Wow! I really thought one of those pics was a rea-life photo. Astonishing work! You'll use your own creations for your HK CJ, I suppose?

well its pretty good start - but there is waay more going on with the tower than is currently presented. I know the urge to array your floors and make a like 10 tower

monster is great. The HK Residential are enormous and kind of exhilarating, but you need to stop slow down and fine tune your details.

here is a closer pic > Ocean_Shores_Phase_3.jpg

For instance your towers are a little too flat, I would start simple gather tuns of research photos - examine each window model that then move to the next. I gave you some website reference - explore tat webpage - it has a wealth of info. This project is huge - 10+ towers a real beast. Some of the towers are different as well.

longbeach.jpg

Here is an example of the upcoming Long Beach, I carefully created a window, then it neighbor then kept going - fortunately the Long Beach has 2 different towers, and 3 of them have slightly different wings, so I am only effectively making 3 towers, also the window pattern repeats a lot and you can use the correct window size in other instances, careful examination of the photos and floor plans reveal duplicates often. But the detail pays off - you will have a very believable building.

if you copied this to your computer you can then zoom in a little - begin to see what the window frames look like. Also use my Long Beach pic reference - notice some of the frame and bay window design - this is typical HK style. You can see that as well in the Ocean Shores photo, some of the windows are actually bay windows with some sort of "cubby" below or to the side usually holding an AC Unit. The wiki reference photos are good a crisp - very zoomable and you can see the general design of the building, the floor plans dont show window design very well - so always cross check with the photos.

This morning I saw this! 6.gif what a big project! It is a huge tower! look at it beside the ICF 3.gif

The text and pictures are from Dezeen.com

Hong Kong PSi Tower by Michael Young

British designer Michael Young has designed a tower for Hong Kong with faceted surfaces that will change according to weather and lighting conditions.

Hong Kong PSi Tower by Michael Young

Called PSi Tower, the project is the first in a series of strategies Young is developing for the Wan Chai area.

The building will house offices and apartments, with a public art space and restaurants at ground level, and outdoor theater area further up.

The plans are to be unveiled at 100% Design Shanghai in November, where Young is creative director (see our earlier story).

More stories about Michael Young »

The information that follows is from Young:

HONG KONG PSi TOWER by MICHAEL YOUNG
The PSi Tower Building, Hong Kong

British Hong Kong based designer Michael Young has been commissioned to develop building project strategies for Wanchai Cultural District. The first concept PSi Tower has been developed as an office complex with luxury apartments for business users and executives overlooking Kowloon district. Conceptually the project, based visually on the essence of ancient Chinese building techniques, has been carried forward into the 21st Century with its multi facetted surfaces that change according to weather and light conditions.

The 5-hectare site will include a ground level internal atrium for public art and pedestrian use, containing outdoor restaurants with outdoor seating. The upper central interior section also boasts a native plantation that encloses an outdoor theatre area.

Having lived in Hong Kong for several years, Young wanted to design a building that could be both understood by local residents and also be compelling on an international platform. Young, who has humorously stated he wanted to pickle Fosters Gherkin at the unveiling in Wanchai cultural centre today, admitted it was a great pleasure to work on such a large scale after watching great architects challenge the furniture industry over the years, and that finally the industry was becoming symbiotic a natural evolution of technology and engineering.

Detailed information on the project will be unveiled at presentation and public exhibition during 100% Design Shanghai in early November at Nanjing West Road.

    Place: Hong Kong, China 2010

I really hope that isn't actually built... a scaled down version set further back into the island, perhaps, but the way it is now, it'd totally dominate the skyline and clash with all the surrounding buildings... not to mention block out good portion of the exsisting skyline.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing some of that other stuff released. Hope you can get your hands on Max! If you can't get an email from your school, there are sites available where students can acquire an .edu email address for free - see the thread in BAT - Open Discussion.

I think a very squat version would look cool - maybe one that is only 20 floors, but then again - it seems lately that EVERY artistic render I've have seen never looks like the finished product, I dunno whats up with these render guys but they fail everytime.

The building looks horrific, like a oversized vase covering half of the skyline.

I think it's out of scale with that area of Hong Kong, and you knows it's bad when you're having scale issues in HONG KONG!!

And I agree with Bixel, the renderings aren't very good.  Usually for projects, especially this size, architecture firms hire really good arch visualization companies but I guess not this one.

hey guys and sorry for not responding earlier, school has been and is going to be hard for the next month or two 14.gif

But nevertheless i have managed to do some work on the Ocean Shore, after all the help and support you gave I decided to restart and here is a 1st pic. It is basically the building core on one side, I still have some detail to add but I am thrilled with the first results!!

Bixel! I inspired myself from that pic you gave me 4.gif

    hkbat20.jpg

I think I should rework on the green textures 5.gif next.

Goodness me that Micheal young tower didn't go down well! So am giving you another horrible building!

    PSY-ARCHITECTURE

And you thougt you couldn't associate the word psy with architectrure 3.gif

Please listen to this track while looking at the pics

I present local HK student in architecture

    cathedral-1-600x501.jpg

This project is the postgraduate thesis designed by Liu Chien Sheng. It is a cathedral proposal for Vienna as a new idea for societal multi-function, and the development of sanctity and form. The site is located in St. Stephen’s Cathedral which is the center of economy, culture, and traffic for the city.

    cathedral-2-600x457.jpg

New cathedrals integrates the surrounding societal functions, such as religious, art, commercial activities, tourism and traffic system. The church of this project is placed on the ground floor, theaters and department store on the upper floor of the basement. All the layers are divided by glass floor, and thus, the activities in different level generate visual overlap by the transparence of glass floor. People can experience the new cathedral through variety of spaces. This design is more appropriate style for the cathedral which is required to have multiple functions in modern human life.

Wow good luck on the Ocean Shores project. With Bixel's guidance, I am sure you will do fine. And please, don't rush this thing like other teams do (Thai bat team's latest Millennium R$$$ condos is a warning signal). Take your time for as long as it is worth.

Btw, that Psi Tower thing, is never going to make it in Hong Kong. This is not Shanghai Pudong, if you know what I mean.

For me the roof is a bit bland and a little too white for the game, also the windows just seem like brown blocks? Other tyhan that, the modelling is pretty decent.
