Even once all the playoff spots are clinched, it's anything but predictable who will make it to the world series.

It's all too easy for a great team to have a bad week and get knocked out. Especially with the division series where you only need to win three games to advance rather than four.

Their playing well without Howard, and Utley hasn't done anything since he came back.  If J-Roll continues the heat up I would say the NL east title title is theirs.

I think the umpiring crews have become a tad too obsessed with completing all 9 of innings in spite of inclement weather. Take today's Yanks/M's game for instance: it's raining off and on all day. Going into the top of the 9th, Yanks up 10-0, it starts raining fairly hard and they keep playing. Why? I mean, I could see the desire for persisting if it was a close score, but with a 10 run difference? Just call the damn game already.

On another note, yesterday Russel Branyan of the Mariners became the first person to hit the upper deck in the new Yankee Stadium.

The Playoff eligible and wavier deadline are 8 days away i URGE Frank Wern to sign free agent John Smoltz for the remainder of the season. Thats the only way i'm gonna respect him.

I would also like to see him pick up free agents Jermaine Dye and Mark Grudzielanek for the september roster.

Boscan will make his MLB Debut after spending 14 years in the minors and Max St. Pierre after 11, the longest streak belongs to Alburquirke Isotobes 1st basemen John Lindsey who has played in the minors since 95. I was hoping to see both Mike Hampton and Jason Isringhausen back but looks not to be the case. Also Yonder Alonso will be making his MLB debut! I watched him when he played for the Miami Hurricanes.
