was fun. Also, it is illegal to smoke in most public places here in the state of Washington though smoking rooms are legal.

Japan is WAY behind the US (or different, if you don't care) in terms of smoking restrictions. Buildings have smoking rooms (which always causes whatever rooms they're attached to to stink), there are very few restrictions on smoking in the streets, and restaurants still have smoking sections. It took some getting used to, being asked "Smoking or non?" at the restaurants here.

Adjusted for inflation, Mitt Romney is half as wealthy as George Washington was.

I have alot of issues with Mitt.

1. He is WAY to moderate for me, i feel as though he is running on the wrong ticket.

2. He is not trustworthy, he takes any stance that can further advance his career.

3. He he was pro Obamacare and put his own Romneycare in effect in his state when he was a governor.

I want someone who is consistent and does not take the liberal side of things.

I'm not concerned with his wealth, It is not a shame to be successful, but he lies about everything to his wealth to the accounts he has in the Cayman islands, America needs an consistent Conservative, someone like Ronald Reagan to pull us out of the mess, and it sure as heck isn't Mitt Romney.

All Republicans are liberals. If you forget, here is the difference between a conservative liberal and an ultraconservative:

Do you agree with strict theocracy (e.g. Sharia Law)? If not, you are a liberal.

Do you agree with slavery? If not, you are a liberal.

I like Mitt Romney because he knows how to handle money and at this point in American history, it does not matter what your social views as long as you can truly help with the economy and national debt and deficit.

That is why we have a Chairman of the Federal Reserve, he should run for that instead.

If it does not happen, we are looking at a very grim 4 more years, by then though everyone will be on government support and no one will bother to work anymore and nothing will ever get done and we will all be fat anyway.

Obama's doing fine, just look at (insert any other first world country here). They're doing pretty well with (insert policy).

Seriously though, quite a lot of the rest of the world prefers Obama to the alternatives. We just don't get to vote in your elections (as opposed to a lot of Americans, who don't vote by choice).

I am not sure if some of those sensationalist claims are honest opinions or facetiousness because Michelle Obama has her own little crusade against obesity.
