Doing this convention center... this is the real thing, i took that picture... (as you can notice I have this same thing in my avatar, the little arch you see)

Now my progress on 3dsmax...

Any critics and suggestions welcomed...

Ive heard using colors in the windows is not a good idea... so should I use reflections or something instead?

Google finally updated their images of this convention center I started last year, will continue working on this convention center... located in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Lot size in game would be approximate of 6x8, including the front plaza (not parking lot), for now the sizes i had are somewhat wrong, so i need to fix it.

Some early renders of this project, as you see i need to put alot more work and fix texture, specially the arch bump and maybe windows. I spent about an hour in making a glass that reflects and semi-transparent, i think i got it, but still need to make inside details and such...

Loving all the different mini marts! I tried BATing one, but gmax kept crashing for some odd reason. Could never fix it, so i could never BAT it.

Woops, i may have just replied to something quite not so recent. lol Okay so! That convention center. Epic! LOVE the large arch over the front of the center. And the glass detail work is excellent.

Yup, that looks like it could become a fine companion for SimGoober's and Joerg's malls!

The conference center is a very interesting building, too. Do you have any plans as to what it will be in game yet?

concerning the mall :thumb: it is progressing well as I like its design intent...

also... trusting that the scale of it will look aright, so it ain't squashed nor too large scale wise no matter how many square sized it is that it looks right along side SG' mall and the other bats such as JB small town stuff...

I suspect that you have a decent handle on the scale issue; just hoping that its a 'happy balance'...

over all I like the look of it, as its layout has a great potential for its campus layout and over all placement... also will it be flexible enough to say, use HooHa's parking lots along with it?

Jack_wilds, thanks, the scale i use are estimations in many cases, using the rule of 3 meters sims, in highrises the scale rule is different, as using parking lot textures i always use my own, located at LBT mega texture pack.

You are right, my model of Torre Latinoamericana is SOOOO underscaled, old and not up to today standards. That was my second BAT, and I was still learning how to do things with gmax. I still have the gmax file.

I wish someone would make a new version, is a building I really like. That was the first skyscraper I ever been to when I was 8 years old and I love it, it is still my favorite one of Mexico City.

Unfortunaly, I don't have the time to return to BAT and I'm loosing interest in this game aswell.

Well, I'm curious to know what Heblem is making. I'll return later to see.
