Physical Education. I was overweighted as a teenager. When we played soccer I had to be the goalkeeper. I was a very bad goalkeeper. But they forced me always to be the goalkeeper. Once they let me play as a midfielder and I made two goals. Made it even worse. Since then I wasn't allowed to be anything else then the goalkeeper. Even the teacher said it would be better if I'd be the goalkeeper so the discussion would stop and we could start playing.

What is your impression: did school promote your talents/gifts or did it sand/crop them - or something else?

High school probably helped promote my talents a little, College a lot more.

How much time do you spend on the computer each week?

In general 2 hours per day. In the weekends more and on school days less. That means 2 x 7 = about 14 hours per week.

Do you have a longer weekend than normally next weekend?

Officially it's Good Friday Next Week so yes. But I do not observe that holiday because I'm converting to Jōdo Buddhism.

Have you restored an object?

What is the oldest object you own?

I don't own very much and especially not old stuff. I think the oldest must be my speakers. They are about 10 years old or something.

Do you have good speakers?

Never experienced it, so I can't say anything about it.

Do you currently have a partner?

Nope. Maybe in the near future, we'll see what happens.

What are your thoughts on nationalism? What is nationalism? What defines nationalism?

I'll go by the dictionary definition of "nationalism". Having said that, I consider myself more of a Californian than American. Having said that also, I don't consider myself a nationalist. Having said that also also, I guess some pride in your country is good, so long as it's healthy. (Me, I'd be a mess.)

Can this scenario happen?

Suppose an English love song were written with a certain set of lyrics and tells a certain story. A Spanish speaker listens to the song, mishears it, and, by chance, manages to hear it in such a way that he still understands that it's a love song and listens to the same exact story being told in English.

The Spanish speaker then rewrites the song in Spanish, based off of what he (mis)heard, whilst keeping the same melody. An Anglophone mishears the Spanish song but manages to get the vibe that it's a love song and gets the same message as before. He then tries to rewrite the song into English, but discovers that his lyrics are completely identical to the original in English.

The Anglophone and Hispanophone take their lyrics to an interpreter, and the interpreter tells the two that both songs are phonetically similar and yet tell the same exact story.

The song is a mondegreen since the song was misheard into something else. The song's also a contrafactum since someone else wrote alternate lyrics whilst keeping the same melody. It's an automondegreen because no matter which way you mishear it, you still get the same exact story; it mightn't be the same exact order of words or the same translation, but it's the same story. Finally, it's an autocontragreen because you can have two completely different versions of the same song but in two different languages, but one you understand, and when you mishear the other, you can still (kinda) hear the original.

No. This scenario is impossible. It ignores the problem of the Qualia.

What else I could do to pass a long train travel except of playing sc4 or reading a book? Any suggestions?

Not really. I think there's only one LED lamp in the house.

What's your favourite show on FOX?

I have 5 of them. All nephews, no nieces. They're all younger than me, but that's why they are nephews and not causins.

Do you have family living abroad?

You have family in Australia? Where?

My family are mostly in Australia but I have cousins etc. in Germany.

49% of people in Australia are either foreign born or have a foreign born parent. Does this apply to you?

Technically I'm foreign-born myself since I'm living in Japan.  But then when we move back my wife and kids will be foreign-born since they were all born here in Japan.  So, uh, a little, I guess?

Who do you think composes the best movie scores?  Why?

As an avid classical music listener, what makes a great movie score is its connection to the movie and the perfect balance of music. I listened to composers from around the world and found that they had hits and misses in composition and execution. I don't have a particular favourite (still evaluating European and American Composers) but I did enjoy Akira Ifukube, Watanabe Toshiyuki and Tomita Isao on the Japanese side (there's more) and I am an established John Williams fan. :P

Have you seen a solar eclipse?

    Yes, I do.

Do you check IMDB before watching a movie?
