What I mean is that if I understand the geometry of your building correctly some faces are not at perpendicular angle with respect to the floor but rather at different angles in which by the laws of physics (gravity) the blinds will try to fall vertically rather than follow the same direction and angle of the glass (I hope what I am trying to say is clearer now). I also don't fully understand how the floors follow each other. I think the geometry is quite complex and the current view is not the best to judge this. The reason why I bring this up is because you are a good modeler and you probably care about these things, even that for the game are probably insignificant.

thanks all for your nice comments,

I didn't recover my entire motivation but re open my 3dsmax to complete this ellyps project adapted for sc4.

The glass is not so well looking, I need expert advices concerning this and maybe other points...

Stay a lot of work on the plaza and the tower but the idea is there

The glass is almost there. Try this: darken your ground plane a little (in Photoshop), sharpen up your bump map (it looks too blurred) and slightly increase both the reflectivity and the opacity of the glass (make it more opaque.)

You can never make perfect glass first time round (as you probably know) so just keep messing around with settings until you come up with something you like.

Really nice geometry, and I love the overhanging plant over the entrance. As you said you still have to work on the plaza, may adding some levels to it following the triangular concept I mean making some bits elevated/sunken to brake with the planar monotony. About the reflections I think they look a bit too blurry near the top. And I see two issues first it seems to me that the mechanical floors are missing and two as the windows are transparent they give the building a vacant appearance, don't get me wrong it is beautiful and I will download it as it is but these could be things to look at.

Have I said that I love the geometry and the details?

I'm glad to see this building again, I love the way this building is designed. I love how you made your bushes, I need to learn how to do that. Keep it up my friend. :thumb:

i love this, and agree with Cockatoo..the reflections need to come out a little bit more and be a little more promient. The actual building is to do die for, why did this never get made? Or will it eventually..

Sorry for this slight case of thread necromancy, but I have recently tested the trees you've made, and I must say that I love them! Their crispness, their organic shapes and, last but not least, the fact that they are not as oversaturated as other trees. I've tested them together with Heblem's Chihuahan Flora mod and PEG's latest pine trees, and everything looked splendid together. Now I'll throw SimFox's trees into the mix, and some minor flora stuff... in short: Thank you so much for making those trees! :)

    Thanks for you kind comments,

I finally decided to finish my summer pack with larches for an hypothetic upload.

The rendering phases are so complex and makes the advancment slowly (1 stage export is around 10hours). Hope to find the motivation for autumn in the next weeks

there is no much I can say about the trees there are excellent as usual

The Mausoleum is also very nice looking, I was thinking that even that it looks very close to the real life one, for the game it may benefit from de-saturating the textures a bit?? But to be honest I was checking the real life one and it looks spot on...

Oooh, I love those larches!

It's a pity to hear about the render times, though - I guess this is no good news with regard to the PM I sent you recently. Maybe someone can help you out by rendering for you?

    Thanks for the comments,

Twrecks: I though I replied to you but I had a problem and registered my answer on a word which stayed on my computer at work. So I will reply monday sry ^^

I do less and less concerning sc4 and didn't recover taste to finish old projects or begining new ones.

Nevertheless I tried to do the night view of my mausolem, it seems that the flora don't fit well with the lights, don't know why.

This is a shame, it looked great already, I hope some would like to help, even I would take it off your hands, I'm not the worst with glass.

Just remember, this building was never mmade, therefore you don't really have a commitment to make this a recreation so can have the glass however you eant it. Would be a shame to see this fall into the ever growing pile of amazing bats that never got made..that said, we all have lives to lead and its your baby so yopu are free to do as you need :)

    Lenin's mausoleum:

I exported it in game and did some adjustments like size and saturation and went to small external details.

Night version is not good te fact to have grass "batted" doesn't fit with the lights...

surely need to come back to a flat texture :(

In a same time, I almost finished the garden of the UNAM Project of Harishna you can see here:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/topic/35875-harishnas-bats/page__st__330

I did the flora and here the last version following your comments

    e8b22baa265008f666007056f9289142.jpg

Finally, I asked SimCity4IE his model of the Saint Basile's church on the Red square in Moscow.

Thanks to him for providing the model + textures :)

I am correcting textures bugs and adding a tower which was missing.

I already did some props for the LOT but it stays lot of work on this monument...

Saint Basile's church looks great, I think the brick may be a little to big and repetitive, I'm sure you know this, you just trying to test our skills to see if we can see any flows. :D

The model and building of the Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat, Temple of Basil the Blessed, is beautiful I'll be checking for what improvement you make to this already fantastic BAT. I guess you will change things like the gold texture for something more real but will you also add some of the details missing in the main tower?

Long time I didn't post here.

    Thanks for your comments.

=> Vlasky Yes I can export it (them there are 2 trees) separately if you want.

Concerning the Cathedral I don't know where to go with it :( to be honnest I didn't touch it for more than 2 weeks

Yes it needs more details but not so easy to find pictures, moreover working on a model created by another member is not an easy exercice.

A long and difficukt project for the future...

I will post few pictures from my thread on devotion on some projects I am continuing.

Sorry for not being so precise with the work I did on them.

I worked a little bit on a bushes set:

    38eb605537549a26fa468aed56deddbb.jpg

I did some research concerning the larches, and finally I came up to the fact that they are quite good even if I am not so dense that previous pine sets.

This picture of a famous area in France, where larches are very common convinced me.

Concerning the cattails, I finally decided to develop an autumn version.

I think I need to desaturate a little bit the green and maybe reduce the "red" of the winter props.

I love all the vegetation. I just love the vegetation.I must say i love the vegetation...seriously, the trees and the bushes that you're making are really impressive, even in a crowd of wonderful BATs.

Could you please consider the idea of making a God mode tree controller with it?
