I rather enjoyed my History of German Film class ages ago in university.  I had watched a number of them growing up, but it was interesting to catch others I hadn't seen before, such as "The Tin Drum," "Aguirre: Wrath of God," and "The Blue Angel."  I missed "The Marriage of Maria Braun," but I have never been a Fassbinder fan (outside of his amazing "Berlin Alexanderplatz.")

What is your favorite poem?

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level." - Quentin Crisp
"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz
"Ordinary morality is for ordinary people." - Aleister Crowley
"No one ever said on their deathbed, 'Gee, I wish I had spent more time alone with my computer.' " - Dani Bunten Berry

Skipping Shakespeare then this one by Bertold Brecht:

Reicher Mann und armer Mann standen da und sah’n sich an,
und der Arme sagte bleich: ‚Wär ich nicht arm wärst du nicht reich.’

Which in English means something like:

Rich man and poor man stood there looking at each other,
And the poor man said: "If I were not poor, you would not be rich."

Freedom.  I want to do what I want how I want, and not simply work to make someone else rich.  SO while my current job is fine, it still sucks and I want my freedom back.

Do you like coffee?  If so, what kind?  If not, why not?

Hmmm. Animated or not. For animated, I think its Avatar, the orignal one with Aang. For not animated, I have no idea. I rarely watch non-animated series but I nominate Tenchijin for that. It's a good series about Kanetsugu Naoe.

What do you expect in your life in the next five years?

I expect to move back to Japan, get more stories written, and get most of them published so I can get paid for them.  I'm pretty good at writing, and if you're good at something, you shouldn't do it for free.

I would have to say the Grand Canyon (from either the top or the bottom).  There is a reason they call it 'Grand'.

What's the longest you have stayed away from your 'home' country?

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older.  Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death."

Yeah, kinda. Especially if you toss ecology and system biology into the mix. Botany alone is too much names and categories for me, so I'd need the others to balance it out.

If you'd have to move to another country, which would that be? Why?

Singapore, because I've been there once and I loved it. Other contenders are Norway (too close) and the US (will have a crap president in less than a year's time).

Urban or rural life?

The latter. Though I can't deny being looked up to by all the world would also be nice. :)

Do you pronounce it de-fault or dee-fault?

I don't know a whole lot about children's entertainment, but I guess just letting children be children (daydreaming, playing with a stick, getting dirty, doing stupid things, getting into trouble, etc) works best. I don't think they should be pampered, but maybe that's just me.

Do you ever go on long walks?

A lot.  There's something about a long walk that focuses me.  Of course, it's good exercise, too.

Do you ever go to your country's national parks (if yours has them)?

Work.  That's about it.  Then on the weekends I get to play with my kids, read old comics, and drink beer while playing NCAA Football 2007 on ye olde PS2.  I have gotten the occasional game of SC4 in, too.

Have you tried SimCity BuildIt?
