There shouldn't be any compatibility issues - the computer runs XP, and SC4 was programmed with that in mind.

Leaving it to run longer leads to an error message that it can't detect the disc. It might be an issue with the fact I'm using a USB cd/dvd drive. Ah well, my laptop runs SC4 so there's no real problem.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I'm having fun relearning how to build profitable cities in SC2k. I think I'll give SCURK a try as well.

I've had SC4 since 2004. Never had any earlier versions and one of the reasons why I wanted it so badly was that I could control vehicles and blow them up.

Not being able to buy alcohol legally, nor having any desire to buy it at all, I've never been carded for it. Rated R movies, cigarettes, and 17+ concerts, on the other hand, I'm still carded for.

I've never been carded for an R rated movie. Then again, the number of R rated movies I've seen in theaters is rather small, and I can't offhand think of one I went to see without my father being there too.

R rated movies I've seen in theaters:

    Matrix Reloaded

    Matrix Revolutions

    Terminator 3

... and I think that's it! Googling lists of top R rated movies from the past 10 years, there are many more that I've seen, but all only on DVD.

    Really?

Its funny, the first time I was ever carded was this year buying scratch off tickets in Minnesota, I used to buy rated R movies in stores all the time even when I was 14 no questions asked, I hadn't even been carted going into casinos and I even bought cigars, they just didn't care, however if I tried to buy alcohol, I'd probably get some unwanted attention :P

A lot of R-rated movies just don't appeal to me, and I don't smoke, so the times I need to show any proof of age are few and far between.

I ate at the bar at one of the best restaurants in town, the Met. The happy hour special had kobe beef (real wagyu steak sirloin) burgers with steak frites for a mere $7 (instead of $15). Of course there was a one drink minimum so I was carded and the three of us all had a single glass of red cabernet each with of our burgers. I hate the taste of beer and I don't like getting drunk so I have had less than half a dozen alcoholic drinks this year (well, since I turned 21 in August).

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

I'm pretty sure I snuck in to see all of those movies you listed, Duke. So I guess I wasn't carded for those ones.

Never gotten as lucky as you Larks, maybe you just look older or something. I can still pass off as a highschooler.

    Ten-thousand post thread

    We post what we must

    Because we can

For the good of all of us

Except the ones who have left.

But there's no point crying over numbers misplaced,

You just keep on typing 'til you run out of space,

And the post count gets done,

And we start a new run,

For the people who are still inside.
