It's similar to an overpass/interchange near where I live.  If only there were a piece of avenue-overpass-over-roundabout.quote>

You could use the highway over roundabout & convert part of the avenue overpass into El-Highway.

I suppose, it just looks better if it's all avenue.

Unless you get a highway skin that makes it look like an avenue. But you will still have three lanes, I guess...

There is an asphalt highway texture out there somewhere, which will help. But until Avenue-over-roundabout is available that's the only way.

You know; you could I think use RHW for the overpass - see if that gets you anywhere?

I was talking about the 2nd picture with the roundabout but they both look really good.

Oh. Well thanks for the comments.

Also, I'm in the process of building a new 6-way highway interchange. I'll show it to you guys when it's finished.

Here's some more of my interchanges, this time from my industrial city (hey, all that dirt and trash has to go somewhere! 1.gif)

https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/attachments/viewattachment.cfm?attachid=8883&forumid=1

This is a recently-built cloverleaf between a Maxis ground highway and an ElRHW-4, on the southeastern side of Industrial City.  This took a lot of work, because I was stubborn and wanted to make those ramps as compact as possible.  Single track rail brought to you by RAM (Rail Addon Mod) 1.gif

https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/attachments/viewattachment.cfm?attachid=8884&forumid=1

A close-up during the daytime (Note: The ground-level RHW-4 was originally an ordinary ground highway, but I switched it to an RHW-4 because the MIS ramps look a lot better than the single-sided one-way ramps, which made the interchange a bit redundant.)

Night shot!

https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/attachments/viewattachment.cfm?attachid=8886&forumid=1

A little bonus shot:  This picture shows the road and rail tunnels I made to go under the NAM stack interchange.  Not exactly an interchange, I suppose, but I think it looks cool 3.gif

That's all for now folks!  If you want, I can show you some more of that ElRHW-4 seen in the first three pics.

Hehe. You never said what kind of interchange. So, here is mine, called the Inner Harbor Corridor. Bear with me, there will be a harbor there soon. 3.gif

Cityobserver: Nice cloverleaf, but the inner walls would be unnecessary in R/L.

Beebs: Awesome interchange, I like ths STR on the interchange.

Computerguy - Nice basic interchange aside from the texture weirdness.

My attempt at a directional 3-way interchange. As you can see, I need a better slope mod.

Nice interchanges everyone. Now I'm gonna show you what happens when someone with too little experience looks at this thread and is inspired to the point of extreme ambition. Basically I wanted an interchange if 3 highways in the same spot.

Here's my interchange from the largest zoom. Keep in mind this is on a large tile.

Interchange2.jpg

Here is the same picture zoomed in a step.

Interchange1.jpg

The rest are just random parts of the interchange.

Interchange3.jpg

Interchange4.jpg

Interchange5.jpg

It's so epically huge because I connected every highway to every sing other one, instead of treating it like 2 separate interchanges. There are 24 links from one highway to another instead of 2 cloverleafs which I could've done. This took me about 3 hour of building to make, but it was worth it. I'll admit it looks really crappy and unorganized, but it's my first custom interchange beyond diamonds and parclos so I like it.

If there's one thing I learned from this is why you will never ever find a 3-highway interchange and that ambition can do amazing things. Thanks for the inspiration!

I noticed that the original thread was broken with no more posts showing up, so this will be it's replacement. Here's a link to the original.

I'll start off with what I was trying to post in the other one.

Interchange2.jpg

This is my 6-way interchange from the farthest zoom level.

Interchange1.jpg

And this is it after zooming in once. This monstrosity came about while looking through the original thread. Some of them were just amazing and I wanted to what I could come up with. My only plan was that I would have 2 intersecting highways going north-south and east-west with a third going diagonally and going near the intersection as well. To accommodate the crossings of the diagonal highway I had to make it a little less diagonal near the center. To add to this, my diagonal exits would dig a REALLY deep hole when I tried to place them so I used the normal exits. My plan was to connect each highway to each and every other in both directions instead of two cloverleafs. I had to write down and tick of all the exits I would've needed, and when I saw that I need 24, I was think "Oh my god, what have I gotten myself into?". Nevertheless I continued. After about 2 or 3 hours of work and much frustration, I ended up with the above interchange.

Here are a few more pictures:

Interchange3.jpg

Interchange4.jpg

Interchange5.jpg

From this idiotic idea I learned two thing. First, unchecked ambition can lead to amazing but sometimes useless things. And second, I realized why 3 highways will never be part of the same interchange.

Any feedback on my "interesting" interchange would be appreciated, and posting your own interchange would be even better.

I made 6 or 7 posts to try to fix it, but it wouldn't work so I figured it was completely broken. I guess if it does eventually work my posts will take up a lot of the page until I delete them.

So, when does a thread become "broken"? Or when is it considered as "broken"?
