This unfortunately is a problem in all road top mass transit stations, and it's inherent in the way the game is designed.  However, it's fairly easy to work around, and I and many others have many RTMT stations of all descriptions in all RCI zones.  Please see RTMT FAQ #1 for some simple workarounds to this problem.

Yes, that's what I figured.  It is a trivial matter.  I just use the bus stop with park of aappropriate size in my R areas and zone accoringly elsewhere.  Today I populated one of my very busy down town avenues with sub/subway stops.  Very successful.

When working on a traffic problem, I use the traffic flow display as opposed to the congestion display.  Works very much better, especially for subways.

@niogax:  I got fed up to the teeth with the music in mayor mode.  Today I put my own MP3's of the Olympic Themes from 1984 through 2002 in there and killed all of theirs by clearing the check boxes.  Much better music to build cities by.

i hate when the game builds a bunch of the same building next to each other - it looks so fake.

the game randomly closes itself

that sims take weird routes to work like taking the shortest distance route on a small street even though there is a highway right there.

why does everyone leave for work and come home from work at the same time!

I hate the wierd unrealistic capacities everywhere and how inadequate they are, almost all busstation and train, subway are overfull far over their max capacity (of course i've downloaded new ones) but still!

And i hate the how the universities work, (or how they don't work) A city with more the 1,2 million inhabitants should have more then 4000 students especially in a region of 3,5 million inhabitants and is the only university, i mean there are 7000 students in my town and we are only 50000...

Well, my current frustration is how hard it is to build roads or streets going up rather steep hills. I got a tunnel/slope mod but that still won't fix it.

I am also having a problem with the way the population depletes when you start getting up to the 125,000 mark. It may be traffic worries. I might have to climb up to th next step in mass transit and use buses and train. Train may have to be subways, considering there is a lot of dense buildings in and around that area.

Well yes, and with the exception of the Maxis logo those things can be removed, they are all located in SimCity 4 Data -> Videos. At least I only see the Maxis logo at startup before being taken to region view.

1. No copy/paste options

2. No undo/redo options

3. Dependencies

4. All mods feel so applied and unnatural in the game

5. The fact that you need to hack the DAT-file to intrigate the mods and plugins into the game.

6. The menus, it's too inconvenient scrolling through all buildings.

7. The fact that it's too easy to screw up your city and never fix the issue ever again.

So true. It often happens after rezoneings and building new transit networks. I have learned my lesson after years of playing and now save so often for the safety of my work

Haha, hated this too (especially when I'm in a middle of something and I forget to save!)

But a bugfix took care of that!

Few things I've always hated, (Besides the random crashes) are:

1) The camera angles & zoom levels.

2) No regional zoom function.

3) Longer load times while using any type of mods.

4) Random Lag.

5) No regional camera rotation function.

6) "cut-off" lots when building on hills.

7) No diagonal buildings, which can grow on diagonal roadways.

Just a few which come to mind.

Also, this page describes a neat little trick for getting rid of that annoying intro video.

I cant stand this F***kin commute time OMFG!!!!! This really pisses me off. Im about 2 paces away from hurling this game out the window. I have 3 other friends who feel the same way. The stuff is unreal. My one friend had a done city with skyscrapers and all and still the buildings get abondoned due to the commute time. Its like a horrible glitch or somethin. I started a new city and made sure I SURROUNDED Res zones with available jobs. They beg for water supply but I was afraid to do so. When I did stuff went completely haywire. I had rich sims movin in but turn around and have no jobs. I check my commute chart and it says commute time is 2.5!!! What the hell is up. Did I zone too big, too small?

And its like no way to fix it because it seems like with 1 to 5 houses get the No Job zot, then it becomes contageous. I honestly dont get this game. Because if the damn commute chart says 2.5 then every one should have a job. I even re-zoned some areas as denser and still stuff went completely dumb. If EA were to ever make another version, they need to make a realistic commute system. I even caught the it in action once. A High$$$ Res building came up with a No Job zot, right? I had space around them to make new developments so I zone a high commercial. It built into a High$$$ commercial office immediately. But guess what? The Res decided to take a job that's like 50 miles away rather than take the one they live across the street from. Its all BS!

Cmon, no need to curse. Anyway, use the NAM. Should help. It also installs the Traffic Simulator Config tool which will allow you to increase capacities if they are getting abandoned.

But I feel the same way about those idiot sims. I put the roads there. USE THEM!

CTD when zooming in/out ....the game can't load that quickly if you have all custom content and a really big city with many plugins....

I get about 5 crashes every day ..... once I had 22 crashes because of a problem with the NAM puzzle peaces....

Now I have to zoom in/out by using the + and - buttons on my keyboard 9.gif Scrolling with my mouse is impossible without a crash 3.gif

Well, anyone who plays SC4 should take care of their hard disks by defraging them and running disk cleanup and Chkdsk every so often. Defrag and disk cleanup every few days. I do it all the time and don't seem to have any problems with CTD.

Massive abandonment due to commute time, along with commute paths that make no sense, are some of the (least) endearing characteristics of the original Maxis traffic simulator.  With the NAM traffic simulator and proper traffic system construction, these can be eliminated completely.  But if you're using the NAM traffic simulator, increasing capacities has no effect on abandonment (which should be nonexistent or nearly so), but merely reduces congestion.

I hate the fact that if I build a school in a city of let's say 25,000, it will usually only have like 30 students.

I hate that also. Another one i must add is the radius & capacity for the civic buildings; You have built a city with well over 300,000 sims, in order to keep demand high & keep your city desirable, you must place 27 schools within your city. An average city with that amount of population does not need 27 schools.

Mine would crash sometime but not all the time. But I think when the CPU tries to render the graphics it just cant take it. Thats why when zomming in/out I click the corner of my city on the map below and then the CPU wont have much to display because you're on the edges of the city. I think this can work. Because when you zoom, especially out, all the graphics have trouble coming in. IDK if this will stop this, but I think it could limit the crashes down a notch.

Yes I already have the NAM (I guess I shoulda said that in the first place) but I think it's the taxes. I never realised this. But I had a great city once with a few skyscrapers, and to think about too many rich Res at the time. I also hate the fact that its kinda hard to get the sims to use transit. Some wont and it's right in front of them.

What bugs me the most is the constant missing rextures on Maxis lots, thay there's no way to get nightlights on STEX buildings with the mac version on the game, and the massive amount of work it takes to create wall to wall cities. Medium density residential zones look just like euro style suburbia, which I don't want in the center of my cities.

I'm not sure if someone posted this already, but I also hate the fact that there is no "Undo" button. When I'm making turn lanes with the NAM, I mess up alot which means I have to delete the road, lay down the road, and try again. If there is a undo button, please let me know.

There is no undo button. So anyways, my current frustration is why it is so hard to make roads go up steep hills.
