my favorite artist was Phil Collins.

I do still enjoy his music today, even though he did not come up with anything new..His music is both fun and entertaining.

Are you getting sick of winter?

Italy. What's not to love??

How many social media outlets do you actively use? And which do you think are redundant/pointless?

I could never get into Twitter.

I use Facebook and Instagram a lot, as I have built up a bit of a following with my foodie posts. I also use Urbanspoon a bit too. (ps. Follow roflyoshi on there to get my scrumptious meals!)

Do you use Instagram? What do you post on it?

Nope.  Doesn't Instagram have a rather draconian EULA?  Anyways, I put pictures on my Facebook (which is draconian in its own right) for my friends and family back home, but mostly so my mom can see the two grandkids she hasn't met yet.

Do you have any close relatives you've never met?

A lot of them. My uncle on my dad's side is one of them; and I don't know most of my cousins and even the names of my aunts/uncles (I have 9 on the mom side and 12 on dad side; imagine the amount of names you'll need to know). I could not have cared much anyway. I felt abandoned by my own close family anyway.

Have you had a time where you are angry and just felt like you just want to run away?

Oooooooooooooooooooooooo, that's a tough question.  I'll give you a few that I like, that I can listen to all the way through and never skip a song: Incubus' Morning View, Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy and IV, The White Stripes' De Stijl and Elephant, The Deftones' Around The Fur, Stone Temple Pilots' Tiny Music... Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop, Shiina Ringo's Muzai Moratoriamu, Tokyo Jihen's Goraku, The Toadies' Rubberneck, Snot's self-titled album, Sevendust's self-titled album, New Found Glory's Sticks and Stones, Garbage's Version 2.0, maybe some others.  Led Zeppelin's IV is probably the best for me, with the others all sharing a beloved #2 position.

How about you?  What albums do you love every song on?

Yup, more than a few times.  Many were combined classes of little kids learning English.  Sometimes it was the opening or closing ceremony for a semester at a junior high school where I said hello or goodbye to an entire school.  I thought I was done doing it, but I'm helping the new girl take over my job the next few weeks before I leave.  I'm seriously gonna miss this town and the kids and the teachers.  I'll stop before I get emotional.

    What gets you emotional?  Why?

Now days, just about any news story about some child being abandoned, abused, killed or harmed...mainly because I have kids of my own and when I think of something bad happening to them gets me emotional.

What has been the happiest moment of your life so far (hopefully there are many more to come)?

My happiest moment? Going to Michigan for a contest. I'm still pretty young (20) so there's more ahead of me.

The Sensational Six ran for like 150 updates and ended.  Now I've got The Best Defense, and that's up to 117 updates.  I've had two Port Matthew journals, one went for like three years, maybe?  And the other will be a year old this fall.

I don't know the name of that tome, but it was almost 3900 pages long (It was English and was related to art). And then followed by the dictionary and the lotus sutra and then the bible :P

have you tried being bald once? If yes, how was it? If no, would you give it a try? (This does not include natural balding; that's an entirely different story)

Nope.  I have no desire to be bald, but I keep my hair on the short side because I hate combing it in the morning.  What a waste of my time.

How long is your hair?  Do you style it?  Why or why not?

I don't measure it that often, so I don't know how long it is. I do sometimes put some gel in it, but often when I arrive on school my hair is almost the same as when I woke up.

Does your hair sometimes ignore gravity?

Japanese news will often show the grotesque aftermath of hideous accidents, like this one where some young, license-less a-hole ran over and killed a mom and two (or was it three) of her kids on their way home from school and they were showing closeups of the mom's hair stuck in the windshield and stuff.  Gruesome.  Oh, and watching 9-11 as it happened was sickening, too.

Fortunately, natural events very rarely occur at this location, but the worst natural event I have ever experienced would have to be back in early 2011, when the local region received very heavy rainfall and flash flooding occurred.

I've lived in two, the USA and Japan.  I think they are both very fine places to live and would recommend them both to anyone who asked.  Japan has the best customer service on the face of the planet, beautiful and delicious food, and decent schools, but it is crowded, the bureaucracy is staggering and entrenched, and for non-Japanese people you can encounter racism, whether accidental or not, on a daily basis.  America is big and spacious and the people are friendly and the food is plentiful and delicious while everyone is getting fat, the worst possible people seem to be the only ones getting rich and/or famous, and (speaking of the rich) they're far outstripping everyone else in wealth with no hope of closing that gap in the foreseeable future.  There are plenty of good opportunities for normal people in both countries and I think that there are still vibrant, creative art communities in both.  Good stuff on both sides of the Pacific.

Given the choice between America and Japan, which would you choose and why?
