Why, the building does not need to be so black.:noway:

That's much closer, but I'd say it should be less saturated than it is right now and don't forget that the façade is not a solid color, it's many plates that look like semi-polished granite. As far the lights go, try varying the intensities, it'll look much better.

Here's a good day shot for you; although, when viewed from above instead of street level the walls will look a little darker.

Apparently something happened to my hard drive resulting in deletion of all programs and files, I just got my hard drive fixed and I'm gonna have to finish off from any previous progress I left on my extended hard drive ...

As of right now, my laptop is still being setup, so i can't use it, but when i can, I'm gonna re-download all the programs back, but I'm most frustrated that because of this, i have to redo not only BATS, but anything that i did in Sim City 4 .... Also, I'm gonna start and finish 1155 Avenue of the Americas until it's completely finished, no side projects.

Ouch. :( I hope you'll make the best out of your current situation and enjoy a new beginning in SC4 - I know it may sound cynical, but I have made the experience that once you're back at it again, it often feels refreshing to be in a situation where you can do it all right at the first attempt because you remember what you goofed up last time.

So good luck - and I hope you have some bucks left to invest into an external HDD or a high-capacity USB stick... you know, those HD crashes never come to those who wouldn't lose much anyway... it's Murphy's law.

I think it's safe to say .... but I might be quitting Sim City, I'm trying to redownload it Sim City 4 Deluxe, but my Disk 2 has a scratch on it the size of my thumb, and it's not proceeding the downloading. so considering that, theres no real use of BAT'ing at all ... Sorry guys. I'll see what I can do. But also without Sim City 4 deluxe, It won't let me download BAT either, so I'll eventually be dropping off my BAT's at the orphanage :(

If you guys have any advice as to how to fix my Disk 2 without buying a new game, I'll gladly consider trying them.

You could try polishing the disc (from the inside to the outside) with cleaning agent for spectacles (hope you know someone who wears glasses) and a lint-free cloth. Worked for me after I nearly ruined my RH disc by inserting it into the drive on top of another disc - horrible sound.

    EDIT

On a side note, is SC4 so hard to come by in the US, or so expensive? Where I live, they sell it for under 10 Euros (depending on exchange rate, approx. 10-15 US Dollars).

SC4 is definitely cheap these days...In fact, EA is selling the "sim city box" for only $20 US and it includes SC4 and RH along with 3 other sim games.

God I just cringe when I look through this thread to see how dumb I sounded and too think that was me only 2 years ago.

Anyways, although I won't have any renderings readily available for some time since I'm trying to adjust myself to the 3Ds Max software; I wanted to make a reappearance to the NYBT sub-forum with this post.

In case some of you are concerned with what I am working on at the moment, I'm recreating One 57 (Carnegie 57). A 1005 foot residential skyscraper 2 blocks from Central Park; the buildings itself is still under construction but by the time I even figure out all the miscellaneous tools of 3Ds max, its facade should be finished.

This is the buildings invisioned facade

    http://img.ibtimes.c...2/28/210451.jpg

    http://www.architize...57-Hero-Day.jpg

And this is it's current progress.

    http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/

And just a bit of information, in case some of you don't know; during the Hurricane that hit late October in the Northeast of the U.S, the construction crane that collapse was the one off of this building, so it's construction has had a halt for some time.

That's wonderful to see you around Guerrila Warfare. You re coming back with a marvellous project here. One57 is not an easy one, and you seem to be in a good way to do it. As you said, you are trying 3ds Max. I will try it too. Seems kind of complicated but with a little workforce, we should be ready to use it soon.

    Welcome back :)

Hahaha, yes... looking at old posts made by oneself can feel odd. Another reason why it's good not to communicate with the real name all the time.

It's good to see that you're back, and that you managed to get a copy of 3dsmax, too! Looks like you made quite an ambitious choice - just like you did two years ago with that black building. I'll pop in and have a look at your work for sure!
